TUESDAY, 5/21/24

I have a red truck!  Hello!

I failed to mention in yesterday’s entry the great job done by our music ministry in Sunday’s services.  First, the adult choir was fifty-one folks strong under the leadership of Miss Jeanette accompanied on the piano by Miss Kim.  How about that!  Then, Miss Dede “school teacher” Tagert and her son, Ian, did a great job of leading our children’s choir in our evening service.  Sweet Leslee Harrington finished the musical portion of that service by leading our preschoolers in blessing us with their singing and cuteness!

Brad, Emmy & Shiloh did great in sharing the special in our morning service.  Good stuff!

My apologies for my forgetfulness yesterday morning!

Kathy King begins her treatment plan today.  Pray for Kathy, Matt & Jasmine.

Pastor Gene Clark’s wife, Sue, will have her heart shocked today in hopes of then being able to do surgery on her broken hip.  Pray for all to go well.

Grady Walker is still in the hospital.  Not sure what is next for him.  Pray for Grady & Carolyn.

I do not have an update on the Perry infant but I do know they have a social media site set up.  I just depend on Katelyn Johnson to keep me updated and she does it very well.

I have hopes to meet with Miss Annie’s doctor this morning to discuss her situation.  This is actually Lisa’s job but she is traveling the world while I handle all of the duties at home!  Just saying!

I strongly encourage the members of the Friendship family to join us in attending the 5:00PM service this Sunday, 5/26, at the Grand Bay Church of God.  Pastor Jamie Passman and his folks have been so gracious to agree to host us for this special service.  The preaching will not be much but the combined music effort will be outstanding!  Folks, do not miss this one!

Our church office hours are now Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9:00AM until noon.  Bro. Abel and I are readily available 24/7.

I pray that you will have a great Tuesday with Jesus.

MONDAY, 5/20/24

Good Monday morning.  Running a bit late this morning.  My apologies.

Wow, we were blessed with two great services yesterday.  I have received very positive comments on our evening service.  Folks, God is good!

The final total for the “Wyse offering” is not yet known but it will be in the neighborhood of two thousand dollars.  Thank you for giving to the Lord!

Grady Walker remains in the hospital and is not doing well.  Please pray for Grady & Carolyn.

Kathy King begins chemotherapy treatments tomorrow.  She definitely needs our prayer support.

Mike & Cindy Perry’s granddaughter came through the surgery but is in critical condition. Please pray fervently!

Pastor Gene Clark’s wife, Sue, fell and broke her hip Saturday.  She needs surgery but is in afib which prevents her from having surgery.  She is in serious condition.  Pray for Pastor Gene & Sue.

Our church office hours are now Mondays, Tuesdays, & Thursdays from 9:00AM until noon.  Laura Fosmore will be in the office during those days/hours.

By the way, the church office will be closed next Monday, 5/27, for Memorial Day.

I pray that you will have a great Monday with Jesus.

FRIDAY, 5/17/24

Wow, have I really missed posting an entry for the past two days?  Personally, I think something must be wrong with your computer.  Call Rhett Butler for a free examination of your computer!

URGENT PRAYER REQUEST – Mike & Cindy Perry’s newborn granddaughter will be having heart surgery beginning at 5:00AM our time today.  The surgery is expected to last nine hours.  This is obviously a critical surgery!  Pray, pray, pray!  Katelyn Johnson can tell you how to keep up with this situation via FB.

Visited with Grady & Carolyn Walker yesterday afternoon.  Grady has been moved to a regular room due to the absolute insistence of Carolyn.  Grady is not doing well.  Keep praying!

High school class of 2024 – we will recognize those graduates who attend Friendship this Sunday morning, 5/19.  This will be the first thing in our order of service so do not be late if you are a family member!

We would love to have at least fifty folks join us in the choir this Sunday morning.  Practice at 8:15AM.  Come join us!

VBS worker’s meeting this Sunday afternoon beginning at 4:00PM.  Bro. Abel will lead this meeting.

Bro. Chris will lead a meeting of the students who will be attending camp this Summer.  Meeting begins at 4:15PM in the youth building.  Parents are obviously encouraged to attend.

We will finish with our “I Am A Church Member” study this Sunday night beginning at 5:00PM.  Our children’s choir will be singing during that service.

We were blessed with a great time of food and fellowship this past Wednesday.  Many thanks to each person who helped in any way.  Johnny & Sharlene Sessions were the ones with the idea and they had much help.  Again, thank you to all!

Katelyn Johnson is asking folks who have helped with food in recent weeks to please get their dishes from the Preschool Building kitchen.  Like yesterday!  If not, they will be discarded.

Lisa and I will be traveling today and tomorrow in order to attend our great niece’s wedding.  Lord willing, Lisa will leave early Sunday AM headed to Guatemala for two weeks.  I have plans to be in the pulpit this Sunday morning and evening.

I pray that you will have a great Friday with Jesus.  Next scheduled blog entry – Monday, 5/20.  Just FYI.

