FRIDAY, 12/22/17

“As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.” I Peter 4:10

Stan Hatcher’s surgery went well.  He remained in the hospital overnight with plans to be discharged today.  I hope to see him this morning before he goes home.  By the way, I appreciate Coach Eric Collier and Morris & Diane Bryant being with the family during Stan’s surgery.  Stan is about as good of a guy as you are going to ever meet.

Heard from Larry Whitehurst last night.  He has an appointment for a consultation at the Mayo Clinic on January 3.  Pray for wisdom.

Rita and Eliana Broome are scheduled to be discharged from the hospital today.  Lisa and I visited yesterday and they are doing good.

Maria Wainwright’s father probably has a malignancy as they removed a tumor from his bladder.  The doctor is almost one hundred certain it is malignant.  Please pray for Mr. Hamilton.

Sydney did well through her procedure yesterday.  Thank you for praying.

Regular schedule at Friendship this Sunday morning, 12/24.  Annual Christmas Eve service at 5:00PM.  (Christmas Eve falls on Christmas Eve this year)

The following is a PSA – our CPA called me yesterday afternoon advising folks to consider, if possible, to make financial contributions to charitable organizations during the remaining days of 2017 instead of waiting until 2018.  He says that a person will “get more bang for their buck” by doing this because of the new tax laws taking affect on January 1, 2018.  Please note that I am not a CPA or a financial planner.  I am merely passing along information shared with me.  (BTW, you never get this type information on Dr. Jack Bailey’s blog – just saying!)

It just dawned on me that today is December 22 and I have done zero Christmas shopping!  Oh my!  Should I rush to town?  Should I jump online?  Talk about pressure!

I pray that you will have a great Friday with Jesus.

(Our blonde readers are already asking, “what is a PSA?”)
