SUNDAY, 2/7/16

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.” (Psalm 19:14 KJV)

Today’s Bible reading:  Exodus 25 – 27

Normal schedule today and tonight.  Yes, the Super Bowl is being played tonight but that does not change our plans to have our evening service.  I am praying that our folks in town will be faithful.

Emphasis on the ministry of the Gideons in this morning’s services.  Jeff Holifield will lead those services.

Thank you to each person who attended the service for Bro. Louis Reyer as well as those who ministered by bringing food, serving the food, setting up, cleaning up, et cetera.  Thank you to Bro. Jerry for preaching the service in my absence.

I pray that you will have a great Sunday with Jesus.

SATURDAY, 2/6/15

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.” (Psalm 19:14 KJV)

Today’s Bible reading: Exodus 22 – 24

Today is a sad day for the Friendship family as those who gather in the church auditorium will say their final “good bye” to Bro. Louis Reyer.  The visitation will begin at 10:00AM and continue until the noon service time.  Pray for Miss Carmen, Carol, Monty and the entire family.  Remember, if you are helping feed the family following the service, your food needs to be in the fellowship hall not later than noon.

I do want to note that will indeed be a final “good bye” to Bro. Louis for those who are born again.  Why?  Because the next time they see Bro. Louis it will be in Heaven and there will be no “good byes” there!  Miss Carmen was a faithful wife to Bro. Louis for over seventy years.  Carol & Monty have been faithful children with Carol giving extra special attention to her parents by going to their house multiple times daily.

Kayla Hatcher’s surgery went well.  The doctor did more than planned but all is well.

Kyle & Sueanna Bryant welcomed their fourth son, Maxwell Morris Bryant, into the world yesterday.  He checked in weighing nine pounds and fourteen ounces and is twenty three and one half inches tall.  Congratulations to Kyle, Sue and the three older brothers!

Men’s breakfast this morning at 8:00AM in the fellowship hall.  All men are invited to attend.

Upward basketball final games today with the award ceremony tonight in the CAB.  Bryan Drake is the featured speaker.

Regular schedule tomorrow morning and evening.  Love offering for the ministry of the Gideons in the morning services.

I pray that you will have a great Saturday with Jesus.

Kayla Hatcher will have surgery today.

The visitation with the Louis Reyer family will take place tomorrow (Saturday), 2/6, beginning at 10:00AM and lasting until the 12:00PM service time.  Both the visitation and the celebration of life service will take place in our church auditorium.  Pray for the Reyer family.

If you are helping with ministry of feeding the Reyer family following the service tomorrow, please have the food in the fellowship hall no later than noon.  Contact Carol Lucky for more information.  Thank you in advance to each person helping with this ministry.

THURSDAY, 2/4/16

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.” (Psalm 19:14 KJV)

Today’s Bible reading:  Exodus 16 – 18

I am fairly certain that by now most/all of you are aware that Bro. Louis Reyer departed this life yesterday in exchange for an eternal life in Heaven.  He was certainly ready.  The arrangements will be made by the family today.  I do know that the celebration of life service will take place from the church auditorium.  Just not sure of the day at this point.  Pray for Miss Carmen, Carol, Monty and the entire family.  The Friendship family has lost a wonderful member.  As a matter of fact, Bro. Louis was our oldest church member.

I do not have any updates on the folks for whom we have been praying.  I do know that Kayla Hatcher will have surgery tomorrow.

Men’s breakfast this Saturday, 2/6, beginning at 8:00AM in the fellowship hall.  All men are invited to attend.

It was three years ago today that Pastor Robbie Howard passed from this life.  Wow, what a hole was left by his passing.  I will never forget the incredible role he played in my life.  I am very thankful!

I pray that you will have a great Thursday with Jesus.  “Let not your heart be troubled!”

WEDNESDAY, 2/3/16

Today’s Bible reading:  Exodus 13-15

I am told that Richard Glass is doing well following his surgery.  Doctors are still concerned about the infection but are treating it.

Bro. Louis Reyer’s situation remained basically unchanged as of yesterday afternoon.

