WEDNESDAY, 9/28/11

It is going to be a “wild” Wednesday!  The day begins with our morning service which will be followed by our “potluck with the pastor” in the fellowship hall.  Again, Lisa & I will provide the roast, potatoes, drinks, & bread while you bring the trimmings and desserts.  This is always a great time of fellowship.  If possible, join us!

We are on a regular schedule for the evening and will conclude with our 8:00PM Bible study where we will begin our study of Batterson’s book, “Wild Goose Chase”, which will be preceded by a meal featuring roast & potatoes.

This Sunday evening, 10/2, we will observe the ordinances of the Lord’s Supper and baptism as a part of our worship.  Baptismal candidates need to meet in the office at 5:30PM and are asked to bring a change of clothes and a towel.

Visited with Louise Morris & her son, Steve, yesterday morning.  Actually, only visited with Steve as Louise was sleeping soundly.  Also visited with Judy Pierre Brooks and, while she remained in ICU, she was much improved.

If you are a MLB fan, today’s games should hold special interest to you as the WC spot in both leagues remains up for grabs.  Will the Braves on hold?  Will the Red Sox “choke” a playoff spot away?  Can you believe the schedule as it stands right now calls for game seven of the World Series to take place on October 27!  Whatever happened to “the boys of summer?”  O that’s right – television & money!  IMO, the baseball season should end in early October at the very latest and many of the playoff games should be played in the afternoon so children can watch without having to stay up until midnight.  However, I do not think Bud and the gang have called for my opinion.

The real sports story of the week is the Bama vs Florida game on Saturday night.  I am holding my breath on this one and I am trying to get Rick Bradley to attend the game!

I pray that you will have a great Wednesday with Jesus.
