MONDAY, 7/28/14

Today’s Bible reading – 2 Chronicles 21:1-23:21 Romans 11:13-36 Psalm 22:1-18 Proverbs 20:7

On the revival prayer point today –  Charles Grant, Wanda Jordan, Kim Tillman    wade@wademorris.com

I am told that the services went very well yesterday.  I appreciate Bro. Jerry & Bro. Jim filling in for me.

The love offering for Soy & Deidra was slightly over $1,900.  Thank you for giving them your financial support.  They are scheduled to arrive home on Thursday afternoon.

Received an e-mail update from Paul Leytham regarding Cristy Leytham.  The doctor is in hopes of getting her to a place where he can send her to her home in Chimaltenango today.  If not, I assume she will continue at Robert’s house in the city.  She remains physically weak.  Keep praying for her, Paul and the family.

Lisa, Dana, Gina and I attended the Emmanuel International Church service yesterday morning.  They have two morning services and we went to the earliest one which did not begin until 10:00AM.  We took the subway to a bus stop and then rode a bus for about twenty minutes in order to get there.  The church membership is truly “international”, the music was good even though they do not have a worship leader at the present time, and Pastor Norman brought a good message on “I Believe in God” as he is going through a series of “I Believe” messages.  He presented the Roman Road.

I have been amazed by one thing in this country.  Basically, nothing is open on Sundays.  No department stores, little shops, et cetera.  Wow, I wish the USA could take a cue on that one!

They also had some bicycle race taking place yesterday.  I am not for certain but I think they probably had more folks watching that race than are gathered when Ross Hatcher is involved in one.  Maybe not.

I pray that you will have a great Monday with Jesus.  Pray for revival!

SUNDAY, 7/27/14

The Bible reading for today and those on the revival prayer point are listed in earlier posts.  Please check them.

It is Sunday morning and we are about to leave for a church service.  My prayer is that many members of the Friendship family will be doing the same in a few hours.  Bro. Jerry will be preaching this morning and Jim Chinners tonight.

Received an e-mail from Mario Monroy.  The baby was born on Friday and is doing well.  Amuy will be in the hospital for a few days but is doing well all things considered.

I pray that you will have a great Sunday with Jesus.  Pray for revival.

FRIDAY, 7/25/14

Today’s Bible reading – 2 Chronicles 14:1-16:14 Romans 9:1-24 Psalm 19:1-14 Proverbs 20:1

Saturday, 7/26 – 2 Chronicles 17:1-18:34 Romans 9:25-10:13 Psalm 20:1-9 Proverbs 20:2-3

Sunday, 7/27 – 2 Chronicles 19:1-20:37 Romans 10:14-11:12 Psalm 21:1-13 Proverbs 20:4-6

On the revival prayer point today – Tina Sprinkle, Terry & Carol Lucky

Saturday, 7/26 – Ethan & Brittney Nelson, Dale Bosarge

Sunday, 7/27 – Jo Nell Barnes, Charles & Ann Clark

I made a mistake (audible gasp)!  I posted the entire roster for the forty days of prayer with the intent of seeing if I had left anyone off who had signed up.  It worked as I did!  Soy & Deidra had signed up via iMessage and I totally forgot to put them on the list.  They are on there now.  Anyone else?  Anyone else want to be added.  It is not against the rules to have more than three folks praying each day.  Let me hear from you.  Thanks!

Martha Patrick was doing well yesterday and expects to be moved to another facility today.

I did not get an update on Jack Sims but “no news  is good news” applies here.

Paul Seymour was involved in a job related accident yesterday and basically crushed one of his fingers.  He sees another doctor today.

Today marks an unusual two week period in my life.  Lisa, Dana, Gina and I leave on vacation day and we are headed to Paris.  From there I will fly to Guatemala for the final GRACE Ministries trip of the Summer.  Translated, that means I will miss the next two Sundays which marks only the third time in my thirty five years of ministry here that I have done that.  It is not something I like at all!  If I had a choice such as I did on our Holy Land trip last year, it would not be happening.  However, it is what it is.

Bro. Jerry will be preaching the Sunday morning services and Wednesday services.  Jim Chinners and Edwin Williams will be preaching in the Sunday evening services.  Bro. Chris will handle the Saturday night services.  As always, my prayer is that the members of the Friendship family will be faithful in all areas.

Special thanks to Bro. Chris for getting the website back up and running.  Took him a little longer than it would have taken me but he did his best!  He is learning!

