MONDAY, 9/3/12

Sorry for the lateness of this post.

We had a good day in our services yesterday and we give God the glory.  The Spirit was good as was the attendance especially considering it was a holiday weekend.  I could list a pretty good number of our folks who are out of town.  Thank you to those who attended the morning and evening services yesterday.  Your faithfulness is encouraging!

Edna H. Glover’s brother, Henry Miller, passed away early yesterday morning after months of seemingly being at death’s door.  The visitation will take place today from 5:00 – 8:00PM at the Ellisville Funeral Home in Ellisville, Mississippi.  The funeral service will take place tomorrow, 9/4, from the chapel of the funeral home.  Pray for Edna and her family during this time.

Art Elliott remains in the hospital.  His wife, Debra, was in the service last night and said that Art should come today.  Hopefully, that is true!

Amy Huhn’s father is in a local hospital and her father-in-law is in a different hospital.  Pray for these men.

Greg Boutwell came home from the hospital on Saturday which was a day or two earlier than then doctors expected.  Greg told me Friday morning that he was going home on Saturday and he did.  Keep praying for him.

Lindsey Vice received a shot last Thursday due to her miscarriage and it has caused her to be down for a few days which was an expected result.

My thoughts yesterday were on Lisa’s brother, Michael, and his passing 26 years ago.  Wow, that seems like yesterday on one hand and forever on the other.  I cannot picture Michael being a 44 year old man.  Yes, death stings!  Thank God that Jesus has defeated death!  We will see Michael again one day!

Thanks for Ross Genzink and Soy and their driving through the night, we were able to arrive from Dallas at 7:15AM yesterday morning which gave me time to get a shower, get ready, and be in the pulpit for both of our morning services.  The GPS said it would take us nine hours to get home and it did as we only stopped twice for maybe ten minutes total.  Having Rusty on the trip was useless but he did keep Soy company during the game!  Cowboys stadium is impressive!  Bama was impressive.  Other than throwing his cell phone after one of Bama’s scores, Ross was a good sport!

The church office is closed today but will be open tomorrow.  We are on a regular schedule Wednesday.

I pray that you will have a great Labor Day with Jesus.
