Regular schedule on our campus tomorrow morning and evening.  Our children’s choir will present their spring musical in the 6:00PM service.  I am praying for a strong attendance in both of our services tomorrow.

John Milton drove over late yesterday afternoon with four or five buckets filled with new potatoes.  He gave us more than we wanted.  John is so very kind to my family and me.  Here is a PSA – John Milton is selling these potatoes at a great price but his supply is almost depleted.  Want to purchase some?  Contact him much sooner than later.

Lisa began the process of canning snap beans last night and will be doing so throughout today.  The Lord has blessed the twins and me with some nice looking beans.  We are gathering squash and the corn is on deck.

I pray that you will have a great Saturday with Jesus.

FRIDAY, 5/19/23

Our spring 2023 soccer season ends tomorrow with games in the morning and then the closing ceremonies from 6:00 – 7:00PM in the church auditorium.  I appreciate Bro. Abel and all those who have been involved with this ministry.  Pray for a great season ending day tomorrow!

Our children’s choir will meet this afternoon beginning at 4:00PM for their final rehearsal prior to this Sunday, 5/21.  The spring musical will be presented Sunday evening beginning at 6:00PM in the auditorium.  Pray for Miss Tena, the other workers and the children involved in this ministry.

Our prayer team, under the leadership of Charles Grant, will meet immediately following Sunday School for a time of prayer before our morning service.  Everyone is invited to join them for this ministry.

The Friendship family has two young ladies graduating from high school this year – Hannah (Mobile Christian) and Lexi (Alma Bryant High).  We will recognize these young ladies in our morning service this Sunday, 5/21.  Congratulations, Hannah & Lexi.

Regular schedule on our campus this Sunday morning and evening.

Keep praying for those on our prayer list.  No significant changes to report.

Lisa will begin the process of canning green beans today.  There was another picking yesterday afternoon and it was also a solo flight.  However, the twins, Natalie, Gina & Jason took care of snapping all of the beans that have been picked thus far.  I am grateful.

The community garden on our campus is looking great.  William Sessions is doing a nice job of leading this ministry.  Want to help?  Contact William.

THURSDAY, 5/18/23

Happy fortieth birthday to our son-in-law, Brad Hutto.  In my opinion, Brad is as good as they come!  Great husband and father.  I hope Brad will have a great day.  He is blessed by the fact that his parents have driven down to celebrate this milestone birthday with him.  Happy birthday, Brad!

Short and sweet entry today.  Remember to pray for those folks who have been on our prayer list lately.

They found the Hamil’s son-in-law yesterday morning and basically all is well.  Thank the Lord!

Nanette told us in the service last night that her dad, Terrel Brooks, is retaining some fluid again.  So, keep praying for Terrel and Marie.

Miss Vinnie’s son, Buddy, was not having a good day yesterday.  Keep praying for Buddy!

The funeral service for Lindsey Vice’s first cousin takes place today beginning at noon from the Heritage Funeral Home in Escatawpa, MS.  Pray for the family.

Ladies Helping Hands meets tonight in our Preschool Building beginning at 6:00PM.  All ladies invited to attend.  They are collecting cleaning items for PASCO.  What is PASCO you ask?  Direct your question to Henry Wyse.

Lisa arrived home safe and sound last night (actually early this morning).  Thank God for traveling mercies.

If you are not into gardening, stop reading now.  Here is a “test” for those among our nine readers who have a garden.  If you are picking snap beans on Saturday, 5/13, and you are told that the beans will need to picked again on Tuesday, when would you show up to pick beans?  It is neither a trick question or a hard question.  If you answered Tuesday, 5/16, you win!  If you are one of the twins thinking it meant the second Tuesday of this week. . .

I pray that you will have a great Thursday with Jesus.

WEDNESDAY, 5/17/23

Regular schedule on our campus this morning and evening.  I pray many members of the Friendship family, along with guests, will attend.

Hilda Gunter’s surgery went well and she came home from the hospital.  Pray for her as she recovers.

Bro. Jerry visited Linda Green in the hospital yesterday but I did not get an update.  Just keep praying.

Chuck Rockwell remains in the hospital but hopefully he will be moved to a rehab facility soon.

The visitation with Lindsey Vice’s cousin’s family will take place tonight from 6:00 – 8:00PM from the Heritage Funeral Home in Escatawpa, MS.  Another visitation will take place in the morning, 5/18, from 11:00AM until the noon service time.  Pray for the family during this most difficult time.

One of Andy & Betty Hamil’s sons-in-law who lives in Forrest, MS is missing.  He is in his seventies and has been showing signs of dementia.  He left the house yesterday in his truck to run an errand and has not been seen since.  Pray for his wife, Anita, the family and those searching for him.

