Bernard & Pattie Suthoff are in the Dothan, AL area today as her brother-in-law is having his hip replaced.

I talked to Eddie Whitmore yesterday about his treatments.  He will receive his another one this week.  He takes three and then takes a week off before repeating the process.  He looked and sounded good yesterday.  Eddie is such a gracious gentleman.

Becky Sellers will see both of her doctors today.

It is my understanding that Dave Sellers’ mother is doing well.  I am not sure about when she will have the procedure on her heart.

Robin Corley is at home.  I am not exactly sure what they are going to do regarding her treatment.  I do know that she needs our prayer support.

Helen Hatcher is scheduled to have surgery this Friday morning.

Rusty Suthoff will go under the knife on July 2 to repair the ACL in his knee.  I would have just played through it but Rusty is not me!

We were blessed with good services yesterday.  Really strong attendance in the first service and very good attendance in the second service.  Last night’s attendance was very good too.  Jim Chinners, Jeff Holifield, Dana Taylor, Eric Collier, Amber Joyner and Bro. Chris (video) all did a great job of sharing during the evening service.  Lots of positive feedback from that service.

Pattie Suthoff sent me a picture of the harvest from their bean crop – one bean.  Uno (for our Spanish speaking readers).  I really do hate it for them but it was pretty funny after the fact.

I pray that you will have a great Monday with Jesus.

SUNDAY, 6/21/15

Today’s Bible reading – 2 Kings 1:1-2:25 Acts 13:42-14:7 Psalm 139:1-24 Proverbs 17:19-21

Happy Father’s Day!  I, along with this fathers who were on the GRACE team, have the somewhat unusual privilege of celebrating Father’s Day for the second time this year as this past Wednesday, 6/17, was Father’s Day in Guatemala.

We are on a regular schedule this morning and evening.  My prayer is that the members of the Friendship family will be faithful and in their rightful place this morning and evening.

Keep praying for Robin Corley, Eddie Whitmore and Becky Sellers as they battle their respective malignancies.

Willie Johnson’s brother, Ross, has been battling leukemia and is not doing well at all so definitely pray for him too.

I pray that you will have a great Sunday with Jesus.

SATURDAY, 6/20/15

Today’s Bible reading – 1 Kings 22:1-53 Acts 13:16-41 Psalm 138:1-8 Proverbs 17:17-18

The funeral service for Carlos Raxon will take place this morning at 10:00AM.  Pray for his family as they go through this most difficult time.  Tim Knighten, I appreciate the words you shared with the Mission Committee via e-mail.

Levi & Brianne invite all members of the Friendship family to their wedding ceremony this evening beginning at 6:00PM in the church auditorium.  I am honored to be asked to serve as the minister in this service.  Brianne is such a sweetheart.  Levi is Paul’s brother.

Speaking of Paul, I learned that the guys from the TNBA presented him with a trophy and a gift card this past Tuesday night as it was Paul’s last night before moving to Texas.  What a class move by those guys!  (The trophy was for the “real” MVP but everyone who has witnessed any of the TNBA games knows who the “real” MVP is – just saying!)

Regular schedule tomorrow morning and evening.

I took the 12:20AM flight home from Guatemala yesterday morning which put me in Mobile at 8:45AM.  I really figured that I would get home with grass to mow and a garden that needed attention.  I was very pleasantly surprised to see that Soy & Charles had taken care of all of the grass cutting and that Lisa had taken care of the garden.  As a matter of fact, Lisa worked in the garden each day that I was away and did a remarkable job!  The Lord really blessed the green beans and peas.  Now, all that is left is okra, squash, egg plants and peppers.  So, I was able to rest yesterday and will focus on studying and the wedding ceremony today.  It is all good!

I pray that you will have a great Saturday with Jesus.

FRIDAY, 6/19/15

Today’s Bible reading – 1 Kings 20:1-21:29 Acts 12:24-13:15 Psalm 137:1-9 Proverbs 17:16

Robin Corley remains in the hospital.

Yesterday afternoon, Kirk Lightfield took me to the home of Carlos Raxon for a visit.  Carlos served as the general contractor for the construction of the feeding center in Guatemala.  Carlos was talking but it was about days gone by.  His family members were sitting around just trying to comfort him.  As Tico Vargas and I were basically pulling up to the Guatemala City airport, I received a call from John King informing me that Carlos had just passed from this life.  Carlos was fifty one years of age.  Pray for his family as they will most likely have his service this afternoon.

The wedding ceremony of Levi Seymour and Brianne Woods takes place tomorrow evening, 6/20, at 6:00PM in the church auditorium. The members of the Friendship family are invited to attend.

