TUESDAY, 5/9/23

On the top of my prayer list this morning is Tim Knighten.  He and Peggy are in Houston where Tim spent yesterday being tested, scanned, et cetera.  Today, he meets with the doctor to discuss the results of those tests and scans.  He and Peggy will then head home.  Pray for a great report and for traveling mercies.

Second on my prayer list this morning is Jason Husband and his surgery scheduled for tomorrow morning.  Pray that all goes well.

Keep praying for Chuck Rockwell as he remains in the hospital.

Larry Crawley is obviously still battling his malignancy.  Keep Larry in your prayers.

Buddy Brewer also continues his fight against a malignancy.  He is basically following the doctor’s recommendations so just keep praying for him.

I continue to pray for Keith Barrett daily too.  Join me in this prayer.

Please join me in praying for our friends, John & Kristie Potts, in Michigan.  Kristie is battling cancer and is taking a natural route to rid her body of this disease.  She has some scans coming up.  She is a lady of very strong faith.  Great couple.

I did not talk to Glenn Perkins yesterday but he and Margy obviously need our continued prayer support.

Keep praying for Decker and Sherry in Montgomery.

Leslee Herrington told me of a friend whose husband passed away very unexpectedly at the age of thirty-three.  Pray for the family.

Also, keep praying for Eric’s brother-in-law as he battles a brain tumor.

Bro. Abel has plans to do make up soccer games this afternoon.  That did not go so well yesterday so not sure how today will work out.

I pray that you will have a great Tuesday with Jesus.

MONDAY, 5/8/23

The visitation with the Wilma Johnson family will take place in our auditorium this morning from 10:00AM until the 11:00AM service time.  Pray for Willie and the family as they walk through this valley.  Thank you to those who are helping minister to the Johnson family by providing a meal following the burial.

Glenn & Margy Perkins have not been able to complete the arrangements for their son, Chad.  Pray for them as they continue to take life one step at a time.

Chuck Rockwell remains in the hospital.  Keep praying.

Jason Husband is scheduled to have surgery this Wednesday, 5/10.  Pray for all to go well.  Jason is such an important member of the Friendship family.

I ask for continued prayers for Decker Terry in Montgomery and his niece, Sherry.

The Lord blessed us with a good day in our services yesterday.  Bro. Johnny Tucker was faithful in delivering the Word of God to us.  Katelyn Johnson and those who helped her did a nice job with the lunch for our senior adults.  The Friendship family gave generously to Bro. Johnny & Miss Judy.  Good attendance.  Great spirit.  To God be the glory.

It will be our joy to recognize and celebrate our mothers this Sunday, 5/14.  I pray that many will join us for this special day!

May is the month for folks to sign up for the November 28 – December 5, 2023 GRACE Ministries mission trip to Guatemala.  You can do so by sending me a personal email (pastor@friendshipfamily.net).  Please do no later than May 31.  Questions?  Call me or send me an email.

One more thing – Virginia Morris and her daughter, Gloria, brought all of the ministerial staff enchiladas last week.  Wow, talk about good!  Thank you ladies for this blessing!

I pray that you will have a great Monday with Jesus.

SUNDAY, 5/7/23

Happy twelfth birthday to our granddaughter, Emmy.  She had a small gathering with family and friends yesterday and we will have the traditional Sunday lunch family gathering today.  Lisa and I love Emmy and pray that she will have a great birthday!

We recognize our senior adults in our morning service today.  Evangelist Johnny Tucker will bring the message.  The church will provide a delicious lunch in the CAB immediately following the service.  An advanced “thank you” to Katelyn Johnson for leading the lunch ministry and to Bro. Dylan Westbrook for rearranging children’s church to make the CAB available.  We want all of our senior adults present for the 10:00AM service and lunch!

Bro. Johnny will also be preaching in tonight’s service which begins at 6:00PM.  We will receive a love offering for Bro. Johnny & Miss Judy in both services today.  Friendship family, pray and come prepared to be a financial blessing.

My heart has been heavy for the almost past forty-eight hours as I learned of Chad Perkins’ passing from this life.  Arrangements still pending.  Keep praying for Glenn, Margy, Blake and family.

Chuck Rockwell continues to need our prayer support.  Pray for Chuck, Beth & Greg as they walk through this time.

We will have a special prayer for Jason Husband in tonight’s service in anticipation of his surgery on Wednesday, 5/10.

Willie Johnson’s mother passed from this life last week.  A visitation and service will take place at Friendship tomorrow morning. Pray for Willie and family.

I pray that you will have a great Sunday with Jesus.  Attend church!

The memorial service for Bryan Creps will take place today beginning at 10:00AM in Bay Minette.  Pray for Lisa, Kortni, Aaron and the rest of the family.

Chuck Rockwell continues to have some issues with swallowing and needs our prayer support.  The doctors are taking the steps deemed necessary by them to get him through this time.  Pray for Chuck, Beth & Greg.

