CAMP UPDATE

We have enjoyed a good day thus far and expect it to just get better as we approach the evening service.  Our morning worship was good.  Ken Freeman has been teaching the adults while the students stay in the auditorium for their own worship service.  Good stuff!

The Lord blessed us with a good weather day too.  This afternoon has seen our students on the beach and in the pool.  We have some red students and Whitney Bryant isn’t even here!

We are losing two tonight and gaining one.  Chris Taylor, after returning home late Sunday night from Africa, has served as our other male chaperone for the junior high guys.  He has to go home tonight.  Dale Bosarge arrived a few minutes ago to take his place.  I appreciate Chris and the great job he has done with those guys.  Dale will do likewise.

Korie Fontenot had to go to the hospital last Sunday due to dehydration.  I am sending her home this afternoon.  She simply won’t drink enough water!  (Actually, her softball team plays in OK City, OK this weekend and they leave tonight)  She did get dehydrated Sunday so that makes for a better story.

Someone thought they saw Zach on the beach but we aren’t for certain – sure hope we find him before heading home.  Cameron Watson is now on his third day without a bath or brushing his teeth – who is his mother?  We think we have the Hall twin back but now the other one is missing or did we not ever get the first one back?  I’m confused!

Tonight, we will be observing the Lord’s Supper in the service and will then be joined by Ken Freeman for our church group time.  Pray that God will show up in a mighty way!

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 20

Wild Week has been good thus far!  I was impressed with Evangelist Ken Freeman before this week and I am still impressed by him.  He really wants to see folks come to Jesus for salvation and then to live loud in their Christian walk.

Last night, one our older students, Johnny Ladnier, stepped up and committed to be a leader within our student ministry.  I am thankful.  However, Johnny leaves in August to play baseball for Faulkner State so I challenged our other students to step up and be leaders.  Several made a commitment during our church group time to do just that.

Tonight, we will be blessed to have Ken Freeman join us for our church group time.  I am praying that will be a special time as we see him up close and personal.  Please keep praying for our students.

We are having our 10:00AM & 7:00PM services today.  The only changes to the schedule are that all of our students will meet at 7:00PM in the student ministry building where Coach Nate will teach them.  Our college/young professionals will not meet at 8:00PM but are encouraged to attend the 7:00PM service.  Otherwise, it is a normal Wednesday.

Whitney Bryant came home from the hospital.  She is recovering nicely.  Whitney’s grandmother, Miss Lucine Bryant, was admitted to the hospital with what may very well be an infection in her leg.  Christine Leasure remains in the hospital and they have inserted a feeding tube.  Trish Cohen (Jacksonville via Panimaquin in Guatemala) will be having her left kidney removed because of cancer.  They are in the process of scheduling that operation.  Pray for these various needs.

Bro. Jerry posted an entry on the GRACE blog yesterday complete with a few pictures.  Pray for the team as they do ministry.  I don’t know what they accomplished yesterday as the first entry was about their travel on Monday.  Bro. Craig has not posted on their blog so he must be really sick or something.  Keep up with this trip via the various blogs and pray for them.

I pray that you will have a great Wednesday.
