TUESDAY, 2/20/24

Terry Lucky’s surgery was delayed yesterday but was, per the doctor, very successful.  Praise the Lord!  Blow Joe & Cecil Guidry took Terry to the hospital and stayed with him until he was put in a room around 6:30PM.  Very, very nice of the Guidrys!  By the way, Carol had dialysis yesterday which is why she could not be with her husband.

Grady Walker was moved from ICU to a regular room yesterday.  He is disoriented and a bit combative.  It appears he will be moved to a rehabilitation center upon his release from the hospital.

Paul Davila confirmed yesterday that his surgery will take place tomorrow, 2/21.  Time TBA.  Pray for Paul as he goes through this surgery.

Shawn Grant’s surgery is set for tomorrow as well.  Her surgery will last five to six hours.  Pray that all goes well.

Sonny Bates is scheduled to have surgery on Thursday hopefully early.  Keep praying for Sonny!

Bro. Johnny Tucker preached at the Mobile Baptist Association’s pastor’s conference yesterday and did a great job.  He does good for an old man!  Just saying!

Friendship family, still looking for at least three more men to serve on the Buildings and Grounds Committee.  Email me at tcturrentine@gmail.com if you are willing to serve.

Our soccer season is approaching rapidly.  League play begins on Saturday, March 9.  Pray for this ministry.

“March Gladness” will be our theme next month.  Psalm 122:1 is our verse for the month.

I pray that you will have a great Tuesday with Jesus.

FRIDAY, 2/16/24

Obviously, I did not post an entry yesterday.  However, I do want to report that the senior adult fellowship at The Catalina restaurant following our morning service on Wednesday was great.  Thank you to the ladies who coordinated it and to all who attended.

Jason H continues with his daily radiation treatments.  He is doing well.  Thanks to those who are providing transportation.  I threw the proverbial hook in the water last week asking someone to house Jason on Friday, 3/22, and Saturday, 3/23.  I thought I would get a bite quickly but so far there has only been one nibble which caused the cork to bobble just a bit.  Just saying!

Ellie Westbrook does not need surgery to repair her broken collarbone.

Regular schedule on our campus this Sunday morning and evening.

“March Gladness” begins on March 3.

Joey & Amy Switzer’s pizza place, MoJo’s, is now having a soft openings in the afternoons.  Their number is 251 259 2902.  They are taking orders via text.  There is a limit on the number of orders they can take per day.  Their hours are 5:00PM until 8:00PM. Friendship family, support these fellow members of the Friendship family.  (Tell Joey I sent you and he will uncharge you five dollars!)

I pray that you will have a great Friday, Saturday and Sunday with Jesus.

WEDNESDAY, 2/14/24

Happy sixty-fifth birthday to my older brother, Eddie.  I hope that he will have an awesome day!  (For the record, if my memory serves me correctly, Eddie is ten years older than me or something like that!). Happy birthday, Eddie!

Ellie Westbrook broke her collarbone yesterday.  The doctor is in hopes it will heal itself without surgery.

Regular schedule on our campus this morning and evening.

Lisa arrived on GRACE Mountain safe and sound around 12:30AM today.  I am thankful she can be there with Deidra and the girls.

I had a weak moment last night.  I attended the soccer meeting in the CAB.  I need medicine!

I pray that you will have a great Wednesday with Jesus.

MONDAY, 2/12/24

The Lord blessed us with two good services yesterday.  Our attendance was down some but that is certainly the norm when school is out for the following week.  The spirit was excellent.  It was a blessing to ordain Paul Davila and John Whalen as deacons.  I am thankful to the men who made up the ordination council.  It was a good day!

I want to say thank you to Brandon Baker, Joey Bosarge and Bill Kendrick for their service as deacons the past three years.  Great guys!

Paul Davila is scheduled for surgery this Wednesday, 2/14, but that could change.  Waiting on final confirmation.  Pray for Paul.

Marie Brooks is still in pain and waiting on her surgical procedure to be rescheduled.  Keep praying for Marie.

Shawn Grant is scheduled to have surgery on February 21.  Pray for her.

I shared about Robert Baria’s cancer free report.  Learned yesterday that Larry Crawley and Jay Oakwood have also received a cancer free report – praise the Lord!

Regular schedule on our campus this Wednesday, 2/14.

I pray that you will have a great Monday with Jesus.

SATURDAY, 2/10/24

How about some great news to begin this Saturday?  Roseanne Baria sent me an email yesterday sharing that Robert’s test results came back yesterday – CANCER FREE!  Praise the Lord!  Robert & Roseanne are giving God the glory!

Jason did not have his radiation treatment yesterday as there was some mechanical problem with the machine.  How much did David French pay to have that “problem” arise on his day to take Jason?  LOL!  Keep praying for Jason.  I am very thankful to Carl Ray & Charlotte and Scott & Nanette for their help with Jason too.  Of course, Daphne is making sure everything stays on track.

I arrived home safe and sound around 12:30AM.  Many thanks to Eddie Albritton for bringing me home from the Mobile airport even though the flight was almost an hour late.  Eddie is a great friend and always willing to help out.  (Yes, he charged me extra for the late arrival but at least Lisa was able to go to bed and not be out so late.  Was it worth an extra fifty dollars?  I guess.)

Tomorrow is my Mama’s eighty-fifth birthday.  Brad & Daphne are taking Lisa and me to Gardendale, AL this afternoon to meet Mama, my siblings and their spouses and some of the grandchildren for a meal.  I thank God for my Mama and hope she will have a great weekend.  (By the way, Eddie will stick me with the bill – again!  Just saying!)  Happy birthday, Mama!

Looking forward to our services tomorrow.  Lord willing, I will be in the pulpit for both services.  Deacon ordination council begins at 3:30PM.  We will be ordaining Paul Davila and John Whalen.  Deacons, if possible, coat and tie, please.

I pray that you will have a great Saturday with Jesus.

THURSDAY, 2/8/24

Happy eleventh birthday to our granddaughter, Sydney.  Sydney loves living in Guatemala and will have a great time celebrating today with her friends.  She is an easy going girl and, other than food, it does not take much to keep her happy.  We love Sydney!  Happy birthday, Sydney!

No updates on the folks mentioned in yesterday’s blog.  Keep praying for those facing upcoming surgeries.  Jason continues with his daily treatments.

Fourteen of the team in Guatemala left GRACE Mountain at 2:15AM today.  Fourteen more will leave at 7:00AM.  Pray for traveling mercies.

I pray that you will have a great Thursday with Jesus.