We are on a regular schedule this Sunday morning and evening.

I pray that you will have a great Friday with Jesus.

THURSDAY, 6/18/15

Today’s Bible reading – 1 Kings 19:1-21 Acts 12:1-23 Psalm 136:1-26 Proverbs 17:14-15

I apologize for not having an entry yesterday.  We were without internet service from Tuesday afternoon until yesterday morning.  By the time we got service, it was time to leave with the mission team.

Robin Corley is in the hospital and has some tough decisions in front of her regarding her cancer.  Pray for her in a special way.

Jo Nell Barnes’ daughter, Carol, did well through her surgery on Wednesday.  The doctors do not think there is anything malignant.  Pray that the tests will verify that fact.

They are monitoring Tommy Johnson’s granddaughter’s platelets for a month or so.

Cecil Guidry was given a good report in that she has no breaks or fractures from her recent fall.

The GRACE team is traveling home today.

Brianne Woods and Levi Seymour’s wedding ceremony takes place this Saturday, 6/20, at 6:00PM from the church auditorium.  All members of the Friendship family are invited to attend the wedding and the reception which will take place in the CAB.

I pray that you will have a great Thursday with Jesus.

We are on a regular schedule tomorrow morning and evening.  My prayer is that the members of the Friendship family will be faithful in all areas.

Also, Imelda Davis’ sister’s service takes place tomorrow from San Souci Baptist Church.

Sunday, 6/21 – 2 Kings 1:1-2:25 Acts 13:42-14:7 Psalm 139:1-24 Proverbs 17:19-21

I am told that our services with Evangelist James Messer went well yesterday morning.  Thank you to those who attended and to those who gave financially to support his ministry.

I am also told that our VBS family night was very well attended.  We had at least one child who made a POF who came and brought her parents.  They inquired about her following the Lord in believer’s baptism.  Praise the Lord!

I have not gotten an update on Jimmy Moates or Caroline Ford as far as their hospital status is concerned but do know that we need to keep praying for them.

Jo Nell’s daughter, Carol, is scheduled to have surgery Wednesday, 6/17, in Birmingham.  Pray for her and the family.

Cecil Guidry recently took a fall that has not caused her to be confined to the bed which is so unlike her.  Pray that she will recover soon.

Tommy Johnson’s granddaughter, Cheyenne, is supposed to get the results of some tests back this week.  Pray that the reports will be good.

Plans call for our prayer time and TNBA to take place tomorrow night as scheduled.

I pray that you will have a great Monday with Jesus.

SATURDAY, 6/13/15

Today’s Bible reading – 1 Kings 11:1-12:19 Acts 9:1-25 Psalm 131:1-3 Proverbs 17:4-5

Jimmy Moates remains hospitalized.  It is my understanding that he is anemic and was to receive blood yesterday.  His mouth is improving some.  He and the family are thankful for your continued prayer support.

Caroline Ford was admitted to the hospital yesterday.  She is also anemic and will be receiving blood.  She was running an elevated temperature.  Obviously, it is a good thing that she did not make the GRACE trip this week.

Imelda Davis’ sister passed away.  The visitation and service will take place on Tuesday.

Evangelist James Messer will be our guest messenger tomorrow morning in both services.  Pray for him and plan to attend!  We will receive a special offering for him.

VBS family night tomorrow night beginning at 5:00PM.

I pray that you will have a great Saturday with Jesus.

FRIDAY, 6/12/15

Today’s Bible reading – 1 Kings 9:1-10:29 Acts 8:14-40 Psalm 130:1-8 Proverbs 17:2-3

Another good day of VBS was had as there were several professions of faith.  Today is the final day of our 2015 VBS with the grand finale coming on Sunday night with our family night beginning at 5:00PM.

On Sunday morning, the Friendship family will be privileged to host Evangelist James Messer in both services.  I encourage the members of the Friendship family to be faithful to attend.  Remember, we will receive a love offering for Bro. James.

I am writing this around 10:30PM on Thursday night while sitting in the L.G. Camp, Jr. Mission House waiting on the final fifteen folks to arrive from the States.  Everyone else has arrived and have all called it a night.  The folks who arrive earlier today all left home way before daylight this morning and they were tired.  I suspect the final fifteen should arrive by 11:00PM.

Back at the house, Lisa is doing an excellent job of taking care of the garden with an assist from Deidra.  She is picking snap beans and peas by the five gallon bucketfuls.  She is also picking squash, okra and peppers.  The Lord has certainly blessed our garden with an abundance of produce and we are thankful!

I pray that you will have a great Friday with Jesus.  Pray for VBS!
