WEDNESDAY, 1/5/11

The first Wednesday of 2011 we see us resume a regular schedule with our 10:00AM service and then the various Bible studies, classes at 6:00 & 7:00PM, and our young adult Bible study at 8:00PM.  I hope the members of the Friendship family will be faithful to join us for these services/Bible studies.

The members of our missions committee are asked to meet with me tonight at 6:15PM.

You can sum up Arkansas’ woes in two words – Jack Ciak!  I purposely did not mention his name in yesterday’s entry knowing his effect on teams (see UConn sports of late for an example).  The Hogs simply blew it last night!  They let the SEC down big time!  I will not be eating bacon for breakfast this morning!

Pray for Pastor Jack Bailey today as this will be a tough day for him since Rep John Boehner will presumably be elected as Speaker of the House replacing Nancy Pelosi.

I pray that you will have a great Wednesday with Jesus.

2010 LOTTIE MOON REPORT

Praise the Lord!  He blessed and the members of the Friendship family gave sacrificially to help us exceed our $40,000 goal for the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for international missions.  Our final total for the 2010 offering was $41,510.10!  Glory to God!

As I have stated earlier, this total is by far the largest that the Friendship family has ever given to the LMCO.  Thank you for giving to help us “make disciples” around the world!  Yes, it is a God thing and we quickly give Him all of the praise and glory!

TUESDAY, 1/4/11

The visitation with the King family will take place beginning at 10:00AM today and go until the noon service time.  Pray for Bro. Robbie as he preaches that service.  Thanks to Miss Vinnie for coordinating the preparation of the meal for the family and thanks to each person who is providing the food.

Miss Edna provided me with the needed information to tally our Lottie Moon Christmas Offering but I forgot to add the figures.  Will do so this morning!

I would like to meet with the members of our Missions Committee tomorrow night at 6:15PM.  Also, I would like to meet with the members of our Finance Committee this Sunday, 1/9, at 4:30PM.

I forgot to mention in yesterday’s entry that Bro. Jerry Hovel is on vacation this week and Bro. Kerry will be on vacation this Thursday.  So, please respect their time away.  I am available 24/7.

Our Upward season begins this Saturday.  We need game officials.  Contact me if you can help for a game or more.

The college bowl season is almost over and I have watched very, very little of the games played thus far.  Of course, the exception is that I did watch the Bama game.  I watched maybe fifteen minutes of last night’s game but do hope to watch the Sugar Bowl tonight.  Can the “Little Eleven” (that is for Ross Genzink) beat a SEC team?  Go Hogs!  (That is for Louise Mason & Bret Hart!)

I saw a minor miracle yesterday as Joe David Bailey posted a blog entry.  I think that was his first since August of 1987!  Way to go JD!

I pray that you will have a great Tuesday with Jesus.

MONDAY, 1/3/11

This first entry of 2011 is late.  Honestly, I have taken eight days off from blogging and have not gotten back into the habit yet.  Tomorrow should be much better.

We had a good day in our services yesterday.  We still had a good number of folks out of town but the attendance was good.  I appreciate those who responded to the invitation.

Once again, I was impressed with Mark Harris and the job he did in leading us in worship last night.  Thanks to all who attended that service too.

Sandy Felps’ mother, Miss Ernestine King, passed away on 12/31.  The visitation with the family will take place tomorrow, 1/4, from 10:00AM until the noon service time at Serenity Funeral Home.  Miss Vinnie Brewer is coordinating the feeding of the family so please call her or the church office if you can help.  Pray for the King family.

As we begin 2011, we are blessed that none of our Friendship family members are hospitalized.  However, we do have some battling cancer and other afflictions so please pray for them.

Lisa, Dana, Gina, and I had a good time in Danville, Michigan, and Decatur last week.  It is always good to spend time with family and friends.  We met with a good number of our GRACE Ministries friends while in Michigan.

I should be able to give a final total for our 2010 Lottie Moon Christmas Offering in tomorrow’s entry.  We did exceed our goal which is a God thing and we give Him all of the glory!

I pray that you will have a great first Monday of 2011 with Jesus!
