FRIDAY, 6/30/23

Happy sixteenth wedding anniversary to Brad & Daphne.  I hope they will have a great day (with Jason H).

Andy Hamil was admitted to the hospital.  They will run more tests today.  I appreciate Clara Broadus being so kind to Andy & Betty and helping them out in so many ways.

As I mentioned yesterday afternoon, Phil & Edna are doing good.  Edna begins PT today.  Keep praying!

Continue to pray for Robert Baria.  Roseanne too!

Not sure where Bibbi Bosarge is in her battle against gall stones but please pray for her.

To those who are working outside during this unusually hot spell, please be careful and stay hydrated!  (I am talking to you, Gary Walton!).

Regular schedule this Sunday morning.  If possible, let’s wear the colors of our flag!

Cake auction with fireworks display this Sunday beginning at 5:00PM and ending at dark thirty.  Bring a lawn chair.  Bring trimmings for barbecue.  All cakes need to be in the CAB by 3:00PM!  Anyone up for bringing homemade ice cream?

Can you believe that 2023 will be halfway over at midnight tonight?  Wow!

I pray that you will have a great Friday with Jesus.

THURSDAY, 6/29/23 UPDATED ENTRY

Edna Pearl’s surgery went well.  She had her knee replaced and was home by early afternoon.  In the meanwhile, Phil was at another hospital and got a great report from his test.  Praise the Lord!  Keep praying for Phil & Edna Pearl.

Clara Broadus just called to let me know that Andy Hamil has basically spent the day in an urgent care facility and is now being transported to a hospital.  He thought he had heartburn but it appears the medical folks are not buying that.  Pray for Andy & Betty.

Stacey Dyess came by the house and got some of the supplies needed for the barbecue fellowship (cake auction) this Sunday.  He casually mentioned that it would be great if folks would bring homemade ice cream for dessert.  Any takers?  If so, that will be great!

Urgent need for some folks to help mow/bush hog the back forty for this Sunday’s gathering.  I am not sure if we had any takers today.  Guys, can/will you help?  Thank you!

THURSDAY, 6/29/23

Good Thursday morning from the hospital waiting room.  Edna Pearl Morgan has been taken back to get ready for her knee replacement surgery.  If all goes well she will be discharged later today.  Pray for Edna.

In the meanwhile, Edna’s husband, Phil, is at another hospital having tests performed on a previously discovered issue.  Pray that all goes well with Phil too.

Robert Baria has been diagnosed with a malignancy.  He has been suffering with much pain due to this problem.  Pray for Robert & Roseanne as they move forward.

Chelsea Staup shared with us yesterday that the doctor plans on her giving birth next Wednesday, 7/5.  Pray that everything goes according to plan.

Chuck Rockwell passed his swallowing test yesterday – praise the Lord!  He and Beth are happy campers! Keep praying for Chuck!

Let me share with you the spirit of the cake auction.  One person mentioned to me this past Sunday that she plans on bidding on a cake but, if she does not get a cake, she will give her money as a donation because she understands the cause.  This person is spot on in this regard!

One of our senior adult ladies sent me the sweetest note regarding the auction expressing her desire to be part of it but physical issues will not let that happen.  So, what did she do?  She sent a nice check to be donated to the cause!

Another person contacted me to share that they had been blessed financially this week and their response was, “that is money to purchase cakes through the auction in order to help feed others!”  Folks, these are but three examples of how we should view the opportunity this cake auction presents to us.  I am humbled and grateful.

Speaking of the cake auction, if you are baking a cake/pie and it does not need to be refrigerated, you can bring it to the coffee room in the adult Bible study building Sunday morning before Sunday School.  If you do not bring it then, all cakes need to be in the CAB by 3:00PM Sunday, please.  There will be a silent auction prior to the live auction and we need to have everything in order.  The silent auction will begin at 4:30PM.  The auction will go live at 5:00PM with two or three cakes and then get serious at 6:00PMish.  Plans are to auction Miss Vinnie Brewer’s cake around 6:45 – 7:00PM.  Supper begins right at 5:00PM.  Come one, come all.

I have written a letter that was mailed yesterday but the electronic version did not go out due to our changing systems.  Hopefully, Bro. Jerry & Bro. Dylan will be able to get it out today.  You can help by contacting them with your email address if you want to receive a copy.