Tim & Peggy Knighten will leave tomorrow following our morning service headed to the M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston for a scan and consultation.  Pray for traveling mercies and clear scans.

No soccer games on our campus today due to the rain soaked fields.  Pass the word!

Senior adult day in our morning service tomorrow.  Complimentary meal in the CAB for all persons age sixty-five and older.  Pass the word and encourage our senior adults to be present.

Evangelist Johnny Tucker and his wife, Miss Judy, will be our guests tomorrow in our services.  Bro. Johnny will be preaching at 10:00AM and 6:00PM.  We will receive a love offering for Bro. Johnny & Miss Judy.

SOCCER GAMES CANCELLED FOR MAY 6, 2023

Just heard from Bro. Abel that since our soccer fields are literally underwater at the present moment, there will be no soccer games tomorrow, 5/6.  Please pass the word!

Man, I am so disappointed but life is not fair!  Just saying!

FRIDAY, 5/5/23

Bro. Jerry visited the hospitals yesterday.  He sat with Stacey Dyess during Gayla’s surgery and the surgery was successful.  Chuck Rockwell has improved physically.  Audrea Whitehurst is better and was thankful for the visit.

Burl Brewer sent me a message sharing that his grandson, Case, did well through his surgery which took place in a New Orleans hospital.  Burl also told me that his brother, Buddy, got a good report from the doctor.  He definitely still needs our prayers but the doctors have a better handle on what to do from this point forward.  I know Miss Vinnie is happy with this news.

Eddie Albritton messaged me fairly early yesterday to say that all went well with the removal of his two wisdom teeth.  Wanted to know if I was bringing him lunch so I had to explain that he did not need to eat solid food following that procedure.

Teresa Ladnier sent me an email yesterday and she is now doing much better in her recovery.  Praise the Lord.  Keep praying.

My Mama sounds awful as she seems to have a bad head cold.  She literally could not talk to me on the phone yesterday afternoon.  Pray for her, please.

Our soccer leagues continue tomorrow morning.  Pray for this ministry as only three Saturdays of play remain in the spring season.

We will recognize our senior adults this Sunday, 5/7, in our morning service.  I am pleased to share that evangelist Johnny Tucker will be our guest messenger.  Again, this was not planned by me (us) but I do strongly believe it is the plan of God.  Bro. Johnny will be preaching the evening service at the request of Miss Vinnie Brewer.  I am thankful for Bro. Johnny’s willingness to serve.  By the way, we will receive a love offering for Bro. Johnny & Miss Judy in both services.  Pass the word!

FYI, the blog readership is now up to 9.5 readers.  True story!

I pray that you will have a great Friday with Jesus.

THURSDAY, 5/4/23

At the top of my prayer list this morning is Chuck Rockwell.  He continues to be in ICU and is having some complications.  Please pray for Chuck, Beth & Greg.

Gayla Dyess is having surgery this morning.  Pray for all to go well.  Bro. Jerry is sitting with Stacey during this procedure.

Eddie Albritton is having a couple of teeth pulled this morning.  He wants us to pray for him too!

Not going to repeat the prayer list from yesterday but I do ask that you pray for those folks.

The meal yesterday was a huge success.  Stacey Dyess did an awesome job with the pulled pork.  It was great.  To top it off, Stacey & Gayla provided the pork too.  Thank you to this fine couple.

Good day in our services yesterday.  God is faithful!

Breaking news – we will have a guest messenger this Sunday, 5/7, morning and evening.  This came about very unexpectedly but I am very blessed.  Evangelist Johnny Tucker will be preaching for us in our services.  How appropriate is it that God sends an old, white haired man to preach on our senior adult Sunday?  So, I am calling on the Friendship family to show up in strong numbers this Sunday.  Pray, attend and bring others with you!

Remember, major change in how we do food in Sunday School beginning this Sunday, 5/7.  Thank you for understanding and cooperating.

Want to be a part of the November 28 – December 5, 2023 GRACE Ministries mission trip to Guatemala?  If so, contact me at tcturrentine@gmail.com by May 31, 2023.

I pray that you will have a great Thursday with Jesus.

WEDNESDAY, 5/3/23

Our student ministry will host a fundraising meal today following the morning service and then preceding the evening service.  Menu is pulled pork (cooked by Stacey Dyess), baked potatoes, side salad, cobbler and drink.  All proceeds go toward summer camp costs for our students.  Thank you in advance for your support.

This Sunday, 5/7, we will recognize our senior adults in our morning service.  A meal will be served in the CAB immediately following the service.  This meal is complimentary to those age sixty-five or older.  No reservations required.  Our hope is that many of our senior adults will join us for this special day in their honor.

Also, this Sunday, 5/7, will see Charles Grant lead a time of prayer between Sunday School and the morning service.  Want to join?  Simply go to the 38-45 year old classroom as soon as Sunday School is dismissed.

Chuck Rockwell remains hospitalized and in intensive care.  Keep praying for Chuck, Beth & Greg.