TUESDAY, 5/14/24

Leslie Hacker was kind enough to call me yesterday to share the arrangements for Randy Collins, Sr.  The visitation will take place Thursday, May 16, from 10:30AM until the noon service time.  Visitation and service will be from the Cowboy Baptist Church on Argyle Road.  Keep praying for Randy’s family.

I was able to visit with Grady & Carolyn Walker yesterday afternoon.  They had not received any test results at that time.  Grady is restless.  Pray for Grady & Carolyn.

Fish fry tomorrow, 5/15, immediately following our morning service.  Everyone who attends the service is most welcome to attend the fish fry.  Potato salad (Stacey & Gayla) and baked beans (Lisa) provided.  You bring the desserts.

How is that sin list going?

I pray that you will have a great Tuesday with Jesus!

We were blessed with a really good service yesterday morning.  Mother’s Day is like Easter Sunday when it comes to attendance.  I am thankful to each person who attended our service.  I am thankful to God for His blessings!

Grady Walker remains in the hospital.  Grady needs our prayers in a great way.

The family of Randy Collins will make arrangements today.  Keep praying for them.

Fish fry this Wednesday immediately following our morning service (for those who attend the service).  We will meet in the CAB.  Stacey & Gayla are providing the potato salad.  Lisa is providing the baked beans.  Those attending are asked to bring a dessert.

I pray that you will have a great Monday with Jesus.

THURSDAY, 5/9/24

Wow, we had a really good day in our services yesterday.  The attendance in our evening service was better than it has been for some while.  Morning attendance was strong too.  Thank you, Jesus!

Grady Walker remains in ICU.  He was sleeping when I visited yesterday so I just prayed and left.  Hope to see him again today.  Pray for Grady & Carolyn.

Bro. Chris Scofield’s mother also remains in ICU.  Keep praying.

Miss Annie Hayes remains in the hospital.  She “may” get moved to a rehab facility today or tomorrow.  Thank you for praying for Miss Annie.

Keep praying for Sharlene’s brother, Ernie, and his wife, Cindy!

Remember, we will receive a “Wyse” offering on Sunday, 5/19.

Also, we will recognize our 2024 high school graduates during the morning service on 5/19.

This was sent to me on Tuesday regarding this past Sunday night’s service – “Bro Terrys preaching brought me to judgement, that night the spirit of God revealed to me what was wrong and has continued daily. The experience brought me face to face with God, I do not know how else to explain what happened. I have a been a stumbling block to myself, making excuses. My selfishness, praying it be put to death by the power of God. I want to be identified with God.”

I pray that you will have a great Thursday with Jesus.

TUESDAY, 5/7/24

Happy thirteen birthday to our granddaughter, Emmy Hutto!  Now Brad & Daphne have two teens to raise!  Bless them!  Lisa, Dana & I took Emmy to breakfast this morning and we will celebrate with a party tonight.  I hope Emmy has a great day!  We love Emmy!  Happy birthday!

I also want to wish a happy birthday to my younger sister, Deidra Tucker Burleson!  She is not turning thirteen today!  It was good to speak to her via the phone this morning.  Happy birthday, Deidra!

I just posted yesterday’s blog entry.  What happened?  I had written it and then forwarded it to Katelyn Johnson to proof and then send.  Just realized she dropped the proverbial ball!  (That is my story and I am sticking with it!)

I have visited with Miss Annie Hayes and Bro. Chris Scofield’s mother this morning.  Miss Annie “may” be moved to rehab.  Bro. Chris’ mother remains in ICU.

I will visit Grady Walker this afternoon as he too is in the hospital.  Pray for Grady & Carolyn.

Rachel Walton has had an uncle to pass from this life.  Details pending.  Pray for Rachel and her family.

Sharlene Sessions’ brother, Ernie, and his wife, Cindy, are both in need of our prayer support.  Pray without ceasing!

I received the following from a member of the Friendship family earlier today – “I’ve never liked to face anything that makes me feel uncomfortable. I guess I have more of a “head in the sand” kind of personality. But I’m working on my list and praying through them-and shedding some tears. This is the hardest thing I’ve ever done-but I sure needed it. Thank you for bringing Pastor Terry Sunday night. It was truly an eye-opening experience.”  My reply to this person was “wow!”

Friendship family, are you working on your list?

Regular schedule on our campus tomorrow morning and evening.

Bro. Abel & Candy are on a cruise.  Good for them.  (Rather them than me!)

Senior adults (all Wednesday morning attenders), we will have a fish fry next Wednesday, 5/115, immediately following our morning service.  Johnny Sessions is supposed to be catching the fish.  As of now, we have five loaves of bread and two fish – just saying!  However, Johnny seems to think that will be enough.  Remember, Stacey & Gayla are handling the potato salad, Lisa is handling the baked beans and the rest of you are bringing the desserts.  Anyone want to bring coleslaw?  Invite others to join you for this day of food and fellowship!

I pray that you will have a great rest of your Tuesday with Jesus.
