WEDNESDAY, 11/27/19

“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” (Psalm 119:11)

The members of the Friendship family need to be aware of several things this morning.  First, there will be no activities, services, classes, et cetera on our campus this morning or evening.

Second, the church office will close at noon today and will be closed tomorrow as well.  It will reopen on Monday, 12/2, at 8:00AM.  There will be a skeleton crew of one in the office this morning from 8:00AM until noon.  I am not giving that one the option of being off this morning but the others are enjoying the entire day off.

Third, there will be no letter from the pastor or news & notes sent/mailed this week.  How will you survive?  Easy, there will be a blog entry each day!

Fourth, we are asking each person attending our services this week to bring at least one can of food that will be given to Pastor Mark Williams and the Faith by Works ministry located on Douglas Road in Grand Bay.  Just place the cans (out of the bags) on the steps in front of the platform.  We will pray over these cans asking God to bless those who will receive them.

Fifth our deacons will meet this Sunday afternoon at 4:00PM.

Sixth, please make a note that Pastor Mack Morris will be our guest speaker on Sunday, December 8, in both of our morning services.  Please pray and attend.

Finally, you will soon be hearing about a “white Christmas” at Friendship.  Bro. Abel will be sharing the details.

Miss Maxine Dupont will be discharged from the rehab facility this weekend.  That is good news.  Pray for Maxine.

Keep praying for Myrtle Bowden!

It is a long story but word came yesterday that my dad will have a port placed on Monday morning and then receive a chemo treatment on Tuesday.  Wait, I thought you said your dad could not take chemo?  You are correct in your thought process.  However, the doctor said the new treatment was not the answer and that this chemo is supposed to work.  We shall see.  Thank you for your prayers.

Deidra and I left early yesterday morning and met a family in Hattiesburg, MS.  That was a long meeting and then we headed to Richton where we went to the cemetery and then visited two of Lisa’s maternal aunts and their husbands.  From there it was lunch at Trudie’s in Beaumont, MS.  You have never been to Trudie’s?  Your loss.  (It is a deacons’ haven as they allow smoking!) We then drove to McLain, MS and visited with Lisa’s oldest maternal aunt – Aunt Cleo.  She will be one hundred years old this Saturday, 11/30.  She still lives alone, attends church and loves the Lord.  Deidra and I walked away from there very blessed!  What a woman of God!

By the way, pray for the couple considering moving to the mission field.  They need direction.  Anyone want to buy a farm with four chicken houses?

Have I mentioned that I do not think Alabama will beat Auburn this Saturday?  I will have no problem if they prove me wrong and you say “you were so wrong!”  Of course, folks like Ross Hatcher, my siblings, and others will be thrilled for me to be right on this one – LOL!

I pray that you will have a great Wednesday with Jesus.
