A GOOD READ

I have known Dusty Teague for around forty five years.  He was from Hartselle, Alabama and would later move to Orlando, Florida.  On Monday they found that Dusty had passed from this life while asleep Sunday night.  Deidra has posted a blog entry today and has included a link to Dusty’s story.  Folks, it is worth your time to go to Deidra’s blog, read it and then read Dusty’s story.  (shininglightabroad.com).

In recent years Dusty has been a financial supporter of GRACE Ministries.  I have always appreciated that fact.  He especially loved the feeding center ministry.

WEDNESDAY, 10/31/18

“Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.” (Ephesians 4:32)

Zach Switzer’s surgery was successful.  I have never seen that many folks present for an outpatient surgery of any kind.  There were five pastors present.  Pray for Zach to have a great recovery.

Hallelujah Festival tonight from 6:00 – 8:00PM in the CAB.  Everyone must come in the auditorium to receive a ticket before being allowed in the CAB.  Everyone means everyone – no exceptions.  Pray for this night of ministry.

Remember, no services this morning or tonight.

Basketball sign up and evaluations this Saturday, 11/3, in the CAB.  I “think” it begins at 9:00AM.  Eddie Hatcher or Marcus Albritton can give you the exact details.

“Fall back” this Saturday night meaning that we move our clocks back one hour before going to bed.  I am an advocate for moving the time this weekend and then leaving it alone.  Works in Guatemala!

Our deacons will meet this Sunday afternoon at 4:00PM.

Need to meet with our Personnel Committee this Sunday afternoon at 5:00PM.

Those folks taking part in our December GRACE Ministries trip are asked to meet with me immediately following our evening service on Sunday, 11/11.  Very important.

If our readers outside of the Friendship family want to contribute financially to help the Long Avenue Baptist Church recover from the hurricane then you can make your checks payable to Friendship Baptist Church and mail them to P.O. Box 756 Grand Bay, AL 36541.  Please write “LABC” on the memo line.  You will receive tax credit for your donation.

You can also give online to this love offering or to our general offering.  It is a simple process.  Just go to the website and follow the instructions.

Ok, let me be honest.  We did have a really good group of workers go to Port St Joe on Monday but one worker stood tall above the rest.  Who?  Did you really have to ask?  Bob Evans was worker of the day!  He had a hurt foot and that did not slow him down one iota.  It was like having Ross Genzink on the team – only better!

I pray that you will have a great Wednesday with Jesus.
