WEDNESDAY, 3/20/13

This entry is way late and for that I apologize.  I will spare you the details.

The funeral service for Billy Ladnier takes place today at noon from the chapel of Holder Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point, MS.  Pray for the Ladnier family.

As far as I know, the arrangements have not been completed for Norman Richerson’s brother.

Kerri Lastorka sent an update this morning saying that her brother, Kevin Woods, is being moved to Rotary Rehab.  That is a good thing!  Keep praying!

We are on a regular schedule for tonight.

I pray that you will have a great rest of today with Jesus.

TUESDAY, 3/19/13 (UPDATED)

Norman Richerson’s brother, Aubrey, passed away earlier this morning.  Pray for the Richerson family and the arrangements will be posted here once they are completed.

Sara Ladnier is having more tests done today as well.  Pray for her!

Ronnie Glass, brother to Miriam Moates and Wanda Jordan, has been admitted to the hospital again.  His chemotherapy treatment caused his heart rate to go way too high.  Pray for Ronnie.

TUESDAY, 3/19/13

Received a text from Sam Schjott last night saying that his maternal grandmother passed away.  This has been expected for several weeks.  She lived in the south Florida area.  Obviously, this is Katie Schjott’s grandmother-in-law as well.  Pray for the Schjott family as they go through this time.

Visited with Miss Edith Kelley yesterday afternoon.  She had a less than desirable weekend as she had some weak spells.  She was a bit downcast but determined to regain her strength and improve.

Attempted to visit with Miss Exie Woods but she was fast asleep.  I know that she has not been feeling well.  I did get to visit with Miss Ora Lloyd.

Kevin Woods is scheduled to stand today for the first time since his accident.

The visitation and funeral service for Billy Ladnier takes place in the morning from 10:00AM until the noon service time at Holder Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point.  The burial will take place in Biloxi.

Tiffany Fox is supposed to see the doctor again today regarding her surgery of last week.

I talked to a friend yesterday who is dealing with some difficulties and asked for prayer.  That is a vague request on my part but I do ask that you join me in praying for this individual.

I pray that you will have a great Tuesday with Jesus.

MONDAY, 3/18/13

We were blessed with a good day in our services yesterday.  What a beautiful job Pastor Mark did last night in sharing the Word through pictures, video, and preaching.  Thank you for supporting the ministry God has given him through your prayers, attendances and offering.  You were a blessing!

Kathy Ladnier attached a comment to this past Friday’s blog (I think) giving us an update on Sara.  Talked to the Lastorkas last night at church and they said Kevin Woods is improving daily.  He is scheduled to stand tomorrow for the first time since his accident.  Tiffany Fox had a outpatient surgical procedure done this past Friday and sees her doctor again tomorrow.  The arrangements for Billy Ladnier should be completed today.

Marisa says Carla is doing good.  Carolyn Blaylock continues to have problems with her heart.  Chastity Touchstone is receiving treatments.  Miss Edith remains at home and I plan to see her today.  Ronnie Glass was discharged from the hospital.

Mr Carlton Brouwer lives in Michigan and is a good friend of GRACE Ministries.  He is in the hospital with an infection and pneumonia.  He is 88 years of age (I think) and when I saw him week before last, he was pretty weak physically.  Mark & family travel home to Canada tomorrow.  Pray for all of these needs.

Cannot believe the Bama basketball team was left out of the tourney!  It appeared they had a chance to win it all and have now been deprived of that opportunity by the committee.  How can a team averaging almost 35 points a game be left out?  Just glad our football team plays their way into the NC game!  BTW, congrats on the Ole Miss team winning the SEC tourney.  (Threw that in to keep Bill K happy!)

Joe David Bailey will give me an expert prediction on the eventual winner of the DI tourney and I will pass that info along to you so you can fill out your brackets properly.

I pray that you will have a great Monday with Jesus.

SUNDAY, 3/17/13 (UPDATED)

This update is not because of a change in anyone’s physical condition or a person’s passing.  Just have some time to make a couple of observations.

