TUESDAY, 1/22/08

I waited a little later to post today as I wanted to visit the hospitals first in order to give an up to the minute report.  Miss Exie Woods was some better.  She recognized me, held my hand during our visit, and nodded when I asked her questions.

Vaughn Womack was taken about 8:45AM for a 10:00AM procedure to place the port in his shoulder area.  If all goes well, they will begin his treatment soon.

The funeral service for Buddy Poiroux, Gerald’s brother, will take place tomorrow afternoon at 2:00PM from Serenity Funeral Home.  There will be a two hour visitation prior to the service.

The funeral service for Jackie Roe, Vic Burnett’s mother, will take place Thursday, 1/24, in Ashland, KY, at 1:00PM.  You can read the obituary online at the Ashland Daily Independent newspaper (www.dailyindependent.com).  You can also go to www.steenfuneralhomes.com to sign the guest book expressing your prayer support for this family.

I read late last night where a Swedish University has received $590,000 to study the effects on the ozone when cows belch!  (Personally, I am wondering if any folks from Michigan State and/or Auburn will be involved in this cutting edge research) The thinking is that the greenhouse effect has been caused in part by cows and their belching.  Of course, this research is already taking place in Canada so they will confer with them to compare notes.  I was wondering why I haven’t heard from Mark Mast in the last few weeks and now I know!

I am going to a meeting about GRACE Ministries and the Alabama Baptist partnership with Guatemala.  Reggie Quimby who oversees all of the mission work for Alabama Baptists will be present for this meeting along with several others.  Hopefully, more Alabama Baptist Churches will be able to use the mission house in the coming years.

I hope you have a great rest of this Tuesday with Jesus.
