MONDAY, 10/26/09

We had a good day in our services yesterday – praise the Lord!  We welcome Miss Willie Roberts into the Friendship family.  (Sidebar for our OT readers – mother of “Pee Wee from Grand Bay” on the “Hey Coach” Bama radio show)

The Spanish service went well although our numbers were down a bit.  I learned last night that some of our faithful attenders to that service got a new work schedule that means they are working on Sundays through December.

Miss Vivian Ladnier remains hospitalized and I learned this morning that Fannie Fortenberry is in the hospital too.  Pray for these ladies.

It is with a sad heart that I report that Pastor Donald Sewer’s wife, Valerie, passed away Saturday.  She had been battling cancer.  I also learned that Mariam Moates’ life long friend, Flo Powell, passed away on Saturday too.  Please join me in praying for these families.

I would also ask that you join me in continuing to pray for Billy Smith as he recovers from his knee replacement surgery.

The team from 1st Wilmington returns home from Guatemala today.  Louise tells me they have had a good week of ministry.

Tom Burris is a friend from Faith Baptist in Bartlett, TN.  He sent an e-mail last night to say that he will be leading a team to Guatemala City this Wednesday.  They will be working with Mario & Amuy Monroy.  He asked for our prayer support.  Faith Baptist is a great church with an awesome missions ministry.  They are also great supporters of GRACE Ministries.

One of my friends happens to be a UT fan.  (It is the “all things to all men” philosophy!)  Anyway, he had the nerve to e-mail me last week to say that he had a “feeling” that UT would beat Alabama this past Saturday.  Please!

However, it was only a 67% good Saturday as ND beat BC!  It takes a Bama win, UT loss, and ND loss to be a perfect Saturday – LOL!

I appreciate the card and gift given to me last night for Pastor Appreciation Month.  I am blessed to pastor such wonderful folks!  Thank you for the privilege!

I pray that you will have a great Monday with Jesus!
