TUESDAY, 5/15/12

I had called a couple of folks last night to tell them that I was almost home and would then be immediately leaving to drive back to Huntsville, Alabama.  However, my plans changed slightly.

As Lisa and I were driving home last night, my sister called to tell me that they were taking our mama to the hospital as she was having chest pains.  Long story short – when they got to the Decatur Hospital the doctor determined that she was having an active heart attack.  They immediately transferred her to the Huntsville Hospital where a heart cath was done.  She had a 90% blockage on the lower portion of her heart and an 80% blockage on the upper portion.  The lower portion of her heart suffered damage from the heart attack.  The doctor inserted a stent in the lower portion and placed her in CCU.  According to him, she will be in the hospital for the next three or four days.

So, I plan on leaving at some point this morning to go visit with mama.  I simply plan to play it by ear as to when I will return home.  I would appreciate your prayers for mama.  I was deeply concerned last night as my mama’s dad suffered a fatal heart attack on May 13, 1970 so there is a family history.  Honestly, I was also very grateful that Lisa and I had seen mama on Sunday night and yesterday.  We spent a couple of hours yesterday morning with her and dad snapping green beans.

Carla Kyser will have a scan this morning and a treatment tomorrow.  Pray that all goes well for her.

Bill & Debbie’s grandson, Josh, is home from the hospital.  Praise the Lord!

Pastor Jack Bailey did a very good job preaching Miss Sarah Reeder’s funeral service.  The Danville Baptist family did a very good of ministering to Miss Sarah’s family.

I do want to say a word of appreciation to Pastor Patrick (my parent’s pastor) and Joe David Bailey (Associate Pastor of DBC) for being with my family at the hospital last night.  It was a call above duty and it is appreciated.

It is almost 12:30AM and it has been a long day with some added stress the last 75 minutes or so on the drive home and then waiting for the results of the heart cath.

I pray that you will have a great Tuesday with Jesus.
