MONDAY, 2/12/24

The Lord blessed us with two good services yesterday.  Our attendance was down some but that is certainly the norm when school is out for the following week.  The spirit was excellent.  It was a blessing to ordain Paul Davila and John Whalen as deacons.  I am thankful to the men who made up the ordination council.  It was a good day!

I want to say thank you to Brandon Baker, Joey Bosarge and Bill Kendrick for their service as deacons the past three years.  Great guys!

Paul Davila is scheduled for surgery this Wednesday, 2/14, but that could change.  Waiting on final confirmation.  Pray for Paul.

Marie Brooks is still in pain and waiting on her surgical procedure to be rescheduled.  Keep praying for Marie.

Shawn Grant is scheduled to have surgery on February 21.  Pray for her.

I shared about Robert Baria’s cancer free report.  Learned yesterday that Larry Crawley and Jay Oakwood have also received a cancer free report – praise the Lord!

Regular schedule on our campus this Wednesday, 2/14.

I pray that you will have a great Monday with Jesus.

SATURDAY, 2/10/24

How about some great news to begin this Saturday?  Roseanne Baria sent me an email yesterday sharing that Robert’s test results came back yesterday – CANCER FREE!  Praise the Lord!  Robert & Roseanne are giving God the glory!

Jason did not have his radiation treatment yesterday as there was some mechanical problem with the machine.  How much did David French pay to have that “problem” arise on his day to take Jason?  LOL!  Keep praying for Jason.  I am very thankful to Carl Ray & Charlotte and Scott & Nanette for their help with Jason too.  Of course, Daphne is making sure everything stays on track.

I arrived home safe and sound around 12:30AM.  Many thanks to Eddie Albritton for bringing me home from the Mobile airport even though the flight was almost an hour late.  Eddie is a great friend and always willing to help out.  (Yes, he charged me extra for the late arrival but at least Lisa was able to go to bed and not be out so late.  Was it worth an extra fifty dollars?  I guess.)

Tomorrow is my Mama’s eighty-fifth birthday.  Brad & Daphne are taking Lisa and me to Gardendale, AL this afternoon to meet Mama, my siblings and their spouses and some of the grandchildren for a meal.  I thank God for my Mama and hope she will have a great weekend.  (By the way, Eddie will stick me with the bill – again!  Just saying!)  Happy birthday, Mama!

Looking forward to our services tomorrow.  Lord willing, I will be in the pulpit for both services.  Deacon ordination council begins at 3:30PM.  We will be ordaining Paul Davila and John Whalen.  Deacons, if possible, coat and tie, please.

I pray that you will have a great Saturday with Jesus.

Fourteen of the team in Guatemala left GRACE Mountain at 2:15AM today.  Fourteen more will leave at 7:00AM.  Pray for traveling mercies.

THURSDAY, 2/1/24

The visitation and service for Ann Clark’s sister-in-law, Gaye Broome, takes place today in Richton, MS.  Pray for V.R. and the family.

Jason Husband had his first radiation treatment late yesterday afternoon.  His major concern while there was if they were going to have him out in time for him to get to church.  He was pushing for them to get him in and get him out.  Daphne got him to church at 6:55PM and he was a happy camper.  If only each of us had that same desire!  What about the radiation?  Oh yeah, that too.  He did fine!  Goes again late this afternoon.  Pray for Jason.

Marie Brooks is scheduled to have surgery on Friday, 2/9.  Pray for her pain to be managed until that time.

Ronnie Calvert is scheduled to fly back to Ecuador on Tuesday, 2/6.  Praise the Lord!

Miss Edna is in the church office today from 8:00AM until noon.  Just FYI.

Basketball leagues tomorrow night and Saturday.  Closing ceremony on Sunday, 2/4, beginning at 5:00PM in the CAB.

Regular morning on our campus this Sunday, 2/4.

Bro. Johnny & Miss Judy flew home yesterday.  I am thankful for their time ministering in Guatemala.

Lisa flies home today.  Pray for traveling mercies, please.

The team that is in Guatemala flies home today while the team that will minister for the next week arrives today/tonight.  Again, pray for traveling mercies.

The “baker’s dozen” challenge was issued on 1/13 with a deadline of 1/31.  God blessed.  Folks responded.  I am thrilled to write that not only do all of the teaching positions now sponsored but so is every worker on GRACE Mountain.  All done before midnight on 1/31.  Mission accomplished!  To God be the glory!  Thank you to each person/group that has given and to those who will be honoring their pledges over the rest of the year.  God is good!

I pray that you will have a great Thursday with Jesus.
