THURSDAY, 3/31/22

After the morning service yesterday, I made my way to the hospice facility to visit with Dale Gaulden and family.  Dale was resting comfortably but it was obvious that physical death was lingering at the door.  Around 1:30PM yesterday, Dale passed from this life.  Pray for his wife, Grace, and the rest of his family.  I am very thankful to have known Dale.  He was very kind to my family and me.

I received an unspoken prayer request yesterday afternoon.  It is a very serious situation but cannot be made public at this point.  God knows so please join me in praying.

Lisa is scheduled to arrive home late tonight.  Pray for traveling mercies, please.

Good day in our services yesterday.  I am thankful to God for His blessings!

Wow, the GRACE Ministries tumblers went quickly.  As a matter of fact, there are only four black tumblers left.  If you want one of those then I would suggest you email me and I will hold it for you until Sunday.  Yes, I plan on placing one more order in the near future.

The decision has been made to delay the presentation of the church budget until Sunday, April 10.  Too much happening this Sunday.

Ordination for Eddie Albritton this Sunday evening beginning at 6:00PM.  Ordination council will meet at 4:00PM.  Regular deacons meeting at 5:00PM.

I pray that you will have a great Thursday with Jesus.

A THANK YOU FROM EDNA

“A special “Thank You” to the Friendship Church family and friends for an awesome 50th Anniversary recognition as church secretary. Thank you for all the calls, cards, gifts, and most of all your love though the years. It has been such a wonderful experience working alongside Bro. Robbie, Bro. Teddy, Bro. Jerry, Bro. Abel, and Miss Kittie whom I greatly appreciate as they are all servants of God.

A special “Thank You” also goes to Katelyn Johnson and her crew as she/they planned and put together my Anniversary fellowship. “Thank you” to all of you who came and took time to make this day special for me.

I am humbled and grateful for the lovely necklace/pendant given to me by the church family. It’s absolutely beautiful!

I am looking forward to continuing my serving and walking with the Lord as He leads!”

Love,

Edna Grace Miller Holifield Glover

WEDNESDAY, 3/30/22

This entry is late.  No excuse except to say that Jamie Jordan had asked to write today’s blog entry but I cannot wait on her any longer!  Just saying!

Dale Gaulden is seemingly at death’s door.  I noticed a huge change when I visited him yesterday morning.  Honestly, I expect a message any moment to say that he has passed from this life.  My plan is to visit him again as soon as our morning service is over.  Pray for Dale.  Pray for his wife, Grace and the rest of the family.

Yesterday was “get out of the hospital day!”  Miss Ida Mae Jowers, Ann Clark and Carter Busby were all discharged yesterday.  Praise the Lord!  Thank you for praying!

Tim & Peggy Knighten became grandparents again yesterday as Kara gave birth to Carter Jay Phillips.  He checked in at seven pounds and four ounces and is twenty and one half inches long.  Mother & son are doing great!

Speaking of Tim, he has a meeting with his oncologist tomorrow.  Pray for that to go well.

Steve & Virginia made it to Iowa.  They will return home on Saturday even though the service for Virginia’s mother will not place until next Monday.  Steve has a biopsy on Monday and it really does not need to be delayed any longer.  Pray for Steve & Virginia.

I continue to pray for Jeanette Bates in her recovery.

All is well in Guatemala.  The economy will boom today as Lisa is in Antigua all day!  (Lee Fore and Joey Switzer – how about helping a brother!)

Regular schedule on our campus this morning and tonight.

Deacon ordination for Eddie Albritton this Sunday evening, 4/3, at 6:00PM.

I think the winner of the UNC vs Duke game will win it all.  While I am not a fan of Coach K, it would only be fitting for him to go out on top.  (It hurts to write that!)

I pray that you will have a great Wednesday with Jesus!

TUESDAY, 3/29/22

“Why did you not blog today?” is the question that came to me from my wife last night.  She let me know that she is out of the country but wants to keep up with what is happening in Grand Bay, Alabama and around the world!  I cannot repeat my reply but suffice it to say that she got my message loud and clear!  (Something like that!  LOL!).

The visitation with the Diane Enriquez family takes place today from 10:00AM until noon.  The celebration of life service begins at noon.  The visitation and service will take place at the First Assembly of God in Grand Bay.  Pray for the family and for the service.

Carter Busby is the ten year old daughter of Brad & Kim Busby.  She slipped and fell late Sunday night in their home.  They took her to the hospital where she was transferred to another hospital and then transferred to a third hospital early yesterday morning.  Security was done to repair the broken hip and then a screw was placed in her other hip.  Surgery went well as far as I know.  Carter remains in the hospital.  Pray for her quick and complete recovery.

