MONDAY, 3/21/22

What, no entry Saturday or Sunday?  Correct.  I have a very observant readership!  LOL!

This is the “early afternoon” edition of the blog.  Sorry for the delay.

Carol Lucky’s sister, Diane Enriquez, has been placed back in ICU.  Her heart went into afib which necessitated this move.  Keep praying for Diane.

Jeanette Bates’ hip replacement will take place in the morning in Bay Minette.  Pray for all to go well.

Tim Knighten’s PET scan also takes place tomorrow.  Pray for a miracle!

Toni Lee’s son, Andrew, will have a surgical procedure tomorrow.  Pray that he will do well.  Andrew is six years old.

We were blessed with a good day in our services yesterday.  Our attendance was good.  The spirit was excellent!  Praise the Lord!

Regular schedule on our campus this Wednesday, 3/23.

This Sunday, March 27, we are going to recognize Miss Edna Holifield Glover for serving fifty years as the church secretary for the Friendship family.  This special time of recognition will take place in the CAB beginning at 5:00PM and ending at 7:00PM.  It will be a “come and go” event with the main recognition/presentation taking place at 6:00PM.  Cards and gifts not necessary but certainly appreciated.  I hope we will have a huge turnout for this time of appreciation for Miss Edna.

Well, the SEC conference let me down in the tourney.  I was hanging my proverbial hat on either Auburn or Kentucky to make the Final Four and possibly win it all.  Bama did exactly as I expected.  UT’s loss surprised me.  I figured LSU would loss in the first round too.  So, we now look to Arkansas to carry the league’s banner.  Do not be surprised if they upset Gonzaga.  By the way, I do not want Duke to win it all!

I pray that you will have a great rest of your Monday with Jesus.

FRIDAY, 3/18/22

The second day of the yard sale began at 7:00AM and will continue until 5:00PM.  Tomorrow, the sale will end at noon and then the auction will begin at 5:00PM.  I appreciate all of those folks who have helped with this ministry opportunity.

Nothing new to report on those for whom we have been praying.  Just keep praying!

Regular schedule on our campus this Sunday – morning and evening.

We will celebrate Miss Edna’s fifty years as our church secretary on Sunday, March 27.  Katelyn Johnson will coordinate that reception.  Details coming!

I watched some of the March Madness last night.  Did not see Kentucky getting beat.  I think Auburn wins handily today and I am expecting Alabama to bow out as they will lose to Notre Dame – I hope I am wrong on that one.  I still think Auburn has a great shot of winning it all.

I pray that you will have a great Friday with Jesus.

THURSDAY, 3/17/22

The church office will be closed today, 3/17.  However, Bro. Jerry will be in the CAB all day should an emergency arise.  I am in town but will be covering a surgery and have an appointment.  Bro. Abel is out of town.

The yard sale takes place from 7:00AM until 5:00PM today.

Great news!  Diane Enriquez awakened yesterday, recognized everyone, is talking, the whole ball of wax!  Praise the Lord for answered prayer!  Thank you Jesus!

Joey Switzer will be having surgery this morning to repair his bicep.  May this be a lesson to Joey that he simply cannot keep up with me in the gym.  Nice try on his part but he simply is not in my league.  Pray that all goes well.

Katelyn Johnson’s maternal grandfather will be having a surgical procedure done today.  Pray for him.

Keep praying for Donnie Felps as he continues to recover at home.

Tim Knighten’s PET scan has been moved up to this Tuesday, 3/22.  Pray for Tim.

Continue to pray for Miss Vinnie’s son-in-law, Hugh.

It is late and has been delayed again but we are going to celebrate Miss Edna’s fiftieth anniversary as our church secretary on Sunday evening, March 27.  Details forthcoming.  Katelyn Johnson will coordinate this celebration.

How about another answer to prayer?  The requirement of having to have a vaccine in order to enter Guatemala has been lifted effective immediately!  You still have to have either a negative covid test or proof of being fully vaccination but not both.  Hallelujah!  Now we need to mask mandate on planes to be lifted as well as the requirement for a test in order to fly home lifted.  I am grateful for this first step.

Lisa purchased shoes at the yard sale last night.  I asked, “are they your size?” to which she replied, “no, but it was a good deal!”  Such is my life!

I pray that you will have a great Thursday with Jesus.

TUESDAY, 3/15/22

Once again, a late entry.  Blame this on the rain although that has no bearing.  Trump maybe?  LOL!

I spoke to Jeanette Bates yesterday afternoon and everything is a “go” for her hip replacement surgery next Tuesday, 3/22.  Pray!

That is also the date for Eddie Albritton’s next test on his heart.  Pray for the doctors to get a clear view of what is taking place.

Tim Knighten’s PET scan is set for March 24.  Pray for peace for Tim & Peggy as they await that date.

Spoke to Carol Lucky this morning and her sister, Diane, remains the same.  They are finding nothing wrong except for her kidneys.  The problem right now is that Diane will not wake up and it is not medically induced.  Pray for Diane to wake up and respond.

