In years past, we have had a workday prior to Easter Sunday.  That has not been the case this year.  However, we really, really need to spruce up our flower beds around the auditorium, around the old auditorium and in front of the office.  Sprucing up includes new plants/flowers and trimming the existing hedges.

Gary Walton has graciously volunteered to plant new plants/flowers once the storms pass through on Thursday.  I appreciate his willingness to help in this area as he really knows what he is doing.

So, here is where the help is needed.  I plan on being at the church at 7:00AM tomorrow (Wednesday) to begin trimming the hedges.  I can use any, and all, help available – men, women, teens, children.  This includes staff members, deacons, leaders, lay members, whomever.  We will need hedge trimmers, ladders, rakes, trucks, et cetera.    I will be on a bit of a tight schedule myself but can easily give this project two to three hours.

We only have thirteen readers of this blog.  About six of those live out of town.  One is Pentecostal.  So, I need the other six to pass the word to anyone who can help.  Cannot give three hours?  Give two.  Cannot give two hours?  Give one.  Cannot give one hour? Give thirty minutes.

It is possible we could hit it again on Thursday morning if the need still exists.  I would like to have all of the trimming work done before Gary comes to plant as this will help him a great deal.

I am doing my best to keep this Saturday as a free day for the members of the Friendship family.  Help us tomorrow if you can, please.  Thank you.

The celebration of life service for Pastor Andy Miller takes place today in Ellisville, Mississippi.  Pray for the family.

Visited with Joe Ladnier yesterday and he continues to be so ready to go home.  The man is determined!  Look up the word “determined” in the dictionary and you will find a picture of Joe Ladnier!  He hopes to be discharged this Friday and I pray that will become a reality.

Brenda Poiroux looked very good yesterday when I visited her.  She had an episode with heart during the night on Sunday but that got corrected.  I am thinking she will discharged tomorrow but would not be surprised if it happened today.  Brenda has done amazingly well and she has a strong faith in God.  Keep praying.

Zach Brown’s paternal grandmother passed from this life this past Saturday.  There will be a visitation and a service tomorrow in Fairhope.  Pray for Zach and his family.

Wendy Johnston took a fall and broke one of her ankles.  She is scheduled for surgery this Friday.  I have always been told that it is rough getting old and Wendy is living proof.  Older people are more prone to fall as Wendy did coming out of her house on Sunday to come to our early service.  This has complicated her life as she was supposed to be fitted for her new hearing aids this Friday but now has surgery instead.  She was also going to have her dentures cleaned at Bebo’s on Friday but that too will have to wait.  Pray for Wendy!

No services, classes, activities, et cetera on our campus tomorrow.

Deidra blogs once a quarter whether she needs to or not.  She posted a video last night of the feeding center children participating in an egg hunt.  The video is only two minutes in duration and will put a smile on your face especially if you pray for and/or give to support this ministry.  Check it out at shininglightabroad.com.

Tax day 2019 has come and gone.  That got me to thinking.  It has been said for years that pastors only work two days each week – Sundays and Wednesdays.  If that is true then their workload is one hundred and four days per year.  Let’s compare that to a certified public accountant – they supposedly work during “tax season” which is January 1 – April 15 annually.  Now, if a CPA works every day during that “season” (which they do not) then their work load is one hundred and five days per year.  Just saying!

The weather folks are now calling for zero chance of rain this Saturday and Sunday.  That is good news for our sunrise service.  The past two days have been excellent weather wise.  They are calling for a low of forty eight on Friday night – hallelujah!
