THURSDAY, 7/7/11

Louise Morris is apparently making some progress in her physical therapy but is also perhaps growing somewhat frustrated by her situation as she has gotten less talkative.  Pray for her whole person as she goes through rehab.

Leasa Salter’s surgery went well.  They are working on trying to get her home soon.

We had a good day in our services yesterday.  I do not have the numbers from the classes but do know the 10:00AM, 7:00PM, and 8:00PM services were well attended.  The 8:00 folks enjoyed shrimp, crab, and crawfish.  They can nail some seafood!

The Ladies Helping Hands will meet in the fellowship hall tonight beginning at 6:30PM.  All ladies are invited to attend this meeting!

Interesting read where a lady in NC passed away a year or so ago.  The investigation revealed that the flower garden she had so faithfully taken care of for years actually contained her husband’s corpse.  Authorities suspect he passed away in the 90’s.  Wow!

Bret Hart, we got the packages.  Thanks!

I pray that you will have a great Thursday with Jesus.

WEDNESDAY, 7/6/11

Leasa  Salter was scheduled to have an additional surgery at some point yesterday.  I visited with her in the morning and she was waiting on the surgeon.  She has another spot that has become infected.  The good news is that she has been approved to get the necessary equipment to come home.  I am not sure how this surgery will impact those plans but hopefully she will be home soon.  The initial wound is healing nicely.

The folks going on the GRACE Ministries trip with Bro. Jerry (7/14 – 21) are asked to meet with him immediately following the 8:00PM service tonight.  Pastor Travis Northcutt will be a part of that meeting also as he will be leading a group of folks from his church on that same trip.

The “Ladies Helping Hands” ministry will meet tomorrow night in the fellowship hall beginning at 6:30PM.  All ladies are invited to attend this meeting.  Questions?  Contact Anna Carol Bosarge.

Three men were nominated to serve as deacons for the next three years beginning August 1.  Those men will be introduced during our service this Sunday evening.

We are on a regular schedule today/tonight.  I hope many members of the Friendship family will join us for a Bible study/worship time.

I pray that you will have a great Wednesday with Jesus.

TUESDAY, 7/5/11

As pastor, I am so very thankful to God for allowing me to serve Him alongside the Friendship family!  This past Sunday was a really, really blessed day.  It was a holiday weekend yet we saw a really strong attendance in all three of our worship services, baptized eight folks in the evening service, and witnessed a wedding to put the proverbial icing on the cake!  I came home Sunday night in a spirit of great joy because of all God did and for your faithfulness!

Of course, I was also blessed to have twelve members of my family present for the 10:30AM service this past Sunday.  That number included my parents.  We had a great time of fellowship around the table.  I had to leave them to go preach in the 2:00PM service which probably was not one of my brighter moves but it was all good!

It was also a blessing to have Pastor Travis & Amy Northcutt in the 10:30AM service.  I would have had him preach in the evening service if we would have had a “normal” Sunday night.  It is always good to see Pastor Travis.  He will be leading a group of his folks to join Bro. Jerry on the upcoming GRACE Ministries trip.

Yesterday was just a nice relaxing day for me.  Nothing says relaxation like being in Walmart at 6:00AM and then back again at 10:30PM – LOL!  We enjoyed family time and that was capped when Brad, Daphne, Titus & Emmy got home late yesterday afternoon.

Louise Morris is back in the rehab center.  Leasa Salter has a couple of new spots that could possibly require surgery.  The initial spot is healing very nicely per Bernard.  Keep praying for these ladies.

Congratulations to Kyle & Kristen Mast who were married this past Saturday night in Ft. Wayne, IN.  It simply was not possible for me to attend that ceremony and be in the pulpit Sunday morning.  What a great young couple!

Today marks my brother-in-law’s 43rd birthday.  It is hard to believe that he will soon be gone from this world for 25 years.  I only knew Michael for seven years but those were a good seven years.  I am praying for Charles, Ann, Kim & Lisa today.

Back to the proverbial “rat race” today.  I pray that your Tuesday will be great with Jesus.

SATURDAY NIGHT, 7/2/11

Just received a voice mail from Sharon Jardee to let me know that Louise Morris was placed back into the hospital today.  They had hoped to send her back to the rehab center this afternoon but it did not  happen.  Pray that she can overcome this setback quickly.  Thanks!

FRIDAY, 7/1/11

Landon Joyner will have surgery early this morning.  Pray that all will go well for little Landon – 2 years old.

Our students will return home around midnight.  Pray for safety in travel.

Louise Morris was moved to the rehab center yesterday afternoon.  I appreciate Bro. Jerry visiting with her and Judy letting me know of the move.  Pray that the rehab will go well.

Continue to pray for Leasa Salter as she recovers from her surgery.

There are two openings on Bro. Jerry’s trip to Guatemala (7/14 – 21).  Anyone wishing to take one/both of these openings needs to contact Bro. Jerry no later than 7/7.  He can let you know the exact cost.  Otherwise, the ticket holders will simply retain a credit with the airline.

Joe David & Lori Bailey along with their twins, Ty & Josie, came for a visit last night.  They are in Gulf Shores this week.  It was great to visit with them.

You ever take a stray dog and drop him off several miles from the house only to return home and find him there?  Translated – Soy showed up yesterday!  He changed his ticket and came home a week early – hooray!  (Whatever!)  Said something about missing me and tried to give me a hug.  I went inside and locked the door!  Oh well, at least Deidra is happy!  (Love is truly blind!)

Regular schedule this Sunday.  Something unique in Sunday night’s service.  I hope you enjoy your 4th!  No more entries until Tuesday, 7/5, unless something happens to warrant otherwise.

I pray that you will have a great weekend with Jesus!
