FRIDAY, 10/4/19

“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” (Psalm 119:11)

Visited with Wanda Jordan yesterday and she remains basically unchanged.  Please keep praying for her.

Made an in home visit with someone from the Friendship family who is dealing with some tough news on the medical front.  Just pray.

The Arriola/Gregory wedding takes place tomorrow afternoon at 4:00PM in Mississippi.  The Friendship family is invited to attend.

Regular schedule on our campus Sunday morning and evening.  Deacons meet at 4:00PM.

Bobby and the boys took it on the chin last night.  They will send Strasburg to the hill tonight and that dude is tough!  The Braves lost a tough one last night.  I suspect they will rebound in game two.

Coach Collier and his Bobcats thumped the boys from Murphy last night.  Mobile Christian and Resurrection each host home games tonight while UMS, Faith Academy & Bryant all hit the road.

The weather forecasters are saying we have sixty percent chance of some rain on Monday.  The ten day forecast shows highs in the nineties today and tomorrow but then in the eighties for the following eight days.  Lows are forecast to be in the sixties.  Have I ever mentioned that I like cooler temperatures?  I do!

The folks in charge have given one more weekend of red snapper fishing and that begins today.  Edd Gillespie has graciously invited me to join him and four others for an excursion today.  That is the good news.  The not so good news is that one of those four others is Bob Evans!  Pray for me!

I pray that you will have a great Friday with Jesus.

GENA DAVIS ENTERS HEAVEN

Word came to me early this morning that Gena Davis passed from the life yesterday.  Gene called me a few minutes ago to share some details.  There will be a memorial service at a later date on our campus.  Details TBA.

Pray for Gene and the family as they walk through this valley.

THURSDAY, 10/3/19

“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” (Psalm 119:11)

Happy birthday to our daughters, Dana & Gina!  I hope they have an awesome day!

Adriana Arriola and James Gregory will become one in marriage this Saturday, October 5, at 4:00PM.  The Friendship family is invited to attend. It will take place in Moss Point, MS.  It will be an outside wedding.

Wanda Jordan remains in the hospital and is in critical condition.  Please keep praying.

Sonny Bates will receive another radiation treatment today.

Keep praying for the person who visited me and is in need of a miracle.

I have a second cousin who lives in California.  She is with child and it is a high risk pregnancy.  Her due date is early November.  Prayers appreciated.

My Uncle Herschel (was married to my dad’s only sister) is on hospice.  He is ninety four years old and is sharp as a tack mentally.  He has asked me to preach his funeral.  He and my Aunt are the reasons I am a Bama fan so you know he is a good man!  Pray for him.

My dad has another UTI.  Prayers needed.

Unlike Kevin Sprinkle and Debbie Hyatt, I will be pulling for Bobby and the boys throughout this entire postseason regardless of their opponent.  Just saying!

South hosts Georgia Southern tonight.  I will be a happy camper when they get an on campus stadium.  The Jags need a win.

True story – my cousin, Tony, from Michigan writes me yesterday and then closes by writing, “I have a conference call with Teddy Bradshaw to get ready for. That guy is something else!”  Hilarious!

I pray that you will have a great Thursday with Jesus.

WEDNESDAY, 10/2/19

“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” (Psalm 119:11)

This is basically “a dog ate my homework” story.  Wrote an entry around midnight last night and clicked publish.  Somehow, some way it disappeared.  Is that odd or what?  Sabotaged!  I am thinking Democrats?  Or Republicans?  Or LSU Tigers?  So, this one will be much shorter and hopefully sweet.

Wanda Jordan remains in the hospital.  I did not see her yesterday but will to so today, Lord willing.  Pray for Wanda.

The COLS for Lillian Brinkman went well and I am very thankful to each person who had a part in that service.  The Friendship family hit it out of the park when it came to ministering to the family – what a ton of food!  Raymond & Tina stopped by the office late yesterday afternoon and Tina said she had never seen that much food for a family.  Thank you to each person who brought food, served the family, helped set up, helped clean up, et cetera.  Pray for the Brinkman family!

Regular schedule on our campus this morning and tonight.