I pray that you will have a great Thursday with Jesus.

WEDNESDAY, 6/28/23

First, thank you to Cecil Guidry for pointing out a mistake in yesterday’s entry.  Folks, I am living proof that you cannot fix stupid!  Just saying!

Second, Edna Pearl’s knee replacement has been moved to tomorrow morning.  Pray that all will go well.

Chuck Rockwell will have another swallowing test today.  Pray that he will pass this test so he can eat and drink again.

Robert Baria continues to need our prayer support.  The plan is for him to give an update in our morning service today.

Regular schedule on our campus this morning and evening.

Looking forward to a great cake auction this Sunday evening beginning at 5:00PM and ending at dark thirty with a fireworks show by Gary & Rachel Walton.  It is going to be great.  We need the members of the Friendship family to bring a side and dessert.  Enough for your family plus two.  Stacey & Gayla Dyess will cook the meat and baked beans.  Plan to join us for a great evening of food, fun and fellowship all the while helping a great cause.

Evangelist Michael Mason will be our guest on Sunday morning, July 9.  Our VBS rally will take place that evening beginning at 5:00PM.  Pray for this special day.

Urgent need – our Kubota mower is out for the time being and the back forty needs to be cut before this Sunday.  So, any persons with a big mower (not Keith & Aninha) and/or bush hog is asked to come help with some or all.  Just come at your leisure but you might want to check before coming to make sure what is left to cut.  Thank you in advance to those who will help.

Plus One is our theme for Sunday morning, July 30th.  We will be joining our friends at the Grand Bay Church of God for an evening of worship through song that night.  Big day.  Make plans to join us!

I pray that you will have a great Wednesday with Jesus!

TUESDAY, 6/27/23

Yes, this is a blog entry.  Surprise, surprise, surprise!  I spent twelve days in Guatemala in which time I was mostly silent when it comes to blogging.  Good news is that things were fairly quiet around here during those days.  Praise the Lord!

I ask that you join me in continuing to pray for Robert Baria, Chuck Rockwell and Grady Walker.  It is my understanding that Edna Pearl Morgan will have knee replacement surgery on Monday, July 3.  Pray for all to go well.

We were blessed with a good day in our services this past Sunday.  As a seemingly direct result of our evening service, we had a good number of our folks sign up for either our December ’23 or June ’24 GRACE trips.  We now have only a spot or two open on the December trip so if you are interested in joining us November 28 – December 5 then now is the time to sign up.  First come, first served.

Our focus this week is on the cake auction which will take place Sunday night, 7/2, beginning at 5:00PM and ending with a fireworks celebration, coordinated by Gary & Rachel Walton, beginning at dark thirty.  Stacey & Gayla Dyess are coordinating the cooking of the barbecue and beans.  We need the members of the Friendship family to bring the other trimmings plus desserts.  We need folks to come with plans to help us raise an incredible amount of financial support for feeding the families involved in Colegio JET school.  Contact me for more information.

Regular schedule on our campus tomorrow morning and evening.

I pray that you will have a great Tuesday with Jesus.

Regular schedule on our campus this morning and evening.  Praying for folks to be faithful to attend.

Elizabeth Sessions has fresh produce from the church’s garden.  Senior adults, contact her is you want some fresh vegetables.

Bro. Dylan, chaperones and our students will soon be heading to Clinton, MS and Centrifuge.  Pray for safe travels and for a meaningful week spiritually for them.  They return home on Saturday.

Rita Boutwell is having a surgical procedure this morning.  Pray that all goes well and she will have a quick recovery.

Jonathan Jordan is having a surgical procedure today too.  Pray all goes well.

“Plus One” is our emphasis for Sunday, July 30.  Pray, attend and bring someone with you.

Our cake auction is shaping up to be an awesome evening.  Thank you to all who are going to help in any way!

The Lord blessed us with a really good day in our services yesterday.  “The Heart of the Family” service was special.  The comments have been very encouraging and supportive.  We praise God for His blessings.  Bro. Dylan did a nice job of sharing the Word with us last night.  Good attendance and a sweet spirit.  Thank you Jesus!

I pray that you will have a great Monday with Jesus.
