THURSDAY, 4/2/20

“So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful.” Colossians 3:12-15 (NASB)

We had two online Bible studies taking place simultaneously last night with one being led by Bro. Abel and the other being led by me.  Last week Jeff Holified and Rita Broome did an online Bible study with our Hispanic ministry but I do not know if that happened last night too.  Folks, for me it is simply not “normal” and I do not like it even a little bit.  However, I am doing whatever it takes at this point to help prevent the spread of the virus.  I am trying to be content!  We had around forty to forty five folks participating in the Bible study I led.  Not sure about the numbers for Bro. Abel’s group.

I do know that some folks went to the auditorium and prayed yesterday morning and then others went last night.  Thank you to the folks who were involved either online or in prayer.

If you are going to give an offering this week that is not online then please, if possible, bring it to the church office this morning by noon.  WT, please make the deposit this afternoon, if possible.

Remember, you can give online 24/7, mail a check to P.O. Box 756, leave a check made payable to Friendship Baptist in the drop box at my wife’s office or bring an offering of check or cash by the church office today between 8:00AM and 3:00PM.  Thank you for giving to the Lord through the church!

Let me encourage all thirteen of our readers to read the last couple of blog entries posted by Deidra.  They are good.  Maybe you will feel led to buy a bag lunch for a family in Guatemala.  This bag lunch will provide food for a family for several days.  This bag lunch only costs fifteen dollars.  The people in Guatemala are suffering big time and they will not be receiving stimulus checks or loans.  Maybe some of our long distance readers can encourage their family, church family, friends, et cetera to purchase bag lunches.  Go to shininglightabroad.com to read the blog entries and for more information.

Our online schedule for this Sunday, April 5, 2020, is music & message at 8:00AM, Sunday School lesson by Bro. Jerry Hovel at 9:00AM and Power Up lesson at 9:30AM.  Bro. Abel will lead a Discipleship Training online class at 5:00PM.  I am in hopes that Dale will lead another Bible study at 6:00PM.

How about those “testers” you mentioned the other day?  Great question.  Still waiting on some necessary equipment to arrive.  It will most likely be Saturday before I can make that announcement one way or the other.

We are doing pretty good with folks sending in their cell numbers and e-mail addresses.  Please send them to me at pastor@friendshipfamily.net.  Have not done it yet?  Do it right now while it is on your mind!

I failed to mention it yesterday morning but my older brother, Eddie, officially retired at the end of the day on March 31, 2020.  He worked for his company for forty one years.  Congratulations Eddie!  (He can now spend his ever waking moment taking care of our dad!)

Wash your hands repeatedly!  Do not touch your face!  If you even feel like you might be sick, stay home!

I pray that you will have a great Thursday with Jesus.
