MONDAY, 9/15/08

The Lord blessed and we had a good weekend.  Our Sunday was highlighted with the baptism of Zach Huhn, Austin Jackson, Coley Johnson, Patrick Julian, & Evan Moulds.  Davy Bosarge and Dillon Povilonis came forward during the evening service desiring to follow the Lord in believer’s baptism next Sunday evening.  So, we continue to give God the glory for giving the increase!

I mentioned in the early service that Bobby & Deidra Crawley are leaving tomorrow, 9/16, to move to Alaska.  Bobby has taken a job there for at least the next two years.  I ask you to pray for them.  However, some folks misunderstood and only heard the “Deidra” part and assumed that was our daughter and her husband, Michael, who are moving.  It is not.  Again, it is Bobby & Deidra Crawley.  Bobby is the son of Tyrone & Jodie Crawley.

Jimmy Copeland has been on our prayer list for some time now and he passed away yesterday morning.  Jimmy is the uncle of Jennifer Moulds and Julie Whitehurst.  The visitation will take place tomorrow night and the service on Wednesday.  Pray for this family during this difficult time.

Miss Joyce Bosarge has not experienced any major problems up to this point due to her first chemotherapy treatment.  Carla Kyser was in our second morning service yesterday.  Phyllis Bush continues her treatments.  Sarah Thornton’s brother, Henry Brown, remains hospitalized.  Miss Kittie Camp’s brother, Ray Trehern, spent some time in the hospital over the weekend.  Miss Idice Reeves is at home but is pretty low physically.  Pray for these folks.

Hurricane Ike may not have been as bad as expected but he was plenty bad.  Pray for those folks who lost loved ones due to this storm and those who received damage.  Pastor Abel Garcia and his family hope to be allowed to return home today.  Continue to pray for those recovering from Hurricane Gustav too.

I pray that you will have a great Monday with Jesus.