Hal Barkley passed from this life some days ago.  There will be a visitation with the family this Friday, 5/19, from 5:00PM until the 6:00PM memorial service time.  Pray for his mother, Carolyn, and the family.

No update on Larry Crawley but I do ask that you keep praying for him.

Hilda Gunter is having surgery this morning.  This is the surgery that was postponed from a few weeks ago.  Pray that all goes well.  Bro. Jerry is there with her.

Bro. Jerry visited Linda Green and Chuck Rockwell in the respective hospitals yesterday.  The doctors are still trying to determine what is going on with Linda’s heart.  Pray for them to have wisdom.  Again, Linda Green is such a fine lady.

Chuck is doing much better.  His wife, Beth, was there with him and the visit was very good.  Keep praying for Chuck.

Keep praying for Larry Crawley and his visits to the doctors this week.

Jason Husband is doing well.  A home health nurse visited with him yesterday morning and said all is going well in his recovery.  Brad & Daphne Hutto continue to monitor his medical needs which is great.  Pray for Jason.

At the time of this writing, the arrangements have not been posted for Lindsey Vice’s cousin.  Keep praying for the family.

MONDAY, 5/15/23

Miss Linda Green suffered a heart attack over the weekend.  Linda Green is one of the finest, most faithful persons I have ever known.  She has always been compassionate toward others and has helped many folks along the way.  Pray for Linda as the doctors determine a course of action.

Chuck Rockwell remains in the hospital.  It appears he will remain there for around another week and will then most likely be moved to a rehab facility.  Keep praying for Chuck, Beth & Greg.

Spoke to Larry Crawley yesterday following our morning service.  He has an appointment with an oncologist this week and one with an pulmonologist too.  He will be having radiation treatments.  Pray for Larry.

Jason Husband was discharged from the hospital on Friday afternoon.  He is doing well all things considered.  Brad & Daphne Hutto have been providing medical care which has been a huge blessing.  Thank you Brad & Daphne.  He will be visited by a home health care nurse today and will see his surgeon next Monday, 5/22.  Keep praying for Jason.

Lindsey Vice’s first cousin passed from this life late Friday afternoon.  She was only thirty-four years of age.  Pray for the family as they walk through this valley.

We were blessed with a great service yesterday morning.  The attendance was strong and the spirit was sweet.  I am very grateful to each person who was present.  Also, thank you for understanding the decision to not have a service last night.  I can only hope that families were able to have some additional family time.

Regular schedule on our campus this Wednesday.

Our children’s choir will present their spring musical this Sunday evening, 5/21, beginning at 6:00PM.

Our VBS will take place Monday, July 10, through Friday, July 14.  Pray for this ministry.

Speaking of Guatemala, my wife, Lisa, is presently there and will return home this Wednesday evening.  She is definitely missed while she is away.

I pray that you will have a great Monday with Jesus.

FRIDAY, 5/12/23

In my mind, I posted an entry yesterday morning.  Best I can figure, someone stole it off the internet.  What is this world coming to?  I probably should start copyrighting these entries!

I was honored by Glenn, Margy & Blake Perkins as they allowed me the privilege of helping with Chad’s celebration of life service yesterday afternoon.  I am thankful to Pastor Paul Meredith doing the committal service.  Also thankful to Jeanette Bates for providing the instrumental music before and after the service.  Glenn & Margy have a tough road in front of them so please join me in continuing to pray for them as often as the Lord brings them to your mind or lays them on your heart.  Glenn & Margy are good folks!

Jason Husband remains in the hospital but may be discharged later today.  The dude has had like two million visitors!  Thank you to the Friendship family and others for being so kind and thoughtful.  Pray for Jason as he is experiencing some pain and discomfort.

Chuck Rockwell remains in intensive care.  Keep praying for Chuck, Beth & Greg.

Lindsey Vice’s cousin also remains in intensive care.  There has been no change in her condition.  Please pray.

Regular schedule on our campus this Sunday morning and evening.  I encourage those who can to attend a worship service with their mother on this special day.  I have not had the opportunity to do so for the past forty-five years and, yes, there is some regret that comes with that.  Mama has obviously played a major role in my life as she helped lay the spiritual foundation for me.  I am thankful.  I can promise you that if I lived near Mama and could attend Mother’s Day worship with her then I would do so every year without fail.  When Mama is gone (or me) then there will not be a “next year!”

I pray that you will have a great Friday with Jesus.

UPDATE ON JASON HUSBAND

Bro. Jerry sent a message saying that Jason’s surgery is over and that he did well.  Did well is translated, “they feel they got it all” which is obviously a very good thing.  Pray for Jason as he now begins the recovery process.