Reg commented on yesterday’s entry that their daughter, Holly, will be having surgery this Thursday as they plan on removing all the cancerous spots.  She will then undergo radiation treatments.  Pray for the surgery to go as planned.

If my memory serves me well, Becky will have scans today.  I know she gets the results next Wednesday, 2/10.  Pray for Becky.

Lisa and I arrived safely and on time into Guatemala yesterday.  My cousin, Tony, did not fare so well as he missed the connection in Atlanta due to fog.  He got to the mission house around 10:00PM last night.  He had a long day of traveling.

Regular schedule today and tonight.  Be faithful!

I pray that you will have a great Wednesday with Jesus.

TUESDAY, 2/2/16

Today’s Bible reading:  Exodus 10-12

Richard Glass had surgery yesterday but I do not have an update.  I went and visited/prayed with him before surgery and then Bro. Kerry sat with the family during the actual surgery.  I did not get an update from anyone after I left the hospital.

Drove to Pensacola, FL and had a delightful visit with Miss Helen Ruth Brinkman and her son, Johnny.  She is not jumping fences but was doing well.  The plan was for her to move to a rehab facility yesterday afternoon for around a two week stay.

Attended the funeral service for Coley Johnson’s Uncle yesterday afternoon.  That is a really large family numerically so the chapel was teeming with people.

Visited the folks in the convalescent home.  Mr & Mrs. Louis Reyer are sharing a room.  Bro. Louis was not doing well at all.  They have placed him on hospice care and the family was waiting on the hospice nurse to make his/her first visit.  Pray for Bro. Louis & Miss Carmen along with their children, Carol & Monty.

Miss Jackie Goff was discharged from the hospital.  I know she is a happy camper!

We celebrated Henni’s 24th birthday last night.  Her birthday is this Thursday, 2/4, but since Lisa and I will not be in town we celebrated it early.  Each time our family begins to gather at our house, Rusty just walks up too.  Somebody needs to tell him that he is a renter not a relative!

Kevin & Rita Vice are grandparents as of last Thursday.  If you saw Kevin this past Sunday then you saw his brag book!  I think the baby weighed eight pounds and three ounces but that may not be correct.  I think his name is Judah but that may not be correct either.  I do know that he is here and both mother and son are doing well.

This entry is being typed while Lisa and I are sitting in the Mobile airport waiting to board a plane for Atlanta.  We will be joined there by one of my first cousins, Tony Gettig, and then we will head to Guatemala.  Pray for our safety in travel, please.

Prayer time tonight in the auditorium from 5:00 – 6:00PM.  Bernard Suthoff will oversee this ministry tonight.

Regular schedule tomorrow morning and evening.  Bro. Jerry will be preaching in my absence.

I pray that you will have a great Tuesday with Jesus!

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.” (Psalm 19:14 KJV)

Kayla Hatcher is scheduled to have surgery this Friday, 2/5.

Jimmy Tagert’s step father is also scheduled to have surgery this Friday, 2/5.

Becky Sellers will have some tests done this week and then get the results next week.  We are praying “big” for Becky!

Jackie Goff remains hospitalized as does Helen Ruth Brinkman.  My plans are to visit both of them today.

TNBA returns on Tuesday, 2/16, at 7:00PM!  Same stipulations as before i.e. you have to attend church in order to be in this extremely competitive league.

GriefShare tonight at 6:00PM.

GROW tonight at 6:30PM.

Prayer time in the auditorium tomorrow night from 5:00 – 6:00PM.

Our Sunday School class did a great job of hosting the “old” folks yesterday.  Our girls cooked an amazing meal.  That Claire Bell can cook some waffles!  A couple of the “old” folks dropped their dentures and a couple had squealing hearing aids but all in all it was a good day!  Really good fellowship.

Soccer is coming to the Friendship family!  Need details?  Contact Soy Taylor, Rusty Suthoff or Phillip Turner.

Lord willing, Lisa and I will leave early tomorrow heading to Guatemala.  We will be joining the GRACE team presently there and then leading a team that is scheduled to arrive this Thursday.  This will be a construction/medical team.  Pray for us.

I pray that you will have a great Monday with Jesus.