Dale Gaulden remains in a hospice facility.  He remains non-communicative and was very restless whenever I visited with him yesterday.  Pray for Dale and his family.

Angie Bentley’s mother, Miss Ida Mae Jowers, was hospitalized Sunday evening.  She was scheduled for a test yesterday afternoon to help the doctors determine the exact cause of her problem.  Pray for Miss Ida Mae.

My mother-in-law, Ann Clark, was hospitalized yesterday morning.  Running low on some necessary levels.  I “think” she may be sent home today after getting juiced up through an IV.  Pray for Ann.

Jeanette Bates continues her recovery at home.  Pray for all to go well.

Debbie Hyatt is receiving physical therapy at home.  She is better but still has a ways to go in her complete recovery.  Pray for Debbie.

Steve and Virginia Morris will travel to Iowa today.  The arrangements for Virginia’s mother will be finalized today.  Pray for traveling mercies for Steve & Virginia.  They will fly home this Saturday regardless of the arrangements as Steve has a biopsy this Monday, 4/4.

Tim Knighten did a biopsy this past Friday.  Waiting on the results.  Keep praying for Tim & Peggy.

Our daughter, Daphne, made it to Guatemala last night after some traveling hiccups.  She has a Father who cares!  Pray for Daphne and the team in Guatemala as they will host medical clinics over the next few days.

A huge “thank you” to Katelyn Johnson for coordinating the anniversary celebration for Miss Edna.  It was well done. Thanks to those who helped Katelyn in any way.  A nice evening of appreciation.

Regular schedule on our campus tomorrow morning and evening.

Ordination service for Eddie Albritton this Sunday evening beginning at 6:00PM.

Lisa is scheduled to arrive home late this Thursday night, 3/31/.  Does anyone know of a good house cleaning service in Grand Bay?  One with a dump truck?  Asking for a friend!

I pray that you will have a great Tuesday with Jesus.

SUNDAY, 3/27/22

We are on a regular schedule on our campus this morning with worship, Sunday School and worship.  I am “glad” to be going to church!  Anyone with me?  I pray so!

Tonight, we will use the time between 5:00PM and 7:00PM to honor God by recognizing Miss Edna Grace Miller Holifield Glover for her fifty years of service to the Friendship family as our church secretary.  The main emphasis will take place around the 6:00PM hour.  Everything will take place in the CAB.

The arrangements for Diane Enriquez are as follows:  visitation with the family on Tuesday, 3/29, from 10:00AM until the noon service time.  Everything will take place from the First Assembly of God in Grand Bay.  Pray for the Enriquez family including our own, Carol Lucky.

The arrangements have not been finalized for Virginia Morris’ mother.  The family cannot even meet with the funeral directors until Tuesday.  So, Steve & Virginia will fly to Iowa this Tuesday, 3/29, and return home on Saturday, 4/2, as Steve has a biopsy scheduled for Monday, 4/4.  Pray for Steve & Virginia.

The number one question that I have been asked the past two days is, “heard anything from Tim Knighten’s biopsy?”  I have not and I assume neither has Tim.  Just keep praying.

Debbie Hyatt can now put some weight on her injured leg.  She has moved home so that is a good thing.  Pray for Debbie.

Dale Gaulden has been moved to a hospice facility.  It was tough on me seeing Dale in his present condition.  Pray for Grace and the rest of the family.

Jeanette Bates continues to recover at home.  Keep praying.  She will be missed in our services today.

The Lord blessed the service at the Mission of Hope this past Friday night with three men praying to accept Jesus as their personal Savior.  I am told that Andy Hamil did an awesome job of sharing his testimony.  I know Betty did well singing!  (Leslee probably did ok sharing the special music too – LOL!)

I am told opening day of soccer went well.  I was outside working in the yard and I could hear it – sounded like it was great!  Thanks to Bro. Abel and all who were involved.

This just in – the Guatemala economy is soaring!

I am in charge of breakfast for our Sunday School class this morning so I best get in the kitchen!  I much prefer Rhett’s corn beef hash but it is what it is!

I pray that you will have a great Sunday with Jesus.

FRIDAY EVENING UPDATE

Steve Morris contacted me this morning to share that Virginia’s mother has passed from this life.  The arrangements are incomplete at this time.  Steve has rescheduled his biopsy from this Monday, 3/28, to the following Monday, 4/4.  He and Virginia will be flying to Iowa.  Pray for Virginia and family during this time.

I attended the celebration of life for Kim Busby’s mother and upon returning home was met with the news that I was needed at the hospital.  A great friend from years gone by, Dale Gaulden, has been in the hospital since Wednesday, 3/16, and non-responsive.  I spent some time with his wife, Grace, and prayed with Dale.  I received word earlier tonight that Dale is being transferred to a hospice facility in Mobile.  Pray for Dale and his family.