Also spoke to Marisa Felps about Donnie.  He is having some swelling in his left foot and tends to sleep a lot.  Keep praying for Donnie.

Roseanne Baria has been battling sinus problems which is why she and Robert have been missing our church services.  Pray for Roseanne.

Miss Vinnie’s son-in-law, Hugh, continues to need our prayer support.

Bro. Jerry and crew are busily readying the CAB for the yard sale which begins Thursday morning, 3/17, at 7:00AM.

Regular schedule on our campus tomorrow morning and evening.

I pray that you will have a great Tuesday with Jesus.

MONDAY, 3/14/22

Aninha Barrett’s Aunt Ruth passed from this life and entered into the presence of Jesus early this morning.  Her prayers have been answered.  Pray for the family as they deal with the sting of death.

Carol Lucky’s sister, Diane Enriquez, remains in ICU.  She needs a miracle.  Pray for Diane, Bobby (husband), the family and the medical folks treating Diane.  Diane is a strong believer.

Tim Knighten was in our second service yesterday morning.  He looks good and has great faith in God.  His PET scan is scheduled for March 24.  Pray for Tim & Peggy.

Rachel Walton was in our evening service and then helped in the CAB following.  Amazing!  No walker, no cane, nothing!  Rachel is one tough lady!

As I figured, Miss Connie Hardy was in our second morning service and our evening service yesterday.  What a dedicated lady!

Donnie Felps continues to recover at home from his surgery.  Keep praying for Donnie & Marisa.

Jeanette Bates is still scheduled for hip replacement surgery next Tuesday, March 22.  Pray for this week to pass quickly for her.  Pray for the pain to be manageable.

I have to admit that my faith was not strong concerning yesterday’s attendance because of the time change.  God blessed us with a strong attendance in all three services.  We celebrated a baptism (Toni Lee) in our second morning service.  Praise the Lord!

What can I say about the response to the call for help getting ready for the yard sale.  We had a tremendous response of folks who helped unload the trucks, the container, et cetera.  We dismissed the service at 6:35PM and everything was in the CAB by 7:30PM – amazing!  Just amazing!  Glory to God and thank you to each person who helped in any way!

Sorry this entry is late.  I pray that you will have a great Monday with Jesus.

SATURDAY EVENING, 3/12/22

First, this is a really important entry as it is time sensitive and also gives updates regarding some prayer requests.  Let’s do the prayer requests first.

Tim Knighten went for an annual scan and something showed up that was not expected.  Therefore, the doctor has ordered a PET scan for later this month.  Pray for Tim & Peggy as waiting can be tough.

Carol Lucky’s sister, Diane Enriquez, remains in ICU and is not doing good.  They have given her blood and have twice drawn fluid from her lungs.  Looking at the possibility of a feeding tube at some point.  Pray for Diane & Bobby.

Rachel Walton continues to rehab at home.  Pray for Rachel and her personal nurse – Gary Walton!

Donnie Felps was discharged from the hospital yesterday afternoon – praise the Lord!  Pray for Donnie as he recovers from his surgery.  Also, pray for Marisa as she takes care of Donnie.

Counting down the days for Jeanette Bates to have her hip replacement surgery.  Tuesday, 3/22, is the date.  Pray for the pain to be minimal until that day.

Miss Connie Hardy continues to recover at home.  She is such a trooper.  Debbie, tell your mama to stay in tomorrow as it going to be cold (for Grand Bay).

Ok, here is an urgent “all hands on deck” and this is time sensitive.  There is a large U-Haul truck and another box truck that are both literally filled with what Bro. Jerry calls “treasures” and I call something else.  LOL!  Anyway, I am asking all available men and ladies to attend our 6:00PM worship service tomorrow and then join us in unloading these two trucks.  I honestly believe we can do it in an hour or less IF we have an ample number of folks present.  We can us dollies, carts, whatever to help get these things into the CAB.

The church will provide pizza and drinks to those helping.  So, we need to get some idea as to the number.  Let Bro. Jerry know in the morning at one of the services, please.  I need our thirteen readers to pass the word about this opportunity.  Obviously, this is for the annual yard sale which takes place Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Regular schedule on our campus tomorrow morning and evening.

FRIDAY, 3/11/22

Short and sweet this morning as Lisa and I will be traveling to see my mama and other family members.

Carol Lucky’s sister, Diane Enriquez, is in ICU.  Please pray for her to receive a divine touch from God and for her to be healed.

Donnie Felps had a by-pass on his lower left leg and the surgeon removed the toe next to his big toe on his left leg.  The doctor said Donnie will be very, very sore today.  Pray for Donnie & Marisa.

Rachel Walton was discharged from the hospital late yesterday afternoon.  Keep praying for Rachel and Gary.

Katie Tillmans’ father, Scott,  had successful surgery and remains in the hospital.  Pray for his recovery.

Regular schedule on our campus this Sunday.

No blog entry tomorrow.

I pray that you will have a great Friday with Jesus.