First, Pastor/Missionary Mark Mast did a very nice job of sharing the Word in our two morning services this morning.  The Apostle Paul said he knew nothing except “Jesus Christ and Him crucified” when he wrote to the Corinthians.  Mark’s message on the cross was timely.

Second, I commend the men/women who took part in the work day yesterday morning.  We had an experienced group and everyone went about the jobs at hand without having to be instructed.  The “back 40” looks much better thanks to some guys who trimmed, cut, burned all morning.  The sign looks brand new as our electricians spent basically all day rewiring it – what a job they encountered and what a great job they did!  The new office suite received extensive work as we are getting closer to occupying it because of a lot of work yesterday.  The grounds received a thorough spraying of weed killer and insect spray.  The doors in the auditorium are now working properly after being repaired by a team of experienced carpenters.  The Hallelujah Festival games are stored safe and sound.  The screws on top of the CAB were painted and hopefully are sealed now to prevent leaks.  These are just the things that come to mind as I write this but I am sure other things were accomplished as well.  I say “thank you” to each person who helped and “glory to God” for all He did through you!

Third, the “food festival” seemingly went well.  I am hearing that the numbers were down some from the previous year but I do know the food was great as was the fellowship.  Heard a few complaints about the seafood so I will sample their food in advance next year.  Thanks to those who helped and to those who attended.

Fourth, construction on the the Jennie Blaukamp Ministry Center is moving along.  Check out the updates on www.aglimpseofgrace.com.

Thanks for taking the time to read these ramblings!

SATURDAY, 3/16/13

Work day this morning at 8:00AM with a finish time of no later than noon.  Bring tools and equipment for outside work.

Food festival tonight from 5:00 – 7:00PM in the CAB.  Cost if $10 per person with a $40 max per family.  All proceeds support our students going to camp in June.

The garden is in the ground – praise the Lord!  Charles was a big help and the list of helpers ends there!  You thought Mark Mast helped – are you serious?  Ever watch the episode of The Andy Griffith show where  handyman, Henry Wheeler, shows up and can “do” everything but never “does” anything?  Mark “had” to take his family to New Orleans even though he preached to me for hours the night before about how to properly plant a garden.  I tend to forget that he is a Yankee!

Soy?  Please!  He showed up at 10:00AM with a doughnut in one hand and a cup of coffee in the other hand.  We finished at 10:03AM!

Charles did help but he then charged me for the use of his tractor, time, and use of the operator!  Plus, he made me agree to weed eat the entire “front 40” yesterday afternoon.  Wow, this gardening is an expensive proposition for me!

Regular schedule for tomorrow.  Hope you see many of you there!

I pray that you will have a great Saturday with Jesus.

FRIDAY, 3/15/13

I appreciate each member of the Friendship family who attended the visitation and/or funeral service last night.  Friendship was well represented!  Keep praying for Bobby, Logan, and the family.

Visited with Stan Hatcher last night.  He was doing good even though he was in some pain.  His daughter, Bethany, was originally assigned to be his nurse but they changed that citing a potential “conflict of interest!”

Bad news – did not get to plant the garden yesterday!  Good news – Soy was out of town yesterday which led him to think that he would miss the garden party but now he can help me!  I told him to be in the garden at 6:00AM sharp!

Bought some weed killer to be used at the work day tomorrow.  If a couple of folks could bring sprayers it would be nice.  Power washers, lawn equipment, whatever will work.  Remember, we start at 8:00AM and finish by noon.

Mark, Tina, Rachel, & Ben Mast arrived yesterday afternoon and will be staying with us until Monday.  Great family!

I pray that you will have a great Friday with Jesus!

THURSDAY, 3/14/13 (UPDATED)

Stan Hatcher had surgery this morning and did well.  He will remain in the hospital until tomorrow.

Rob Nevin’s mother remains hospitalized but will be discharged to an assisted living facility on Saturday.

Catina Henley’s mother is in the hospital too.

Courtney Hubbard’s cancer has returned.  She and her husband, Mark, used to be members of the Friendship family.  They live in Ocean Springs, MS now.  Mark was the basketball coach at Alba and Bryant.

Pray for all of these folks.
