FRIDAY, 4/23/10 UPDATE II

It is now 5:00PM and I am home.  The news from the doctor was not what was hoped for as they were not able to remove any of her lung.  The plan was to remove one third of her right lung but the doctor said that wasn’t possible.  He also said it is not possible to remove the entire right lung because, at her age, she cannot live without it.

So, chemotherapy is an option but, prior to surgery, Lois did not want to go that route.  Obviously, she has awakened to know the results and potential options.

Lois will be in the hospital at least until Sunday.  Keep praying!

FRIDAY, 4/23/10 UPDATE

It is just before 3:00PM and they have just taken Miss Lois into surgery.  They called and had her come in early today so they could start late?

I visited with Donnie Felps & Carla Kyser for a few minutes.  Donnie is doing good and should go home tomorrow.

By the way, my applause to Franklin Graham for his stand on Jesus being the only way to Heaven.

FRIDAY, 4/23/10

Lois Kirschenman is scheduled to have surgery this afternoon.  It is supposed to be an early afternoon (1:00PM) start but who knows.  At any rate, pray that everything goes well during the procedure.

Carlton & Lorraine Brouwer, along with many members of their family, are great friends and wonderful supporters of GRACE Ministries.  They have been on several trips to Guatemala with us.  Carlton, 84 years old, had major heart surgery in Grand Rapids, MI yesterday.  He did well through the surgery.  Pray for his complete recovery.

Faith Hovel continues to do well.  Donnie is in a room and is doing okay but was receiving oxygen yesterday.  As far as I know, everyone else is about the same or better.  Keep praying!

Thanks to Tim Knighten & Soy for putting the lights back in place yesterday afternoon.  Still a little work to do but a taller ladder is needed.  They will get to that today.

Spoke to Ken Freeman ever so briefly via the phone yesterday to assure him of our prayer support.  Pray, attend, and bring others with you this Sunday morning at 10:30AM.

I watched some of the draft last night.  Obviously, it was nice to see Ro & KJ go in the first round.  How about those Sooners?  Three Sooners in the first four picks and four in the first round – impressive!  (Does that speak to Stoops inability as a coach?  Just saying!)  The Big 12 had 9 players taken in the first round followed by 7 from the SEC so that was half of the first round picks.

Personally, I was glad to see Tebow taken in the first round.  Disappointed that he didn’t mentioned Jesus during his initial interview with ESPN.  I was gald to see MK, Jr. about to “blow a fuse” because his boy, Clausen, wasn’t taken in the first round.  MK, the expert, had been promoting him as the possible first pick – maybe he meant of the second round!

My Lakers got beat by OKC and the Dodgers lost again to the Reds.  Double ouch!  The officials are killing us!

Gotta go cut grass before the surgery commences.  Hope you have a great Friday with Jesus!
