SATURDAY, 11/5/11

It is 7:45AM and I just spoke to Megan “Bo” Older about Miss Louise Morris.  The situation remains unchanged.  Louise is very low.  Keep praying.

The arrangements for Lee’s mother, Miss Audrey Sessions, are as follows:  visitation tonight from 5:00 – 8:00PM from Serenity Funeral Home.  A second visitation will take place tomorrow afternoon from 2:00PM until the 3:00PM service time at Serenity.  Pray for the Sessions family.

Do not forget to set your clocks “back” one hour tonight as this is time change weekend.

Lord willing, I will see many of you in our services tomorrow.  Have a great Saturday with Jesus!

FRIDAY, 11/4/11

Miss Audrey Sessions, Lee’s mother, passed away yesterday afternoon.  As of this time, the arrangements are incomplete.  Pray for the Sessions family.

I updated yesterday’s entry so I will not repeat myself.  Bobby Stork’s mother remains hospitalized as does Jim Brannon.  Carla received her treatment.  Phil Morgan sees the doctor today.

Both Gage & Miss Louise remain at home.  Louise’s passing appears imminent.  Pray for these two and their families.

Chris & Nicole were told the gender of their baby yesterday.  It is either a girl or boy!

The baby shower for Jay & Rebecca Bates Taylor takes place tomorrow from 10:00AM – noon at the home of Bro. Jerry & Tena Hovel.  She is registered at Target, Babies R Us, a boutique in Bayou La Batre, and Greers.  All ladies of the Friendship family are invited to attend this shower.

Time changes tomorrow night so remember to “fall back” one hour before going to bed.

Lord willing, Lisa and I will be in Tuscaloosa tomorrow night for the game.  I really need for Soyetta to remain in the womb until at least Sunday morning!

Remember, “turkey days” are here this Sunday, 11/6, and next, 11/13.  Will you join Lisa and me by donating a frozen turkey?  We need 72 more!  Thanks!

I pray that you will have a great weekend with Jesus.

THURSDAY, 11/3/11 (UPDATED)

Visited briefly with Louise Morris yesterday following our morning service.  She was awake but non-responsive.  Her blood pressure is running low.  It is now 2:00PM and I just visited with Louise.  The medical personnel feels that her passing could come today but certainly before the weekend is up.

Phil Morgan has a mass in his neck that is pressing against the carotid artery.  He sees a doctor tomorrow but has already been told that it has to be surgically removed.

Pattie added a comment to yesterday’s post updating us on Gage’s condition.  No major changes there.

Carla Kyser has a treatment this morning.

Earl Gunter and Jim Brannon were both placed in regular hospital rooms yesterday afternoon.  Earl did come home today and Jim maybe tomorrow or Saturday.

Bobby Stork’s mother fell on Monday and broke her leg.  She is 84 years of age.  They did one surgical procedure yesterday in order to do surgery on her leg today.  Folks, it is very bad break.  The surgery went well as they inserted a plate and screws. Pray for all of these folks!

We had a good day in our services yesterday/last night.  We give God the praise!

We are having “turkey days” for the next two Sundays, 11/6 & 11/13.  What?  We need you to bring a frozen turkey to church as we need 75 turkeys for the community senior adult Thanksgiving meal, the bus ministry meal, and the Thanksgiving/Christmas baskets for the less fortunate.  Place them on the counter in the fellowship hall.  Thanks!  Lisa and I bought our turkey today and brought it to the church.  Will you join us in this effort?

Enough already!  I am tired of the talking heads “breaking down” the Alabama & LSU game!  I am an Alabama fan but enough is enough!  I realize folks like Kyle Bryant and Ross Hatcher cannot get enough of it but I have!  Play the game!

Speaking of football, congratulations to the Bryant team on making the state playoffs.  They travel to Prattville for a game tomorrow night.

I pray that you will have a great Thursday with Jesus!

P.S. – Do not forget that time changes this Saturday night!  Fall back one hour!

WEDNESDAY, 11/2/11

Earl Gunter took a fall yesterday morning while getting ready to leave for his daily radiation treatment.  They took him to the hospital and it has been determined that he has a blood clot(s?) in his lungs.  They did a procedure and my understanding is that he is in ICU.  Bro. Kerry was there with him, Miss Hilda and the family.

Jim Brannon and family had a long day yesterday as his surgery was delayed until around 3:00PM.  He did well through the surgery and will remain in the hospital for a couple of days.

Jeanette Bates e-mailed requesting prayer for her mother, Miss Kittie Camp.  Miss Kittie was taken to the emergency room on Sunday morning but the tests results all came back good.  As I understood it, they found nothing wrong, gave her an aspirin, and sent her home.  The doctor was amazed that she is not on any medications.  I tried to call Miss Kittie yesterday but did not make contact.  I will check with her today to see if there has been any changes in her condition.  Edna called her on Monday and she was to see her doctor in December.  I hope the report is still good.

Speaking of Jeanette, I remind the ladies of the Friendship family that there will be a baby shower for Jay & Rebecca Taylor this Saturday, 11/5, from 10:00AM – noon at the home of Bro. Jerry & Miss Tena Hovel.  I do not know where they are registered but you can call the church office to find out.

We are on a regular schedule today with the morning service and the evening activities.  Hope many members of the Friendship family will join us.

I pray that you will have a great Wednesday with Jesus.

TUESDAY, 11/1/11

It seemed to me that the Hallelujah Festival went very well.  There was a good crowd and everyone seemed to have a good time.  I appreciate Bro. Benny & Vera Bosarge leading this ministry opportunity and the list of those who helped is way too long to mention.  However, I can say a big “thank you” to each person who had any part in making it a success.

Wow, the first ten months of 2011 are now history!  Hard to believe!  I gotta go start/finish my Christmas shopping as it will be here tomorrow!  Hope you have a great Tuesday with Jesus!
