WEDNESDAY, 10/30/13

Keep praying for Bernard’s family as they deal with the unexpected loss of his brother, Rex.  The obituary was posted on this site last night.

Miss Carol Fletcher will remain in the hospital for a couple of more days following her surgery of yesterday.

Keep praying for all of those who are battling cancer.  Folks are still thanking God for the service that took place this past Sunday at 10:30AM.  We are receiving calls from folks who did not attend but heard about it.  Only God!

I spoke to Lindsey Vice last night and she said they seemed to be basically “ready” for the Hallelujah Festival which takes place tomorrow night, 10/31, from 6:00 – 8:00AM.  As of right now (4:30AM), The Weather Channel is calling for a 10 – 20% chance of rain during that time.  There will be a few outside activities but most things will be inside the CAB so we should be good either way.  One of the local stations last night forecast the rain to come later in the night.  God knows!

Men’s breakfast on Saturday morning at 7:00AM.  Work day follows at 8:00AM until 11:00AM.  Our focus on the work day will be yard work (bring appropriate tools, please), washing the buses, et cetera.  (The HF team may use this as a time to store things away and finish cleaning up?)

Speaking of Saturdays, the month of October marked the 41st anniversary of the bus ministry at Friendship.  Since October of 1972, our buses have been bringing folks to Sunday School and the morning service.  We have some folks who have been involved in this ministry for many years.  Bro. Benny McGath serves as our Bus Director and I appreciate him and every person who works in the bus ministry.  Thank God for this vital mission right here at the house – our Jerusalem!

We will ordain John Vickers to the ministry during the evening service on Sunday, 11/10.  We will host a reception immediately following that service.  The ordination council will meet at 4:00PM that day.  More details to come.

Time change this Sunday which means we “fall back” one hour before going to bed on Saturday night.  That is great!

Lazaro Suruy arrived in Guatemala safe and sound yesterday.  Today, 10/30, he celebrates his 40th birthday so “happy birthday Lazaro!”

Regular schedule today/tonight.  The CAB will be closed to any activities.  All of our students (6th – 12th) will meet in the youth building.  Otherwise, normal day/night.

I pray that you will have a great Wednesday with Jesus.