Keith Barrett’s visit with the doctor did not produce the results hoped for and will be followed up by a visit with a neurologist in about three weeks.  Keep praying for Keith & Aninha.

Not sure when Larry Crawley has his next doctor’s appointment but ask that you keep praying for Larry.

I do not have an update on Audrea Whitehurst but do ask that you continue to pray for her.

Terrel Brooks is undergoing heart rehab weekly so keep praying for Terrel and Marie.

Miss Vinnie’s son, Buddy, also needs our continued prayer support.  Personally, I continue to pray for Miss Vinnie even though “Miss Vinnie is doing fine!”

Bryan Creps, nephew-in-law of Norman Richerson, unexpectedly passed from this life yesterday morning, 5/2.  A memorial service will be held this Saturday, 5/6, at New Life Baptist in Bay Minette beginning at 10:00AM.  Pray for this family.

Gayla Dyess will be having surgery tomorrow, 5/4.  Pray that all goes well.

Eddie Albritton will be having some oral surgery in the morning.  Pray for Eddie.

Keep praying for Teresa Ladnier as she recovers from her recent shoulder surgery.  Teresa is a sweetheart!

Tim & Peggy Knighten are scheduled to leave this Sunday following our morning service heading to M.D. Anderson Hospital for a scan on Monday and a consultation with the doctor on Tuesday.  Pray for traveling mercies and for a good report from the scan.

I ask that you keep praying for our friends, Decker & Sherry, in Montgomery.  Great friends and avid supporters of GRACE Ministries and other mission work.

One more prayer request – Jason Husband is scheduled to have surgery next Wednesday, 5/10.  Pray for Jason.

Regular schedule on our campus this morning and evening.  Join us!

I pray that you will have a great Wednesday with Jesus.

On the top of my prayer list this morning is Keith Barrett and his appointment with the doctor today.  Pray for Keith & Aninha as they confer with the doctor and gather information.  What a great couple!

Chuck Rockwell is in an intensive care unit but is doing well per the medical folks.  Keep praying for Chuck, Beth & Greg.

Curtis Whitehurst’s sister, Audrea, is in an intensive care unit.  She has been on a ventilator but is off now and doing some better. Most likely, rehab is the next stop for her.  Pray for Audrea.

Gayla Dyess is set for surgery Thursday.  (I wrote Wednesday yesterday but Katie Tillman had told me wrong!). Pray for all to go well.

Regular schedule on our campus tomorrow morning and evening.  Student ministry sponsored meal following the morning service and preceding the evening service.

MONDAY, 5/1/23

Welcome to May!  This first entry in May is late.  No excuses offered other than I have a red truck!

Chuck Rockwell was taken by ambulance to the hospital yesterday afternoon.  He had emergency surgery in the early hours of the morning and it was successful.  Pray for Chuck, Beth & Greg.

Hilda Gunter was scheduled to have a surgical procedure this morning but it got cancelled.  It is supposed to be rescheduled.  Pray for Hilda.

Keith Barrett has an important appointment with the doctor tomorrow.  We had a special time of prayer with Keith & Aninha as a part of last night’s service.  Special time.  Pray for Keith & Aninha.

Larry Crawley continues to meet with his doctors regarding his malignancy.  Pray for Larry.

Gayla Dyess is scheduled to have surgery this Wednesday, 5/3.  Pray that all goes well.

Eddie Albritton is scheduled to have some oral surgery on Thursday, 5/4.  Already, he is milking it for all he can!  Pray for Eddie.

Teresa Ladnier was present in our service last night.  She is doing well in her recovery.  Keep praying!

Tim & Peggy will leave this Sunday, 5/7, heading to M.D. Anderson Hospital.  Scan on Monday and visit with the doctor on Tuesday.  Pray for good results.

Continue to pray for Buddy Brewer.

Spoke to Decker Terry this morning.  He is battling through some physical problems.  His niece, Sherry, is recovering from major surgery.  Pray for Decker and Sherry.

It was great to see Terrel Brooks in our morning service yesterday.  What a fine gentleman.  Keep praying!

Do you believe in miracles?  I do.  The twins actually planted twelve pepper plants in the garden last Friday.  All by themselves.  They used my tiller.  When they arrived, I had three tillers.  I looked after they had left and I now only have two tillers!  Strange!

John Milton Ladnier has my corn looking good – nice and green!  Thank you, John!

Speaking of gardens, Stacey Dyess brought us fresh squash and gumbo on Saturday.  He did not grow the gumbo but he did make it.

We were blessed with a good day in our services yesterday.  Lots of guests in the morning service.  God is good!

We had a prayer meeting with the deacons during the 5:00PM hour yesterday.  Good time of seeking God.

Student ministry supper this Wednesday following the morning service and preceding the evening service.  Pulled pork potatoes, side salad, cobbler and drink.  (Stacey Dyess is the chief cook so it will be very good!)

I pray that you will have a great rest of your Monday with Jesus.
