Rachel Walton remains hospitalized until at least tomorrow.  Keep praying for Rachel as she recovers from this knee surgery.  Pray for Gary as he is working and going back and forth from the hospital.

Marie Brooks continues to recover from her procedure.  Pray that the pain from the procedure will subside and that the previous pain she was experiencing will also be gone.

Deidra arrived in Hartselle, AL safe and sound around midnight.  Thank you for praying.

Ladies’ Bible study takes place this morning beginning at 10:00AM at Edna Pearl’s house on Diffee Road.  All ladies are invited to attend.

This Saturday will bring an end to our Spring 2021 soccer leagues.  Pray for it to be a good day!

Revival services begin this Sunday, May 16, with services at 8:00AM; 10:30AM and 5:00PM.  (Please note the earlier starting time for the evening service)  No AWANA ministry or children’s choir.

Today marks the fifty first anniversary of my maternal grandfather’s passing from this life.  He was only fifty seven years old when he passed.  I was ten years old and remember that day like it was yesterday.

Tomorrow marks the first anniversary of my dad’s passing from this life.  I will be leaving at some point today in order to drive to Hartselle to be with my mama.  Deidra and I will then drive to Grand Bay at some point tomorrow.  Pray for my mama and family.  Pray for traveling mercies.

I pray that you will have a great Thursday with Jesus.

WEDNESDAY, 5/12/21

Nanette Fontenot sent me an update on her mother, Marie Brooks, last night.  Marie continues to have a lot of pain but the doctor thinks it is now related to the procedure and not the break.  He is now thinking the break may be older than originally thought.  So, keep praying!

Rachel Walton should be discharged from the hospital today.  Pray for a quick recovery.

Young Kentrell continues to be lovingly cared for by Coley & Katelyn Johnson.  Keep praying for Kentrell.

Deidra will be traveling today so pray for traveling mercies.  Thanks for my brother, Eddie, for getting her from the Birmingham airport tonight.

Regular schedule on our campus today – morning and evening.

Pray for revival.  Pray for Evangelist Danny Long!

I am looking for Dr. Rex Looney, Dr. Michael Mason and Dr. Joe David Bailey to step up to the plate and purchase the fifty pounds of coffee Deidra is bringing.  You guys could “by faith” buy it all and then sell it to others in days to come.  Come even charge twelve dollars a pound?  Just saying!

I pray that you will have a great Wednesday with Jesus.

TUESDAY, 5/11/21

Marie Brooks had her surgical procedure done this morning.  All went well in the actual surgery.  As is common with Marie, the anesthesia made her sick.  Time will tell if the surgery relieves the pain Marie has been experiencing.  Marie should come home today.

Rachel Walton had a complete knee replacement this morning.  All is good!  Hopefully, she will be discharged from the hospital tomorrow.

Coley & Katelyn’s child, Kentrel, spent last night in the hospital in order to have some tests.  The doctors now feel they know the source of his problems and may change some medication to help him.  He will be discharged this afternoon.

Pray for these ladies and this young boy.

Deidra is scheduled to fly into Birmingham tomorrow.  Her Uncle Eddie will get her from the airport and she will spend a couple of days in Hartselle before coming to Grand Bay.

If you live in the Hartselle area, Deidra will be bringing coffee.  Ten dollars per pound with four dollars going toward the building of houses for impoverished people.  Calling Dr. Rex, Dr. Mason, Dr. Jack, et cetera.

Regular schedule on our campus tomorrow morning and evening.

I pray that you will have a great rest of the afternoon with Jesus.

We were blessed with a good day in our services yesterday.  The morning service attendance was down some but that was due to the rainy weather.  Our evening service attendance was good.  Praise the Lord!

The Friendship family will be feeding the Cumbie family following the service tomorrow.  We do not have a number yet but we will need help.  If you can help, please contact Tina Wilkinson or call the church office today.

You can get the “coffee with a cause” from Lisa’s office or at church this Sunday.  Ten dollars per pound.

