TUESDAY, 10/30/18

“Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.” (Ephesians 4:32)

Betty Hamil had her esophagus stretched yesterday and that procedure went well.  It will be repeated in a month or so as the doctor did not want to risk doing more yesterday.  Thank the Lord for this successful procedure.

Zach Switzer will have his knee surgically repaired this morning.  He tore his ACL while playing football about one month ago.  Pray that this surgery will be successful.

Hallelujah Festival tomorrow evening from 6:00 – 8:00PM.  If you have volunteered to bake a cake then please remember to bring it to the church at some point tomorrow.  You can leave your cake on the counter in the fellowship hall at any point tomorrow.  Thank you for doing this.  Thank you those who have purchased candy too.

Remember, no services tomorrow morning or evening.

I want to say a huge “thank you” to the folks who traveled to Port St Joe, Florida yesterday to help the Long Avenue Baptist Church family in the aftermath of Hurricane Michael.  I could not have asked for a better group of folks – great workers and absolutely fantastic attitudes.  A really good day of fellowship.

Lisa got our day started right as she got up at 1:45AM and cooked sausage biscuits for the team.  They were great!  Jennifer Kirschenman & Jenni Baggett prepared sandwiches, wraps, cookies, apples, et cetera that sufficed for lunch and supper for the team.  Rhett Butler provided a boat load of drinks.  Rhett Butler, Kendall Falana & Scott Kirschenman were our drivers to and from Port St. Joe and the boys of NASCAR have nothing on these three!

The pastor and staff at Long Avenue Baptist were very grateful for the labor provided and the financial help given.  Pray for them as they had no flood insurance and every building sustained major flood damage.

Pray for that entire region as they were hit really hard by the storm.  Saw lots of downed trees, pine trees snapped like toothpicks, and hundreds of blue tarp roofs.

We will receive a special love offering on Sunday, 11/11, in all three services for the Long Avenue Baptist Church family.  Pray and give as the Lord leads.  We have already given them a “by faith” check and hope to add to that total.

I pray that you will have a great Tuesday with Jesus.
