TUESDAY, OCTOBER 9

My dad called yesterday afternoon to tell me that his oncologist gave him a very good report regarding his cancer.  He has been taking chemotherapy treatments for follicular non-hodgkins lymphoma and the Lord has used these treatments to put this disease into remission.  His lymph nodes are back to a normal size, he is feeling good, and is looking forward to the first day of bow season this Saturday.  He asked me to express his appreciation to all who have prayed for him and he is giving God the glory for this good news.  He will visit the doctor again in three months and then have a scan three months later.  Thank you for your prayer support for my dad!  We are grateful!

Cecil Guidry, Lisa, and I visited with Sherry Lee last night.  Please pray for her as she will tell their seven year old son about his dad’s passing this afternoon.  The son has been staying with his grandfather and had CRTS at school yesterday and today so she decided to wait in order for him to not be upset during those tests.

Cecil is coordinating the meal to feel approximately 50 folks tomorrow.  Friendship family members who will help should call the church office today and Edna will put you in touch with Cecil.  We had a good number of the ladies who were at FAITH last night graciously volunteer to help and I am grateful for your willingness to minister.

“Operation Homecoming” is shaping up nicely as someone came yesterday and powerwashed most of the sidewalks.  He promised to come back today to finish and someone else is coming to do some painting.  Thank you to all who are helping!

We will celebrate our 60th anniversary as a church family on Sunday, 11/11.  The main emphasis will take place that afternoon/evening with a meal and a celebration service.  We will be sharing more details in the next few days but please make plans to join us for this special day.

This past Saturday marked the one year anniversary of Vera Mayfield’s passing, today marks the same for Kathleen Ezell, and tomorrow for Ernest Davis.  Please pray for Steve, Ted Ezell, & Charlotte Davis along with their families as they continue to deal with the sting of death.

The funeral service yesterday for Crystal Davis was a difficult one for the family.  Please continue to pray for them too.

I actually watched MNF last night to celebrate Buffalo’s improbable victory over those Cowboys (America’s team maybe but not mine) only to see the Cowboys win on a last second field goal.  So, I basically wasted a couple of hours of my life!

I hope you have a blessed Tuesday!
