FRIDAY, 5/3/13

The first entry on this blog was 2/14/07 (2,271 days ago) and today’s post marks entry #2,000!  What does that mean?  Nothing really but it does allow the eight readers and me to “celebrate” this milestone!  (My goal in life is to stay ahead of Dr. Jack Bailey in the number of entries!)

Tommy Cole was not discharged from the hospital yesterday – “maybe” today.  (Lisa and I visited with him yesterday and that cost me as Lisa stopped by the hospital gift shop!)

Tena Hovel’s mother did not have surgery.  It is my understanding that they will do it next week.

Miss Edith Kelley’s doctor tells her that they “may” be able to do a surgical procedure on her heart’s valve that will help her.  A surgeon will determine if she meets the necessary criteria.

Pastor Travis Northcutt was released from the hospital.  No broken ribs.

Coach Hubbard tells me that Courtney is feeling much better and goes to Houston next Wednesday for her second chemo treatment.

Nice story on www.al.com about Chastity Touchstone.  Simply type in Chastity Touchstone in the search box and you will find a link to the story about a Semmes, AL mother.  (Thanks to Aunt Sanna for making me aware of this story)

We will receive a “love” offering this Sunday, 5/5, for Jerry & Gloria Whitmore’s mission trip to India.  Pray and give as the Lord leads.

The deacons are asked to meet with me this Sunday, 5/5, at 4:00PM in my office.

We will observe the ordinance of baptism as a part of our evening service this Sunday, 5/5.  Those participating are asked to meet in Bro. Jerry’s office at 5:30PM.  Bring a towel and a change of clothes.

Still have the lost Pandora bracelet.

Nothing like reading at 1:00AM and hearing a noise in your garage.  The freezer we purchased last May 31 has gone out with no warning even though it has all of those alarms!  Lisa (she was real happy about being awakened at that hour) and I were able to save some stuff but lost a lot too as it has apparently been out for a significant number of hours.   Monetary donations being accepted – LOL!

A 46 year old man in Utah is in a coma and listed in critical condition.  Why?  He was officiating a soccer game when a 17 year old player punched him in the face because of a foul call followed by a yellow card.  Wow!  Our society has gone crazy!

From this point forward, I will “unapprove” all derogatory comments left on this site about the Los Angeles Lakers!

I pray that you will have a great Friday with Jesus.