Nationals win!  Nationals win!  Nationals win!  What a great comeback win for Bobby and the boys last night.  Now they are off to play the Dodgers in LA.  I am a lifelong Dodgers fan.  My brother, Eddie, treated me to a couple of games in Dodger stadium a number of years ago.  That was awesome!  When it comes to the MLB I bleed Dodger blue!  However, unlike Debbie Hyatt, I am going with Bobby and the boys even against the Dodgers.  Bobby is a brother in Christ, a part of the Friendship family, and a friend.  Debbie needs revival!  Just saying!  LOL!

I pray that you will have a great Wednesday with Jesus.

P.S. – If I could only meet Teddy Bradshaw then. . . .

P.S.S. – If someone wants to spring for a trip for me to attend a couple of the playoff games in LA. . .

Wanda Jordan seems to be slightly improved.  She remains in ICU and is still critical but is heading in the right direction.  Keep praying for Wanda.

How about some really good news?  Infant Nash Lynch was discharged from the hospital yesterday!  Praise the Lord!  Keep praying for Nash and his parents.

Sonny Bates had the fourth of his radiation treatments yesterday.  Pray for all to go well.

Spoke to the person in need of a miracle yesterday.  Pray!

Bobby and the boys host the Brewers tonight in the NL Wild Card game.  Let’s go Nationals.

I pray that you will have a great Tuesday with Jesus.

MONDAY, 9/30/19

“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” (Psalm 119:11)

Good day in our services yesterday topped by the addition of Lacey Ladnier to the Friendship family in last night’s service.

The visitation with the Lillian Brinkman family will take place from 5:00 – 9:00PM tonight in our auditorium.  The celebration of life service takes place tomorrow at 11:00AM.  Please note that there will be no visitation tomorrow morning only the service.  Memorial donations should go to the Mission of Hope.  Pray for the Brinkman family.

Wanda Jordan made some improvement throughout the day yesterday.  She is still critical but there have been some positive signs.  Keep praying!

Infant Nash Lynch has been seizure free since Friday afternoon – praise the Lord!  Pray that he will continue to do well.

Sonny Bates will receive his fourth radiation treatment today.  Pray for all to continue to go well.

Join me in praying for the person who stopped by my house last Thursday asking for prayer.  Miracle needed.

Bobby and the boys are readying to host the NL Wild Card game against the Brewers tomorrow night.  Let’s go Nationals!

I do not watch the NFL.  Did the Saints beat the Cowboys last night?  Just curious!

I pray that you will have a great Monday with Jesus.

Regular schedule on our campus this morning and evening.

The arrangements for Miss Lillian were posted in a separate post last night.  Please note that the family requests gifts given in memory of Miss Lillian be given to the Mission of Hope.

Wanda Jordan is in critical condition in the hospital.  She needs our prayer support in a big way.

Keep praying for infant Nash Lynch.

The Nationals have won seven in a row and are in a good place as they will host the NL Wild Card game on Tuesday night, 10/1, and will have Max on the mound.  Way to go Bobby and the boys!

SATURDAY, 9/28/19

“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” (Psalm 119:11)

It is with a sad heart that I write this morning that Miss Lillian Brinkman passed from this earthly life around 2:00AM this morning.  It is with a happy heart that I write this morning that Miss Lillian is now at home with Jesus.  She will be deeply missed by her family, church family, friends and countless others.  Pray for the family.  They are in hopes of a Monday night visitation and a Tuesday celebration of life service.  Arrangements will be made today.  Everything will take place at Friendship.  It may be tomorrow before I am able to post the arrangements once they have been completed.

Peggy Knighten sent me a message yesterday afternoon to say that infant Nash suffered two more seizures.  Please pray for Nash, his parents/family and the doctors.

I do not have an update on Wanda Jordan but do know we need to keep praying.

I have spent a great deal of time praying for the person who stopped by the house on Thursday afternoon.  Folks, a miracle is needed so please pray fervently.

I have a nice visit with my parents yesterday afternoon and followed that up with a nice visit with my Uncle Herschel.  Uncle Herschel is an amazing man.

Faith Academy, UMS, & Resurrection won their respective games last night.  Bryant & Mobile Christian came up a little short in their respective games.

Bobby and the boys need to win one or have the Brewers lose one in order for the Nationals to host the NL Wild Card game on Tuesday night.  The Indians got eliminated from the AL Wild Card race last night as they lost to the Nationals.

