I just met with Gloria Merritt to discuss James’ arrangements.  The arrangements are still pending but it appears the visitation will take place Monday evening from 6:00 – 8:00PM and the service Tuesday morning at 10:00AM.  The visitation and service will take place in our auditorium.  James will be buried in the Oddfellow’s Cemetery in Bayou La Batre.

I am back from Guatemala and will be posting here each day, Monday – Friday.  You can read the recap from our latest GRACE trip by clicking on the GRACE blog tab on this site.  Chris either has already, or will be, uploading some pictures. 

Rita Boutwell e-mailed me last night to say that James Merritt passed away yesterday.  He was in the hospital but his passing was not expected.  I just spoke to Rita via the telephone and the arrangements are incomplete at this time.  Gloria will be meeting with the funeral directors today.  Pray for the Merritt family. 

The visitation with the Rivers family took place last night and the service for Mrs. Lenore Rivers will take place this morning at 10:00AM.  Pray for the Rivers family. 

Mary Cook e-mailed me to tell me that the doctors have determined that James’ father, Lonnie, does not have bone cancer.  Praise the Lord!  Keep praying as the doctors try to determine why he is losing blood. 

This is a big weekend for the Friendship family as we have a Sunday School workers training tomorrow, a fiesta for our Spanish ministry at 6:00PM, our first Spanish service at 2:00PM on Sunday, and An Evening of GRACE beginning at 5:00PM on Sunday.  The evening of GRACE will feature the preaching ministry of Pastor Mel Hacker and Pastor Bob Harvey along with the music ministry of April McNiel & Jaclyn Weaver.  I believe it is going to be an awesome evening!
