SATURDAY, 7/9/22

ONE MONTH, ONE CHURCH!  Our schedule for tomorrow, Sunday, 7/10, is Sunday School at 9:15AM, worship at 10:30AM, VBS at 5:00PM and worship at 6:00PM.  NO early worship service.  Pass the word!

Our deacons will meet from 4:00PM until 6:00PM in the church office.

The final tally as it relates to our cake auction stands at twenty nine thousand three hundred and thirty eight dollars ($29,338).  Praise the Lord!  Here is a challenge – let’s go ahead and make that an even thirty thousand dollars.  How?  Simple, anyone willing to help do that can simply contact me via email (pastor@friendshipfamily.net) today and commit to give the entire six hundred and sixty two dollars needed to reach that figure or any portion thereof.  Once we reach the thirty thousand dollars figure then I will post a blog saying “job well done!”  Anyone in?  (You do not have to be a member of the Friendship family to help meet this challenge – just saying!)

I pray that you will have a great Saturday with Jesus.

FRIDAY, 7/8/22

Here is a very important word for the members of the Friendship family – there will NOT be an 8:00AM service this Sunday, July 10.  That will be true for the following three Sundays (7/17, 7/24 & 7/31) as well.  Again, there will NOT be an 8:00AM service this Sunday, July 10.  Please pass the word!

So the schedule on our campus for the next four Sundays will look like this – Sunday School will begin at 9:15AM followed by corporate worship beginning at 10:30AM.  VBS will begin at 5:00PM.  Our evening worship will begin at 6:00PM.  I am praying for the members of the Friendship family to be faithful to attend these services!

I am asking our deacons to meet this Sunday, 7/10, from 4:00 – 6:00PM.  This meeting will take place in the church office.  Brothers, please take note and make plans to attend.

I pray that you will have a great Friday with Jesus!

P.S. – NO 8:00AM service on Sundays for the remainder of July!

THURSDAY, 7/7/22

Happy eighteenth birthday to our great nephew, Grayson Glenn.  I hope he has an awesome day!  The only downer is that his maternal grandparents chose to go out of town instead of staying at home to celebrate this most special milestone with him in person.  What was Sue thinking?  Anyway, happy birthday Grayson!

Ok, the question of the week has been, “what is the total raised by the cake auction this past Sunday night, 7/3?”  I do not have the final total but I can report this morning that twenty eight thousand five hundred dollars is where we presently stand.  That figure is going to increase some and I will update whenever it does.  Folks, I stand amazed at the goodness of God.  To God be the glory!  Thank you to each person who helped make this possible!  Wow!

Our Sunday schedule is going to experience a major change for the rest of July 2022.  Beginning this Sunday, July 10, and continuing through Sunday, July 31, this will be our schedule:  Sunday School begins at 9:15AM, morning worship begins at 10:30AM and evening worship begins at 6:00PM.  There will be NO 8:00AM worship service for these four Sundays!  “ONE MONTH, ONE CHURCH” is the theme.  Please pass the word!  (I need as many folks as possible to contact Amy Switzer to let her know of this change!)  The plan is to revert to two morning services the first Sunday of August 2022.

I talked to Tiffany last night and she said her mother, Myrtle Bowden, is experiencing a lot of pain.  Please keep praying for Myrtle, Sammy and the family.  By the way, tomorrow is Myrtle’s birthday.  It would be a nice gesture if folks would send her a happy birthday wish.  (I do not suggest calling because she is not feeling well)

The plan is to have a memorial service for Joyce Hacker on Saturday, July 23.  Details forthcoming.  Keep praying for Joyce’s family.

I have always been told that “you cannot have your cake and eat it too!”  Well, Miss Vinnie Brewer did!  Just saying!

I pray that you will have a great Thursday with Jesus.

P.S. – NO 8:00AM worship service the rest of July!  Pass the word!

WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON, JULY 6, 2022

Yesterday morning, July 5, Joyce Glass Hacker was promoted from this earth to Heaven.  Pray for the family as they walk through this valley.  A memorial service will take place at a later date.

SATURDAY, 7/2/22

Wow, I have definitely been inconsistent with my blog entries this week.  Why?  Exactly!

First, I need our nine active deacons to check their email this morning for an important announcement.

There will be one service on our campus tomorrow, Sunday, July 3, 2022.  That corporate worship experience will begin at 8:00AM sharp!  We will dismissed no later than 9:15PM unless the Holy Spirit shows up in a mighty way and that would be more than welcomed by me.

We will begin our church wide barbecue fellowship at 5:00PM tomorrow.  Here are some important notes relating to that fellowship – folks bringing cakes for the auction need to have them in place no later than 4:15PM (bring cakes to the CAB).  The side dishes (potato salad/chips, baked beans, desserts) for the fellowship need to be in the CAB no later than 4:45PM.

We will have a “soft” opening to the cake auction beginning at 5:00PM and then will auction off a few cakes during the 5:00PM hour.  The actual auction will begin at 6:00PM sharp with a goal of everything being finished no later than 7:00PM.

Stacey & Gayla Dyess now have Porky in their possession.  Yesterday was an emotional day for Joey & Bibbi Bosarge as they parted with Porky.  The good news is that they kept his collar as a reminder of him.  If you see the Bosarge family shedding tears during the meal then you will be aware of their situation.

Stacey will be cooking for around fifteen hours today.  What a great service to the Friendship family.

I spoke to Miss Vinnie Brewer via the phone last night.  Lord willing, she will have her cake baked and ready to go tomorrow afternoon.  Unless someone knows something that I do not know, the cake baked by Miss Vinnie will go for the highest price in the auction.  I do not think it will even be close.  All of the cakes/pies are going to do well and I am very thankful to each baker (even Brandon & Pam).  Remember, this auction is going to help feed one hundred and twenty three families in Guatemala for the dates of Monday, July 4, through Sunday, July 10.  Good ministry stuff!

I pray that you will have a great Saturday with Jesus.  Stay dry!
