TUESDAY, 8/13/13

Scott Weaver’s father, Walter Weaver, passed away on Sunday.  The visitation with the family will take place tomorrow, 8/14, from noon until the 2:00PM service time.  The visitation and service will take place from Serenity Funeral Home.  Pray for Scott, Arlene and family.

Summer McGriff’s baby, Abigail, was discharged from the hospital this past Friday and is doing well.

Phillip Turner’s brother is expected to be moved to an out of town rehab facility within the next day or two.  He is scheduled to be there for three weeks.  Lisa and I visited with the family yesterday and there has been improvement.

Sue Blodgett’s sister, Gail, had a heart cath yesterday and had some stents put in place.  She is in CCU.

Sara Nell Moulds is scheduled to have surgery tomorrow.

Ruby Gulley is scheduled to have surgery tomorrow as well.

Katie Tillman sees her doctor today and could give birth to the baby at some point this week.  She will be scheduled for a c-section.

Did not get to visit the convalescent home yesterday but plan to do so today.

We are on a regular schedule tomorrow morning and evening.  Remember, our evening service begins at 6:30PM.

Soy left yesterday for a night away and we got two dozen yard eggs – amazing!  We only have five chickens!  He will be excited when he comes home.  Please do not tell him that the eggs were given to us by Maria Wainwright but rather just congratulate him on the chickens doing so well!

I pray that you will have a great Tuesday with Jesus.

MONDAY, 8/12/12

The Lord blessed us with a good Sunday as we baptized two in the evening service, had two more come for baptism in the 10:30AM service, and had two join by letter.  God gives the increase and we give Him the glory!

Our attendance was very good too.  We had more in the morning services than last Sunday.  We were down from the previous Sunday in our evening service but still had a very good attendance.  Thank you for being faithful.

Please mark the dates of Sunday, January 12, through Wednesday, January 15, 2014 on your calendars as we will have another series of revival services with Pastor Jack Bailey on those dates.

I have not talked to Phillip Turner in a few days but was told yesterday that his brother may be moved soon to a rehabilitation center.  Keep praying.

I will try to get updates on the others today and report them tomorrow.

The phone system in the church office was struck by lightning last Monday and we still do not have that issue resolved.  The landline phone at our house is out too.  Sorry for the inconvenience.  Hopefully, that can be resolved today.

Soy & Deidra celebrated their 6th wedding anniversary yesterday.  Congratulations!

I pray that you will have a great Monday with Jesus.

FRIDAY, 8/9/13

Good morning from Michigan where the temperature is 55 degrees and the humidity will end up in the 40% range by day’s end.  You talk about some beautiful weather!

Mark Vice came through his surgery with no problems.  He will now have some physical therapy on his hand.  I appreciate Bro. Chris covering that one in my absence.

Carla Kyser got a very good report from her doctor yesterday.  The doctor even used the word “stable” and will stay the course as far as treatments are concerned.  Praise the Lord!

We are in the double digits as far as folks sending an e-mail to Danville Baptist.  My hope is that a good number will e-mail them either today or tomorrow.  The e-mail address is jasonbowling@me.com.  Most of those who have written already have also assured them of their prayer support for tomorrow night’s block party.  Why not stop right now and send that e-mail?  Thanks!

The wedding rehearsal was nice as I am not only serving as the pastor but also as the wedding coordinator.  Thank God that Lisa is with me as I delegated the coordinator position to her!  (If only Deidra was here!)

To my absolute surprise, three Bay Minette girls arrived last night in order to attend the wedding.  They left from Auburn yesterday morning and managed to cram a twelve hour trip into sixteen and one half hours.  Way to go Hope, Kortni and Katie!

I pray that you will have a great Friday with Jesus.

SEND AN E-MAIL TO DANVILLE BAPTIST CHURCH

I am asking the members of the Friendship family to send a brief e-mail message to the members of the Danville Baptist Church family to say “thank you” for sharing Pastor Jack & Miss June with us these past four days.  Send those to jasonbowling@me.com.  He will pass them on to the church family.  Please send them either today, tomorrow, or Saturday.  Please either copy me on the messages or just let me know you have sent one.  Thanks!

THURSDAY, 8/8/13

Kenny Lingle had cataract surgery yesterday which I forgot to mention in yesterday’s entry.  He apparently did well as he was in last night’s service.  I did not get an opportunity to speak to him personally but his mere presence indicated that he did well.

Mark Vice is scheduled for surgery on his hand today.  Bro. Chris is going to be with Mark and his family during this procedure.

Brenda Timberlake has decided to postpone her surgery that was scheduled for today.

Glory to God!  Last night’s service was great!  Again, the music was awesome, the Spirit was excellent, the preaching “spot on” and the attendance was our best of the week.  I simply say “thank you” to the Friendship family as you prayed faithfully, attended the services in great numbers, brought family and friends with you, and gave in a wonderful way to support Bro. Jack’s ministry.

I ask for one more favor (meant to do this last night but totally forgot) – would you take a few moments and send a “thank you” e-mail to the members of the Danville Baptist Church family for sharing their pastor and wife with us for these past few days?  You can address it to the entire church family but please send it to one of their deacons, Jason Bowling, at jasonbowling@me.com.   Do it today, tomorrow, or Saturday and Jason can share it with the entire church family this Sunday, 8/11.  Would you copy me on those e-mails as I have a prayer for a certain number?  Thanks!

