MONDAY, 5/27/12

First, my deepest appreciation to the members of the USA armed forces who have given their lives to provide/protect our freedoms.  I am also grateful to all who have served and to those who are presently serving.  Thank God for the members of our armed forces!

Our Sunday was good even though it was a holiday weekend.  The children’s choir did a nice job of presenting the Gospel in song during last night’s service.  Thanks to Tena Hovel and the others who work with our children.

It was a joy to see Jackson Black make a profession of faith and then follow Jesus in believer’s baptism as a part of our 10:30AM worship service.  God gives the increase!

Little Gunnar Howell is back in the hospital.  The doctor called Chris & Sherry late yesterday morning to say they had found another problem and wanted him back for treatment.  Pray for Chris, Sherry & Gunnar.

Parker Vice did not have surgery on Friday.  However, he will have surgery in June.

The church office is closed today in observance of Memorial Day.

Kyle Bryant told me to go with the Spurs in game one.  That man is a sports prophet!  Sorry about that Joe David!  Kyle, please tell me the Celtics and Heat will both lose tonight!  By the way, Bill Kendrick was killing me with that C’s jersey last night!

The NCAA men’s lacrosse finals are today.  Riveting!  (Or something like that!)  I can only hope to get my garden work finished in time to watch!

I think Soy is sick, real sick!  On Saturday he used the weedeater while I was on the riding mower.  That is a first!  I had to show him which end of the weedeater to hold, how to start it, et cetera.  He literally worked for about an hour and then slept all afternoon!  (I lie not!  I will lie about Soy but not in this instance!)

The okra patch calls!

I pray that you will have a great Monday with Jesus.