Spoke to Carol Lucky tonight.  Diane’s family will go to the funeral home tomorrow to finalize the arrangements.  Keep praying for the Enriquez family

Carol Lucky called this morning to let me know that her sister, Diane Enriquez, passed from this life and entered Heaven at 2:30AM today.  Diane is now in the presence of Jesus.  Pray for her husband, children and the rest of the family as they walk through this valley.  Arrangements pending.

FRIDAY, 3/25/22

Good morning on this absolute beautiful Friday where the current temperature in Grand Bay is fifty degrees headed to an afternoon high of seventy-four degrees.  Sunny skies and low humidity!  Thank you, Jesus.

Bro. Abel tells me that the opening festivities for our soccer leagues were a success last night.  There were probably six hundred or so in attendance and Bro. Abel shared the Gospel of Jesus with the group.  Opening day is tomorrow beginning at 9:00AM.  Pray for this ministry.

No updates on those for whom we have been praying.  Tim Knighten’s biopsy takes place today.  Pray for Tim and all of the others.

The Friendship family will host a service at the Mission of Hope tonight beginning at 7:00PM.  Bro. Andy Hamil will be preaching and Miss Betty Hamil will be singing!  Everyone invited!

Regular schedule on our campus Sunday morning.  I am praying for the Friendship family to be “GLAD” to be there and to show up in strong numbers.

Anniversary celebration for Miss Edna from 5:00 – 7:00PM on Sunday.  Everything will take place in the CAB.  Main time will be around the 6:00PM hour.  Thank God for Miss Edna.

Lisa arrived safe and sound into Guatemala.  I am thankful.  I miss her being here but am thankful for the time she will have there.  Our daughter, Daphne, leaves Monday to join them as she is co-hosting a medical team from the University.  Old home week or something like that!

I was not surprised to see Arkansas win last night.  Tonight will see the end of the line for St. Peters.  I am leaning toward UNC winning it all.

I pray that your Friday will be great with Jesus.

THURSDAY, 3/24/22

Steve Morris is scheduled to have a biopsy this Monday, 3/28, and then meet with his doctor the following Monday.  Word came to Steve & Virginia yesterday afternoon that Virginia’s mother in Iowa is not doing well.  This puts Steve & Virginia in a tough spot.  Pray for them to have wisdom as to what to do.  Pray for Steve.  Pray for Virginia’s mother.

Saw Tim Knighten after the service last night.  I am telling you that Tim has a strong faith.  A biopsy will be performed tomorrow.  Pray that all goes well.

Jeanette Bates is rehabbing at home.  It seems that all is well.  Keep praying.

Continue to pray for Diane Enriquez as she remains under hospice care at home.  Pray for her family.  Pray for Carol.

Marisa Felps messaged me last night to say that Donnie was doing well but now some new issues have arisen.  Donnie is scheduled to see the doctor on Tuesday, 3/29.  Pray for Donnie.  Pray for Marisa.

Talked to Henry Wyse yesterday afternoon and his father-in-law, Jack Dowdy, is some better.  Pray for Jack and his family.

The visitation with Kim Busby and her family takes place tomorrow morning from 10:00AM until noon at Serenity Funeral Home.  The celebration of life service for her mother, Mrs. Sylvia Clarke, will begin at noon.  Pray for Kim and her family.

What a nice day in our services yesterday.  Following last night’s service, the folks would not leave but were simply enjoying spending time in fellowship with one another.  That is a most positive sign!

Anniversary celebration for Miss Edna this Sunday from 5:00 – 7:00PM.  This will be a “come and go” event with the main focus taking place around 6:00PM.

Regular schedule on our campus this Sunday morning.

Soccer opening festivities tonight.  Opening day this Saturday.

I am about to take Lisa to the airport as she will spend the next eight days in Guatemala with Soy, Deidra and the girls.  Lisa is excited and I am excited for her.

Speaking of Guatemala, we still have a few openings for our June & July GRACE Ministries trips.  Contact me yesterday!

I pray that you will have a great Thursday with Jesus.

The doctor decided to keep Jeanette in the hospital for one night.  She has already taken some steps and is doing well.  Keep praying!

I have not gotten any word from Tim Knighten.  Just keep praying.

Diane Enriquez did get home late yesterday afternoon and is now on hospice care.  Pray for Diane and her family.

Eddie Albritton’s doctor says there is a small blockage.  They will treat it with medication for two weeks and then take another look.  Possible heart cath down the road.

Sue Wyse’s father, Jack Dowdy, needs our prayer support.

Kim Busby’s mother, Mrs. Clarke, passed from this life on Monday morning.  There will be a visitation with the family this Friday, 3/25, from 10:00AM until the noon service time at Serenity Funeral Home.  Pray for Kim and family during this time.