Regular schedule on our campus tomorrow morning and evening.

I pray that you will have a great Saturday with Jesus.

FRIDAY, 9/27/19

“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” (Psalm 119:11)

I will “sometimes” post things in these entries that “may not” be totally true if you did not know that already.  However, this is something that is of utmost importance and very serious as I call each of you to prayer.  I was mowing late yesterday afternoon when someone pulled up and began walking toward me.  That person had a very, very serious prayer request and came to ask me to pray with them.  Their words were, “Bro. Teddy, I need a miracle!”  They asked that their identity and request be kept confidential for right now but did ask me to call folks to prayer as God knows the need.  Basically, the medical folks have given them a very short period to time to live and if you knew the situation you would say “there is no way that can be true.”  We prayed together.  It broke my heart and I spent the next couple of hours praying as I mowed.  Would you stop right now and just pray for a miracle?  Please.

The surgery on Bro. Jerry & Tena’s granddaughter went well.  Praise the Lord!

If everything went as planned, Ella Bosarge was discharged from the hospital yesterday.  When I visited she was eager to get out of that place.  Very grateful for the Lord’s touch on her body.  Keep praying for a complete recovery.

Infant Nash Lynch was much improved as of yesterday morning.  When I stopped by around 10:00AM or so, he had not had a seizure since 3:30PM the day before which was obviously great.  Keep praying for Nash, his parents and family and the medical folks charged with his care.

My visit with Wanda Jordan was very brief as she was a very sick lady.  Wanda needs our fervent prayers.

Stopped by to see Lillian Brinkman yesterday afternoon and she was not having a good day.  Miss Lillian is such a sweetheart but she simply did not feel good at all yesterday.  Pray for Miss Lillian!

Sonny Bates has begun his series of radiation treatments.  Pray for Sonny and pray these treatments have the desired effect.

Wednesday night following our service a mother came to me to tell of her child’s being recognized at the Salvation Army of Coastal Alabama’s annual luncheon earlier that day.  Great honor.  One of twelve high school students in the entire area to receive this reward.  She then proceeded to tell me that her child met “Teddy Bradshaw.”  I said “great” even though I had no clue who this Teddy Bradshaw person was.  Well, I read the story on al.com yesterday morning about Terry Bradshaw being in Mobile to speak at said luncheon.  I have copied and pasted a small part of that article:

“At the luncheon, the Salvation Army presented this year’s Henry and Jill Toomer Doing the Most Good Award to 12 high school students.

The winners included Connor Howard of Blount, Aaron Gilliland of Alma Bryant, Baryle Davenport of Chickasaw, Matthew Nicholas of Cottage Hill Christian, Zane Hall of Faith, Riddic Barnes of McGill-Toolen, Mackenzie Busby of Mobile Christian, Brayden Moore of Spanish Fort, Grant Murray of St. Michael, Landon Rawlins of St. Paul’s, Jack McAnnally of UMS-Wright and Jamarcus Grayson of Williamson.”

I am not going to throw this mother under the proverbial bus for saying “Teddy Bradshaw” but I do congratulate her child on receiving this reward.

Bryant, Faith Academy, and UMS (Mobile Chrisitian) all host games tonight.  Resurrection travels to Hattiesburg.  Theodore has the night off.  Best of luck to each of these teams.

Not a ton of drama left in the MLB’s final weekend of regular season play.  I think Pastor Jack Bailey’s Indians are toast but stranger things have happened.  Can the Brewers overtake the Cardinals or the Nationals?  That is the only real drama this weekend.  I hope Bobby and the boys win out!

Lisa is in Birmingham.  I got my assigned chores done yesterday afternoon and last night (only slept one hour as the list was pretty exhaustive) so I get to drive up today to meet her and then attend the Bama game tomorrow afternoon.  Here is the deal – when we return home tomorrow night she is going to complain that I did not properly make the bed.  However, what she will not know is that I did not sleep in the bed last night so it will actually be her criticizing her own work – I cannot wait!  (Some of you may want to read my very first sentence in this post again – just saying!)

Lord willing, I will visit my parents and an Uncle this afternoon.  My uncle is on hospice.  He and my aunt are the reason I am an Alabama football fan so you know he has to be a great guy.

This entry has been way too long.  I pray that you will have a great Friday with Jesus.
