THURSDAY, 6/29/23 UPDATED ENTRY

Edna Pearl’s surgery went well.  She had her knee replaced and was home by early afternoon.  In the meanwhile, Phil was at another hospital and got a great report from his test.  Praise the Lord!  Keep praying for Phil & Edna Pearl.

Clara Broadus just called to let me know that Andy Hamil has basically spent the day in an urgent care facility and is now being transported to a hospital.  He thought he had heartburn but it appears the medical folks are not buying that.  Pray for Andy & Betty.

Stacey Dyess came by the house and got some of the supplies needed for the barbecue fellowship (cake auction) this Sunday.  He casually mentioned that it would be great if folks would bring homemade ice cream for dessert.  Any takers?  If so, that will be great!

Urgent need for some folks to help mow/bush hog the back forty for this Sunday’s gathering.  I am not sure if we had any takers today.  Guys, can/will you help?  Thank you!

THURSDAY, 6/29/23

Good Thursday morning from the hospital waiting room.  Edna Pearl Morgan has been taken back to get ready for her knee replacement surgery.  If all goes well she will be discharged later today.  Pray for Edna.

In the meanwhile, Edna’s husband, Phil, is at another hospital having tests performed on a previously discovered issue.  Pray that all goes well with Phil too.

Robert Baria has been diagnosed with a malignancy.  He has been suffering with much pain due to this problem.  Pray for Robert & Roseanne as they move forward.

Chelsea Staup shared with us yesterday that the doctor plans on her giving birth next Wednesday, 7/5.  Pray that everything goes according to plan.

Chuck Rockwell passed his swallowing test yesterday – praise the Lord!  He and Beth are happy campers! Keep praying for Chuck!

Let me share with you the spirit of the cake auction.  One person mentioned to me this past Sunday that she plans on bidding on a cake but, if she does not get a cake, she will give her money as a donation because she understands the cause.  This person is spot on in this regard!

One of our senior adult ladies sent me the sweetest note regarding the auction expressing her desire to be part of it but physical issues will not let that happen.  So, what did she do?  She sent a nice check to be donated to the cause!

Another person contacted me to share that they had been blessed financially this week and their response was, “that is money to purchase cakes through the auction in order to help feed others!”  Folks, these are but three examples of how we should view the opportunity this cake auction presents to us.  I am humbled and grateful.

Speaking of the cake auction, if you are baking a cake/pie and it does not need to be refrigerated, you can bring it to the coffee room in the adult Bible study building Sunday morning before Sunday School.  If you do not bring it then, all cakes need to be in the CAB by 3:00PM Sunday, please.  There will be a silent auction prior to the live auction and we need to have everything in order.  The silent auction will begin at 4:30PM.  The auction will go live at 5:00PM with two or three cakes and then get serious at 6:00PMish.  Plans are to auction Miss Vinnie Brewer’s cake around 6:45 – 7:00PM.  Supper begins right at 5:00PM.  Come one, come all.

I have written a letter that was mailed yesterday but the electronic version did not go out due to our changing systems.  Hopefully, Bro. Jerry & Bro. Dylan will be able to get it out today.  You can help by contacting them with your email address if you want to receive a copy.

I pray that you will have a great Thursday with Jesus.