Our soccer leagues will be in action this Saturday as the weather forecast looks really good.  Two more Saturdays remain in this season.

ARRANGEMENTS FOR SCOTT CUMBIE

The visitation with the Scott Cumbie family will take place this Friday, 5/7, at the Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home from 12:30PM until the 2:00PM service time.  Scott will be buried in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

I am ninety nine percent certain that the Friendship family will be hosting and providing an after service meal for the Cumbie family.  We are going to need folks to help with the cooking of this meal.  Hopefully, I will have more specifics in tomorrow’s blog entry.

Pray for Scott’s family as they walk through this valley.

WEDNESDAY, 5/5/21

Matt Everett contacted me late yesterday afternoon to share the news that his paternal uncle has passed from this life.  Pray for Matt’s family as they walk through this valley.

Marie Brooks will have her surgical procedure done next Tuesday, 5/11.  She is so ready to get this behind her.

Regular schedule on our campus this morning and evening.

We still have plenty of room on our June 17 – 24 GRACE Ministries mission trip to Guatemala.  Airfares are very good at the moment.  Interested?  Contact me personally at pastor@friendshipfamily.net.

Revive us, Lord!  Services with Evangelist Danny Long are scheduled to take place Sunday, May 16, through Wednesday, May 18.  I am praying for the Friendship family to be faithful during these days.  Pray without ceasing!

“Coffee with a cause” is available again.  Ten dollars per pound with four dollars from each pound sold going to help finance the building of houses in Guatemala.   Great cause.  Great coffee.  It is a win/win situation.

I pray that you will have a great Wednesday with Jesus.

MONDAY, 5/3/21

The Friendship family enjoyed a really good day yesterday in our services.  Thanks be to God!  Bro. Johnny did an excellent job of sharing the Word through preaching.  The Spirit was present.  The Friendship family blessed Bro. Johnny’s ministry financially.  Thank you for praying, attending and giving!

Thank you to Katelyn Johnson for coordinating the meal for the senior adults yesterday.  Excellent job!  Thank you to each person who helped set up, serve, clean up, et cetera.

Matt Everett’s uncle was moved to palliative care yesterday.  I have not gotten an update this morning but do know continued prayers are needed.

No word on the arrangements for Scott Cumbie.  Pray for his family.

The Social Media Committee and the Buildings & Grounds Committee both met yesterday afternoon and are making progress in their respective areas.  I appreciate these men and women and the service they are providing.

Evangelist Danny Long will be with us the dates of May 16 – 19.  Pray, invite others, attend!  Lord, send a revival.

I pray that you will have a great Monday with Jesus.

THURSDAY, 4/29/21

Word came to me during the night that Scott Cumbie was involved in an accident and is in “extremely critical condition” in a local hospital.  I have spoken to Craig Cumbie and assured him of our prayer support.  (For those who do not know the connection, this is Caroline Ford’s son)

The visitation with the George Bosarge family takes place tonight from 5:00 – 8:00PM at the Independent Church of God in Bayou La Batre.  The service will take place tomorrow beginning at 11:00AM also from the ICOG.  Pray for the Bosarge family.

Thank you to Tina Wilkinson for coordinating the Friendship family’s part of feeding the Bosarge family.  Thank you to each person who is helping with this ministry.  Pray for Kendall & Leah Falana too.

We had a pretty good attendance in our services yesterday.  Thank you to those who are faithful!

If you are a senior adult and have not signed up for the meal this Sunday then please call the church office today.  We want all of our senior adults in attendance.

I will be driving to Prattville, AL and back today.  Why?  The blue truck in Guatemala needs a part that I was supposed to take down last week but it arrived a day late.  A young lady from Pastor Doug’s church is going to Guatemala this Sunday and has agreed to take the part for us.  The truck is out of service until this part can be put on.  So, I will meet Pastor BJ Parson today and he will get the part to Rebekah.  Want to take a guess as to who will have to pick up the bill for lunch?

Evangelist Johnny Tucker will be our guest this Sunday in all three services.

I pray that you will have a great Thursday with Jesus.
