TUESDAY, 10/29/13

The physical condition of Bernard’s brother basically remains the same.  It was determined that he suffered a stroke on Sunday morning.  He remains unresponsive and the family “may” make the decision to remove him from the ventilator this morning.  Pray for Rex and the family.

Miss Carol Fletcher will be having surgery this morning.

My plans were to visit Miss Bryant yesterday but those plans did not materialize.  I do not know if she was discharged from the hospital or not.  I saw Kyle & Sue last night but failed to ask them about her.

The graveside service for Miss Mazie Wilson went well as far as funeral services go.  I saw members of her family that I have not seen in years.  I was blessed to be able to have the opportunity to share for a few minutes from the Word of God with them.

I did not help with the Hallelujah Festival preparations last night but there was a pretty good turnout and it seemed they got a lot done.  As far as I know, they will be working again tonight beginning at 6:00PM.  Again, contact Lindsey or Daphne if you have questions or need more information.  The HF takes place on Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00PM in the CAB.

Work day, work day, work day!  This Saturday morning, 11/2, beginning at 8:00AM we will have a work day at the church with the primary focus being on getting the grounds ready for the Fall & Winter months.  Someone came yesterday and power washed the sidewalks – what a blessing.  We need to trim hedges, spray weed killer, mow the back forty, move the office, et cetera.  We will stop no later than 11:00AM.

The work day will be preceded by a men’s prayer breakfast that will begin at 7:00AM.  This breakfast will be open to all.  You can attend the breakfast and not stay for the work day or vice versa.  It will help if you will sign up for the breakfast so the guys can be good stewards in purchasing the food.  A list is in the foyer of the auditorium or you can call the church office to sign up.

This Sunday, 11/3, will be one of my favorite Sundays of the year.  Why?  Time change Sunday as we “fall back” one hour.  Translated – if you go to bed at 10:00PM, set your clock back to 9:00PM.  You will gain one hour of sleep this Saturday night.

E-mails, phone calls, and a visit were the order of the day for me yesterday.  I appreciate the words of encouragement.  God is good!

I pray that you will have a great Tuesday with Jesus.
