WEDNESDAY, 2/21

The Lord has blessed and we have had a good day of worship, Bible studies, and prayer.  It began with our Wednesday morning service at 10:00AM and then continued with our high school Bible study at 6:00PM followed by prayer meeting, junior high Bible study, and mission organizations at 7:00PM.  It all just ended (actually the fellowship is still taking place as we approach 10:00PM) with our college/young professionals Bible study which began at 8:00PM.

Jerry Whitmore was in our prayer service tonight, Ken Ford has been moved to another medical facility, Vivian Rhoads remains hospitalized, and Betty McDonald is in the hospital related to her heart.

You are invited to join us this Saturday, 2/24, from 4:00PM – 7:00PM for the annual Taste of Friendship.  This is sponsored by our student ministry and helps with their summer mission/ministry opportunities.

Our Saturday will begin at 8:00AM with a work day in the church buildings and the church grounds.  Plans call for us to conclude at noon and hopefully we will have a good number of folks join us for this effort.

TUESDAY, 2/20

We were saddened to confirm late yesterday afternoon that a member of the Friendship family, Steve Miller, passed away very unexpectedly on Sunday morning while undergoing a surgical procedure in one of the local hospitals.  Steve was 51 years old and leaves behind his wife, Kim, two children and one grandson.  Pray for the Miller family as they will have a visitation Thursday night, 2/22, and funeral at noon on Friday, 2/23, all from Serenity Funeral Home.  Steve, Kim, & Stephanie joined the Friendship family in April of 2003.

A fax was received in our office yesterday that told us of the death of another member of the Friendship family, Chet Russell.  Chet moved to Florida about seventeen years ago due to health complications.  His funeral service will take place Saturday in Florala.  I would imagine Chet was in his 70’s but am not certain about his age.  Pray for his family.

We also learned yesterday that Vivian Rhoads is in local hospital.  Miss Vivian has been a member of the Friendship family for many years and has lived in Mobile for the past several years.

Please note that we are having a regular schedule tomorrow.  Also, please make plans to join us for the Taste of Friendship this Saturday, 2/24, from 4:00PM until 7:00PM.

MONDAY, 2/19

The Lord blessed us with a good day yesterday.  Our 8:00AM service saw Deidra Ramires make a public profession of faith and Aaron Odom pray to receive Jesus as his personal Savior.  We then saw Deidra follow the Lord in believer’s baptism as a part of our evening worship service.  We thank God for the increase and give Him the glory!

The Faith girls and the Cottage Hill boys both lost in the state finals but had great seasons nonetheless.  We congratulate them on their seasons!

Jerry Whitmore came home from the hosptial and is looking at a six weeks recovery period, Sueanna and the baby should be discharged today, and Ken Ford’s status remains unchanged.  Cora Martin, Clara Broadus’ mother, is having shoulder surgery today in Dothan so please pray for her.

There will be no FAITH or Teen Touch tonight due to the public schools being closed.  This Wednesday, 2/21, will see us follow a regular schedule.

Our annual Taste of Friendship takes place this Saturday, 2/24, from 4:00PM – 7:00PM and we hope you will join us for this time of great food and greater fellowship.

SATURDAY, 2/17

Good morning.  Jamison Bryant entered this world yesterday morning just before 9:00AM weighing 8 lbs 13 oz and measuring 21″ long.  Kyle, Sueanna, & Jamison are all doing fine!

Jerry Whitmore did suffer a stroke that has adversely affected the right and left sides of his body.  He may be released from the hospital this weekend.

Ken Ford’s condition remains basically unchanged.  Please continue to pray for him.

Juluis Davis and Jessica Rush will be united in marriage this afternoon at 2:00PM in the church auditorium.

The Faith Academy girls and the Cottage Hill boys basketball teams will play in Montgomery today at 4:00PM & 6:00PM respectively for the AISA 3A state titles.  Our own Brianne Woods plays for Faith and John Vickers plays for Cottage Hill.  Nate Blaylock is the assistant coach for Cottage Hill.  Best wishes to both teams.

We have a number of folks out of town because of the public school holidays but we will have our regular services/activities tomorrow.  We will observe the ordinance of baptism as a part of our evening worship service.

Join us in Bible study and worship tomorrow!