I do not know how much I will blog over the next few days.  Some of that depends on what updates I receive, internet access, et cetera.  I am about to post the Monday, 7/28 – Sunday, 8/3 daily Bible readings just in case.

I pray that you will have a great Friday with Jesus.  Pray for revival.

THURSDAY, 7/24/14

Today’s Bible reading – 2 Chronicles 11:1-13:22 Romans 8:26-39 Psalm 18:37-50 Proverbs 19:27-29

On the revival prayer point today – Glenda Chinners, Raymond & Tina Wilkinson

We were blessed with a good day in our services yesterday/last night.

Visited Martha Patrick in the hospital yesterday.  They have not diagnosed her problem.  She seemed to be doing fairly well.

Word is that Jack Sims is doing well.  The expectation is that he will be discharged from the hospital Sunday or Monday if everything goes as planned.

I pray that you will have a great Thursday with Jesus.  Pray for revival!

WEDNESDAY, 7/23/14

Today’s Bible reading – 2 Chronicles 8:11-10:19 Romans 8:9-25 Psalm 18:16-36 Proverbs 19:26

On the revival prayer point today – Beth Bradley, Katie Tillman, Lisa Turrentine     wade@wademorris.com

Martha Patrick remains hospitalized.  I will visit today and get an update.

Jack Sims did very well through his surgery yesterday.  He is expected to remain in the hospital for several days.

Cristy Leytham was discharged from the hospital yesterday.  It is my understanding that another doctor has come in and wants to do some things to help her.  Not sure of all of that but to ask you to keep praying.

We are on a regular schedule this morning and tonight.

Bro. Chris tells me that it is going to take some time before the website is up and running again.  He is having to basically rebuild it.  I could probably get it done much quicker but he needs the experience.

I pray that you will have a great Wednesday with Jesus.  Pray for revival!

TUESDAY, 7/22/14

Today’s Bible reading – 2 Chronicles 6:12-8:10 Romans 7:14-8:8 Psalm 18:1-15 Proverbs 19:24-25

On the revival prayer point today – Tyrone Crawley, Ben & Diane Vickers     wade@wademorris.com

On the revival prayer point tomorrow, 7/23 – Beth Bradley, Katie Tillman, Lisa Turrentine

Jack Sims will be having surgery today.

Martha Patrick was admitted to the hospital late yesterday afternoon.

Kathleen Henderson was in the hospital over the weekend but was discharged before I got to see her yesterday.

Cristy Leytham was not discharged from the hospital yesterday but is supposed to go to her son’s house in the city today.  She is very weak.

Bro. Johnny Tucker got a good report from the doctor yesterday and will not have to have his defibrillator replaced at this point in time.

We are on a regular schedule tomorrow morning and evening.

This coming Sunday, 7/27, is the final Sunday of this church year.  It is my  prayer that we will finish strong. I pray that each member of the Friendship family who is in town will be in his/her rightful place for Bible study and worship.

Bro. Chris will begin working to restore our website today.  I have now heard from all eight of our readers and they are ready for us to get back up and running.  When will that happen?  Time will tell.  The pressure is on Bro. Chris.

I pray that you will have a great Tuesday with Jesus.  Pray for revival!

We enjoyed a good day in our services yesterday.  Once again, there was a liberty to preach.  I thought the folks who shared about their GRACE trip did a very nice job.  We thank God for His blessings throughout the day.

The memorial service for Earl Kirschenman went well.  Thank you to those who attended and to those who helped with the food.  A special “thank you” to Miss Vinnie Brewer for coordinating this ministry.

The proposed budget for 2014 – 15 was adopted last night.  I appreciate the hard work of our Finance Committee  members.  We thank God for His continued blessings in the financial area.

Bro. Johnny Tucker meets with his doctor this morning to see if his defibrillator needs to be replaced.

Word came from Rita Broome last night that Cristy Leytham’s cancer has now spread to even more parts of her body.  She is supposed to be discharged from the hospital today.  There is really nothing more that can be done by her staying in the hospital.

It was encouraging to see Robert Baria in our morning service yesterday.  It was also good to have Gene & Gena Davis in the morning service – seemed to be right where they belong!

Obviously, our website remains down.  Bro. Chris will work on it this week.  In the meanwhile, would you tell others how you accessed the blog?  We shared it in our service last night but those who were not present may not know.

I mentioned seven bones in the church yesterday.  Someone came to me after one of the services and said “I am a hip bone” and then proceeded to make things right.  Which bone are you?

I pray that you will have a great Monday with Jesus.