Did we have revival?  I think so.  I did!  If attendance and offering are indicators then the collective answer is “yes” as well.  Time will tell and this Sunday will be a huge indicator.  I plan on baptizing Shelby as a part of this Sunday’s evening service.

If you loaned tools to the Danville Baptist student group and have not received them back, please send me an e-mail detailing what you are missing.

Lisa and I fly out his morning headed to Zeeland, Michigan via Detroit.  I will be officiating (most couples I know need an “official” after they get married not the day of their marriage!)  a wedding tomorrow night.  Lord willing, we will arrive home late Saturday afternoon.  I got this gig through our ministry in Guatemala.  Pray for Tim Vander Toorn and Megan Vander Hulst as they become one tomorrow night.

I pray that you will have a great Thursday with Jesus.

WEDNESDAY, 8/7/13

Glory to God!  The service last night was outstanding!  God showed up.  One young lady, Shelby, prayed to received Jesus as her personal Savior.  The Spirit in the service was excellent.  The music was very good.  The preaching was great (again).  The attendance was our best yet.  God is good!

I was very  impressed with those folks who brought family members with them.  Great job!  Thank you to the family members who attended!  Great stuff!

Tonight’s service at 6:30PM marks the end of this series of services.  We will not have our morning service today or any classes tonight with the exception of the nursery.  The attendance for tonight’s service is up to the members of the Friendship family as those who have been attending as our guests will need to be in their own church’s service tonight.  Friendship family, will you be faithful?  I believe so!

I know they are not in the twelve folks who read this blog but I thank Pastor Michael Rowell, Pastor Mel Hacker, and Evangelist Randy (Pam) Byrd for attending the service last night.  These men live “full” lives and for them to take the time to attend the service was a blessing to me personally.

Pray without ceasing today.  Pray for tonight’s service to be a breakthrough service in relation to revival.  Attend!  Invite!  Pray!

I threw Charles under the bus in yesterday’s post and then he went out and bought me a gift – a gas can.  Even filled it with gas and only charged me $4.01 for each gallon!

In the last week or so, Soy has been recognized by a couple of our twelve readers as being “Soy” and they have been blessed to finally meet him.  Soy now has a “following” and he owes it all to this blog!  I am working on a t-shirt for this group!

I pray that you will have a great Wednesday with Jesus.

TUESDAY, 8/6/13

Happy birthday to my mother-in-law, Ann Clark!  I am blessed with a good and godly mother-in-law.  (Lets not talk about father-in-laws!)

A really good service last night.  Pastor Jack brought a good message on the Father from Luke 15.  The folks involved with the music are doing a great job too!  Our pew packers and others did a wonderful job of getting folks to attend.  The house was full and the Spirit was great.  We had some altar decisions and for that we are thankful.

Folks, we must not let up in our praying or attending.  Tonight is “family night” which simply means that we want families to come and sit together during the service.  You may need to encourage a family member or two to join you for the service.  Remember, we begin at 6:30PM but you can come whenever you can.  Pastor Jack will begin preaching around 7:00PM if not shortly before.

Will you pray fervently today?  We need revival.

Phillip Turner’s brother continues to improve.  Keep praying.

The funeral service for Milinda Spiller takes place this morning at 10:00AM from the Grand Bay Church of God.  Pastor Alton Stokes, Pastor Tim Cauley and I will be preaching/sharing during that service.  Pray for that service.

I pray that you will have a great Tuesday with Jesus.

MONDAY, 8/5/13

Phillip Turner’s brother awaken yesterday morning and stayed awake much of the day.  He has a long ways to go but yesterday was a good day.

J.B. Kelley was taken to the hospital yesterday morning.  He was sent home with medications.

Peggy Benefield is scheduled to have a stress test this morning.  Herbert’s sister, Elaine, had a rod inserted into her back several years ago.  It has broken.  She has said that she will not go through another surgery on her back.

Sarah Thornton’s brother-in-law passed away and the funeral service will take place today.

The visitation with the Milinda Spiller family takes place tonight, 8/5, from 6:00PM until 9:00PM at the Grand Bay Church of God.  I am asking the members of the Friendship family to visit after the revival service.

Kenny Lingle is scheduled to have surgery on Wednesday while Mark Vice and Brenda Timberlake are scheduled for surgery on Thursday.  (Is there a “special” on surgeries this week?)  Pray for all of the needs mentioned!

God used Pastor Jack Bailey in our services yesterday.  The Spirit was excellent, the decisions at the altar were numerous, two were baptized last night, the choir did great especially in the evening service, the messages in song were great and the attendance was very good in all three services.  Glory to God!  Thank you for being faithful!

Now comes Monday night.  We have some folks working on “packing a pew” for tonight’s service.  My prayer is that each member of the Friendship family will be faithful for the next three nights.  We had a number of regular attenders out of town yesterday who have promised to be in tonight’s service.  Pray, invite others and attend.

I pray that you will have a great Monday with Jesus.
