MONDAY, 10/24/11

The Lord blessed and we had a good day in our services yesterday.  I thought Bro. Robbie, Bro. Jim and Bro. Jerry & Miss Gloria did a very nice job of sharing during the evening service.  Thanks to all who attended.  Thanks for being faithful!

I visited with Louise Morris yesterday afternoon after the second morning service.  She was awake but did not really talk to me but just nodded when I asked her questions.  I had a good talk with her daughter, Judy, and prayed with Louise.  I know that Miss Vinnie Brewer is coordinating meals to help during this time.  Interested in helping?  Contact the church office or Miss Vinnie.  Keep praying for Louise and her family.

Pattie Suthoff says that Gage is about the same physically.  She and Bernard spent Saturday in Satsuma and went back again yesterday afternoon.  Keep praying for Gage and his family.

I posted last week that Miss Lois Kirschenman was going to have an experimental treatment.  That was incorrect.  She is not going to receive any more treatments.  Pray for Lois and her family.

Tony Barnes was not in the services yesterday as he hurt his leg again.  He sees the doctor this week and, hopefully, they can help him.

Carla Kyser continues to receive her treatments.  Pray for her.

The deacons moved last night that the Friendship family i.e. GRACE Ministries accept the invitation to host another pastors’ conference in El Salvador next year and all years following.   The invitation for next year has already been extended.  I think this is a God thing and the church family embraced it unanimously.  Praise the Lord!  Of course, that was already true of the conference in Guatemala.

We are having “potluck with the pastor” this Wednesday, 10/26, with one twist – the meal will take place in our home so it will be a meal/open house deal.  Lisa and I will provide everything except the dessert.  The meal will consist of mayonnaise sandwiches – LOL!  Actually, it will be ham, baked beans, potato salad, bread and drinks.  Please pass the word!

A work day will take place next Saturday, 10/29, beginning with breakfast at 7:30AM.  We need power washers, yard tools, stuff to work flower beds, et cetera.  The weather forecast calls for cool and clear so it should be a great day.  We will finish before noon.

Bro. Chris made 8,706 free throws this past weekend.  That was great even though it was short of his goal of 10,000.  I think he is going to try again this weekend?

Wow, the Michigan State game had an incredible finish this past Saturday night!  Are you kidding me?  The Lions are on a downward slide at the moment and if Stafford’s injury is bad then it could get even worse!  June Bailey is not happy today as the Cards lost again last night but Wes Bates is thrilled!  Wes & Rebekah actually attended the WS game on Saturday night!

Hope you have a great Monday with Jesus!
